Work hard, play hard

As I just wrote in my last thread: I got the rejection for Ninja Warrior for this year.

This does not feel bad, because I am really not in good shape for that :D

This whole year I haven't done a lot of sports (sick, tattoos etc) and gained some weight (and also feel a bit weak)

Work hard:

Self employment: On 1. March I got part-time self employed. So I work at my actual job (moneeeey) 80% (32hrs) a week from Mo-Th. And try to get my business running. Until the end of this challenge I want to have clear: What exactly do I want to do (positioning), which "products" do I sell and get at least a good draft version of my website (already bought the domain etc).

My main job isn't really safe (a lot of jobs will "become no longer necessary" 2022 latest) and I don't know how long I can stay there. I don't reaaally like it but I get a lot of money and so I will wait until they fire me ;)

Fitness: I went to a crossfit training last week and was immediately hyped. Since I got my new tattoos touched up on Wednesday, I again have a sport break until next week at least. This is no problem for the Crossfit part, because the trainer is on vacation until the week after next week. So I will start with the Crossfit trial month at the beginning of May (I think around the 4th). From then on I will do 2x/week Crossfit, the days I want to do it are Tuesday and Saturday.. Also I want to do more bouldering again, also 2x/week, preferred days Monday and Thursday (will start next week thursday again, if my tattoos are feeling ok for that.

Education: I signed up for a lot of courses for the next months/years :D

1. The Crossfit Judge, it's an online course for 10$ and may be interesting for my future.

2. Fitnesstrainer C- and B-license: It's again an online course like my nutrition coach courses. With presence appointments (earliest in July). I think I can go through 3 chapters (incl. tests for every chapter) and try ro manage the final exam for part 1 (chapter 1-3) in this challenge. Maybe not, the date for that is 23. May and I am not sure if I can do it before.

(After that I will do the courses "Mentaltrainer for sports" and Burnout prevention Coach" and also the Crossfit Level 1 Trainer (will do that if I still like Crossfit next year).

Play hard:

Garden/Field: I live in a house where we also have a garden and a front garden (is that what it's called?). For this I want to plant some nice flowers (because nothing else grows in this "dirt") and want a nice garden for all the bees and butterflies and stuff. Not a lot of work but there's always something little to do. Also we leased a piece of land at our organic farmer shop for growing stuff like tomatos, cucumber etc.. It's about 24 m². I am really excited to get some tasty veggies out of that ground!

Mini habits: I just read the two books regarding "Mini habits" (and "Mini habits for weight loss") from Stephen Guise. I like the idea of it and so I want to find out which mini habits would suit me best. In the first week of the challenge I want to choose some and for the last three weeks I want to test them and check, if they are good for me.

Food: As @Terah I had some isseus with bingeing and food related stuff for some time. For the last weeks I don't track anything anymore and don't weigh myself that much anymore. And when I look in the mirror I think I look good (most of the time) and I sometimes really don't know where all the kgs are that I gained. Nevertheless I want to experiment a bit with food and how I feel and how I can workout after eating more protein/more carbs etc.. So no SMART goal for that, just a bit of experimentation from which food I feel good and from which food not. (Btw until I stopped tracking I didn't gain weight, sometimes I still got the "lose weight!!!!"-thoughts, but I think for the sports I want to do i better be strong instead of skinny.)

Work hard:

Self employment: Havent't done anything the last days.

Fitness: Still no sport.

Education: I started and finished the Crossfit Judge course yesterday. Was really fun.

Play hard:

Garden/Field: We went to get the  seeds from the farmer on Saturday. Really nice guy. And we talked about the piece of land. Today is still a public holiday (Easter Monday) so I think we will start planting the seeds tomorrow.

Mini habits: I thought about 2 habits and may add a drinking habit: Meditate for one minute, Do 10 jumping jacks

Food: I looooove bread. But I think, all the "bad" carbs (like flour etc) are not that good for me. Have to check that.

It is in the Netherlands (voortuin) :D But I think it's "front yard" in English.

Awesome!

Try to read the "F*ck it diet", it really goes into this mindset shift

A garden- how fun! I love gardening. Planting seeds, waiting a bit, and then pretty flowers or tasty  veggies reward you (we won't discuss all the gardening failures that can happen:friendly_wink:)

It's also "Vorgarten" in German :D But I hope, everyone understodd me anyway.

The trade licence states "author, coach, trainer - health, nutrition, lifestyle".

I would like to go in the direction of nutritional advice and fitness, with a focus on stress prevention and reduction and disordered eating (NOT eating disorders), especially for multi-potentials. Besides, I am also writing a book.

The F*ck diet is already on my kindle, just have to read it :D

I have no green thumb, so that doesn't work for me.

But the idea that this is how it's gonna be is nice. :D

That is what keep gardeners trying again each year. The hope that *this* year will be the year for everything to grow.

Work hard:

Self employment: ehem....

Fitness: Was bouldering last week. And made two appointments for crossfit this week. Tomorrow and on Saturday.

Education: I finished the Crossfit Judge. And I got the study book for the fitnesstrainer course. Will start to read it tomorrow.

Play hard:

Garden/Field: I planted some flower seeds in the garden and front yard. I am very excited now.

Mini habits: I changed the habits. Now it is: 10 squats, 10 sit ups, 100m row.

Food: I had a day with a lot of bread and carbs last week. And it wasn't good, I felt really bloated. So I think I need some carbs, but not that much. Haven't had a lot of protein that day. The other days were good.

So. Today I decided to "digital detox" at least until sunday.

I am procrastinating with the self-employment stuff a lot and surf the web for ages a day.

There were a lot of organizational things the last week and some sports, but also a lot of surfing and netflixing etc.

Work hard:

Self employment: ....

Fitness: 2x Crossfit, was great

Education: ....

Play hard:

Garden/Field: Weather was too bad the last week, so have to wait to do anything until it's better again.

Mini habits: Did the mini habits everyday. Yaaay.  (10 squats, 10 sit ups, 100m row)

Food: I think I am on the right path right now, I started tracking again (in the evenings, after eating, no pre-tracking) and experimented with pre-sport-foods and I think I now get what helps me most and gives me strength but not too much fulness. I eat my slices of bread in the morning that I love, at lunch it's normally some small meal liek a small bussha bowl with protein+veg or a salad. In the evening I cook with bf and we have heavier meals. Have to check the dinner times again, I think I eat to late so I don't sleep that good because of this.

I'm working on a similar surfing problem myself right now, so I wish you fantastic luck and perseverance. It's tough to get work done online when there's all the rest of the internet... right there... ugh. But in the end it comes down to what's important to you. Recently someone said to me "People act like time is a resource that renews every 24 hours." The implication was that although people perceive it that way, the truth is we can't go back. Time we've spent is time we can't get back. We can only start over in the next 24 hour period -- or the next moment, whenever -- and start making different choices.

I can't reclaim any of the hours I've spent browsing Reddit and simultaneously binging Netflix, but I can be more conscientious about how I use the internet in the future.

Maybe, someday, I'll find a good way for me to use the web.

I think I just need to start my stuff and get going, then I can also use the web and chats etc besides.

Or maybe do a digital detoy every few weeks and "declutter" some of the social media stuff.

Yesterday I thought about a silent seminar in a monastery, maybe 1-2 weeks.

Maybe next year.

Work hard play hard is my motto!!! I'm a fan of workouts and many different types of sport... When I started changing my life I start from walking in the morning, then exercising in the fresh air. I also changed my diet and start using natural products that can replace some food.
