Grandkai_NL Posted April 22, 2019 Report Share Posted April 22, 2019 Grandkai joins Overwatch Last couple of weeks i started going back to the gym and started playing more Overwatch. And with the next challenge coming up i thought: "Why not combine the gym & overwatch for a kewl challenge?" and here we are. Using a few heroes for a few goals i want to focus on this challenge. Reinhardt & Brigitte I am back in the gym and the goal for the challenge is to get stronger with the basic lifts, pull-ups & dips. And also burn some fat away. So i'm going to continue to follow the Stronglifts 5x5 but add the Pull-ups & Dips in it. And when the workout is done do a 5-10 minute Tabata/Circuit with a kettlebell to get the hearth rate up and sweat a bunch. - Workout 2-3 times a week in the gym using Stronglifts 5x5 Kettlebell Tabata/Circuit Angela "Mercy" Ziegler I've gained some weight since last year when i stopped exercising regularly (duh obvious) and i want to get healthier again and lose some weight. For the next weeks i'm going to focus more on what i eat and make sure i consume less sugar than before. So no cookies, soda, energy drinks etc. And i'm going to try and go from 2 cubes of sugar in my only cup of coffee a day to 1 or no cubes of sugar. Eat more fruit Consume less sugar than before 2 liters of water every day Zenyatta With weight training i realize my muscles are going to very short and tight. So besides doing #5 Minute Flow every morning i want to do 2 Yoga workouts a week at home to be and stay flexible and have strong joints. #5 Minute Flow every morning 2x a week Yoga session at home D.va I'm doing a 100% game goal again. I had a burnout with gaming but i'm feeling much better with it and i decided to 100% Mass Effect 2. I only need to do the Insanity play-through and then i have it 100% and i'm roughly half-way with the play-through. 100% Mass Effect 2 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ If i do good with this challenge i'm gonna reward myself with a cute Dva nendoroid. Grandkai_NL Posted April 22, 2019 Author Report Share Posted April 22, 2019 Week 1, Day 1 It Easter Monday and the start of the challenge. Woke up and decide it was a nice moment to stand on the weight scale and see what my weight & bf % was at the start. Currently i weigh: 88,5 kilograms and have 20.5% bodyfat. Hopefully i have both of those down at the end of the challenge. Started the morning with 2 group classes, a friend of mine posted a message on facebook that she was giving 2 classes in the morning and everyone was welcome. I'm not a member at that gym but i could join without any problems. So i went and had fun, i sweated....A LOT! and had a great start of the day. Got home, ate a banana and a lunch meal and chilled in bed. After a while i got out and played some Overwatch, had some good games as Reinhardt and Brigitte. And had a good dinner. Infinity.Creates Posted April 23, 2019 Report Share Posted April 23, 2019 I think the DVA goal is my favourite I've never gone for 100% in achievements, But I recently finished a full playthrough of Dragon Age: Origins, and 2, and I'm about 1/3 through inquisition. I also finished ME1 and 2, but never got round to playing 3. Grandkai_NL Posted April 23, 2019 Author Report Share Posted April 23, 2019 Week 1, Day 2 Woke up pretty sore from the group classes yesterday. All day my body was a tiny bit in pain and tight. But luckily i didnt have too much trouble with it when at work. After work i went to the gym but i went with lighter weight and did a bit less than actually planned. I went 3x5 instead of 5x5 and with lighter weight. And i skipped the Kettlebell Tabata, 1) i was sore from group classes, 2) felt like i sweated/burned fat enough during those 2 hours to skip 1 time. But next workout (Thursday) i am going to do the Kettlebell Tabata's. But lately i feel tired/lazy after my workouts. I would take a shower and just chill and sleep a bit in bed after it. Not sure exactly why i do it, but hopefully i can get out of it during the week. Tomorrow i'm going to watch Avengers Endgame and when i watched the movie i can finally look at the short clips that i keep seeing on Instagram. There is an ending battle and a climax and conclusion to the story, but you've just got to push through the plateau to get there. I'm going to get round to replaying DA:O, just to know how the different endings play out depending on my choices, origins, and romances. Still annoying tho, but didnt had any trouble with it during work. After work i had to hurry cause i had tickets to see Avengers Endgame in the movie theater. And i have seen it and thats all i'm going to say. No spoilers or things i liked/disliked from me, until a week or 2 after the release. By the time i got home it was past dinner time so i quickly ate a bite and chilled a bit on the couch. So a easy day today. Tomorrow its another workout day. I'll check into that, thanks for the tip I know I occasionally overdo the lowering calories concept if I stop tracking for too long. There are plenty of other things that can cause tiredness after workouts, but those are the basic four. Hate to say it, but my gentleman and I are going to wait til it comes out on DVD. Getting old means the bladder just can't handle movies that long. Week 1, Day 4 till 7 The week went pretty good, did my second workout of the week with a few kgs less than the sets i had last week. Around friday all the pain from the groupclasses on Monday were away and i felt awesome! Made meals on saturday and just had a nice relaxing weekend. Started playing World of Warcraft again because i saw a lot of Asmongold video's on youtube. And those videos dont show a lot of gameplay but it was a lot of lore stuff on what he reacted. So this has hindered the Mass Effect 2 progress a bit, but next week i will get the flow back. Grandkai_NL Posted April 30, 2019 Author Report Share Posted April 30, 2019 Week 2, Day 1 Woke up after my nightshift and decided to see if i lost any weight/bf. I was somewhat suprised i went from 88,5kg/20% BF to 87,3kg/19,7% BF. It feels like that is a lot of weight i dropped in a week but maybe i'm overreacting? All i did was cut out cookies and alcohol last week. And all i had was a little cheatday on Friday. oh well Got to the gym and had a good workout. Squats, Military Press & Deadlifts all felt great again and i cant wait to see what progress i will get this week. I decided to cut out the KB-tabata at the end because it felt more that i was putting a lot of stress on my body instead of feeling a good sweat. Still rocking the "I LIke Exercise, Because I Love Eating" tshirt at the gym Also am removing the Zenyatta Yoga sessions, because my mind isnt fully on that. Better to focus on the #5 Minute Flow then do a half-ass job of both. Got home from the gym and relaxed a bit on the couch, first day or 2 on the next shift is always hard so i tend to take it a bit easier. Had a decent day at work but near the end there wasnt really anything for me to do, so i became very tired. I think i've fallen asleep for a few seconds behind the computer. Am home now and its about time i go to bed. I only have one task for tomorrow: clean the basement up a bit. So lets try to get that done. I feel you on switching off the tabata - I was doing a reverse crunch that was good on the abs but also made my neck hurt. Not worth it. Grandkai_NL Posted May 11, 2019 Author Report Share Posted May 11, 2019 I have been terrible with updating this challenge. But here's a quick update: Rest of week 2: Went ok. Did 2 workouts in the week and got only a little bit of progress with Mass Effect 2. Week 3: Started the week with weighing myself. Went up to 87,6kg and 19,9% BF. But i ordered fast food a few times in the week. So i'm pretty sure thats the cause of it. Had afternoon shifts so its my standard sleeping in in the mornings instead of getting out when the alarm goes off. Got 2 workouts in, could have done Saturday aswell but didnt feel like it. And also i dont like doing on/off workout days for a whole week. Went to see Detective Pikachu yesterday, fun movie and i had a good time watching it. Maybe in the last week i am able to post something in a way but we will have to wait and see how that goes. Woke up and weighed myself: I started week 3 on 87,6kg and 19,9% BF (had a bit too much fast food that week) but this morning i was 87,4kg and 19,8% BF so i'm down again and close to my weight at the start of week 3. Had a decent first day of the week. Had a good day at work and a pretty good workout. Did some 3x5 Squats, Military Presses & 1x5 Deadlift. After that some Dips & Chin-ups and i finished it with 15 minutes on the treadmill. Got home and had some food and played a little bit of Mass Effect 2. I think i need to do one more loyalty mission before i can proceed to the finale. Normally i would clean up a bit and vacuum before bed but today i wasnt feeling it, but i did read some before sleeping so i would still call it a win. After work i bought Rage 2 and been playing that quite a lot (bye bye ME2 progress ). During my evening routine i cleaned up a bit and dusted off a few pieces of furniture. Wednesday (today) wasnt so great, had a lot of trouble today at work with the machines which made my mood a bit sour. After that i went to the gym to workout but with the mood at work my mood at the gym also wasnt great. I went in and did some lighter weight squats and some dips & chin-ups, not a lot but its something Got home, showered and played some more Rage 2. Tomorrow i am going to play some ME2 so i can progress and maybe finish it before the challenge ends or maybe in week 0 of the next challenge. Right now i'm doing my evening routine, cleaned all the dishes & vacuumed the carpet. Sometimes I break the mood and go heavy by the end, sometimes not, but I'm still going and seeing progress. Hope today is going better for you. Went on Friday to John Wick 3 Parabellum and after that i enjoyed the night with some red wine. Woke up yesterday with a bit of a headache and a dry mouth but i took a shower and went to the gym for just a little bit. Did a bit of cardio on the crosstrainer and some light barbell exercises to wake up and lose my headache a bit. Got home after that, took a shower and had to get ready to go to my parents cause yesterday evening my mother was celebrating her 60th birthday with a few close friends and they had a nice big party. Party was fun, talked a lot with family and friends from my parents and when i got home drank some water and slept. Today i go into my nightshift and woke up oke but a bit early so i did take a little powernap before i head to work. Challenge review: I would say i passed this challenge. Had a few off days but overall i did really good. Lets quickly check my goals and what went well/bad Reinhardt/Brigitte: Felt really good. Had a few times the thought of changing the program but quickly removed that thought because i know if i change the program i would just be switching from workout plan to workout plan and not do anything. So i made a goal to keep doing this program until i hit a certain goal. Made some changes to the program to keep focus and some fun in it. Removed the KB Tabata & went to 3x5 instead of 5x5 to keep my focus on the workouts. and added the Dips & Chins to it. Mercy: I learned more about eating food by eating less sugars. I had a few cheat days but mostly i didnt miss the cookies or the soda's. And during the work day i would eat later depending on if i felt hungry or not. The next step would be to be to up the quality of food i eat and maybe count macro's? Zenyatta: The 5 minute flows feel good in the beginning of the day. Much better so far than if i would do the Yoga. Dva: Made a lot of progress but missed finishing it during this last week because of a new game, but i think thats normal for everyone when they get a new game.
