squeakyvalkyrie
Well, this challenge is off to a good start. I got my workout in this morning and looked at the boss battle, it seems doable with a couple more weeks of training. I stuck to IF and had dinner at the table. I did part of my night routine in anticipation of going to a meeting, but we bailed. Instead, we went for a little walk, that kept going until we ended up doing 5k! I had mapped out a loop from our house a couple weeks ago for reference, so we went for it. We didn't have the best shoes on and there was a large hill we weren't expecting, but we did it! The terrain race doesn't feel so scary now that I know we can both move our bodies that far without dying. Now it is advil and bedtime. 8 Quote halfling rogue ⋆ level 4 my challenges: 1 2 3 4 5 6 ⋆ my character ⋆ my quest when it rains, look for rainbows; when it is dark, look for stars Link to comment

squeakyvalkyrie
We skipped D&D last night, the group has grown to an unplayable size and next week they are splitting it into two, so we are just going to wait until then to play again. I guess a lot of people had the same idea, only three players showed up! Oh well, I'm still working on getting stuff ready for my cousin, who should be arriving tomorrow or Friday. We did adventure to the hardware store for shelf brackets and I finished painting the shelves, so now we have everything ready to install them. I also got more random cleaning done. I didn't get my nightly routine started on time, but I wasn't too far behind. And, I bought a hammock! Having a place with a hammock has always been a goal of mine, and we've got the perfect spot for it at this place. It just needs to stop raining so I can dig the hole for the post! I did my workout this morning, adding a rep to the last set. I need to start pushing myself if I'm going to defeat the boss! IF is still in full swing. 4 Quote halfling rogue ⋆ level 4 my challenges: 1 2 3 4 5 6 ⋆ my character ⋆ my quest when it rains, look for rainbows; when it is dark, look for stars Link to comment
squeakyvalkyrie
Well, today is the day. My cousin should be here this evening. After living in my aunt's spare room all last year and just getting our own space back in January, I was surprised that Kermit suggested having a long term house guest. We are both kinda sad about having someone else in our space, but we believe strongly in paying it forward. We would be homeless without the kindness of my aunt, so we are trying to honor that. The guest room is all set, extra keys are made and space cleared out in the kitchen and bathroom. I hope this doesn't blow up in my face... I think the real difference will be he is a guest in our house, he'll be working and playing baseball, and we aren't home much on the weekends in the summer anyway. (Yay SCA!) On the goals front, 0 week is going well. IF is a solid habit, we ate dinner at the table again last night. I got my evening routine started on time and got to bed at a decent hour. I did my yoga this morning. I may buy the NF Yoga package soon, I am ready for something different and I like the format of the free video. I'm excited about this weekend, we are going to my anniversary SCA event (four years!) It is one of my favorite events of the year and I am looking forward to seeing all my friends, even if it is going to rain some. 4 Quote halfling rogue ⋆ level 4 my challenges: 1 2 3 4 5 6 ⋆ my character ⋆ my quest when it rains, look for rainbows; when it is dark, look for stars Link to comment
squeakyvalkyrie
I'm glad it was zero week, as I somehow shut off my alarm and didn't get up for my workout. I'm not stressing it too much, I got some bonus workout yesterday by finishing digging the hole for the post for my hammock. We are going SCA camping this weekend, so I'll get the rest of my workout packing and loading the truck after work. I also need to make a toilet fit in my trash can, so there will be sledgehammering! Greg (my cousin) got in not too late last night, so that chapter has begun. He seems super chill, so that will be good. He's my second cousin and we saw each other yearly as kids, but I've only seen him once since he became an adult. So it'll be nice to get to know him again. Half day at work, so IF is guaranteed as I didn't bring any food. Then it'll be shot for the weekend at the event. But, I get to see all my friends that I have missed so much! 4 Quote halfling rogue ⋆ level 4 my challenges: 1 2 3 4 5 6 ⋆ my character ⋆ my quest when it rains, look for rainbows; when it is dark, look for stars Link to comment

squeakyvalkyrie
The weekend was super fun, but kind of a bust for my challenge goals. No IF, we are on a meal plan someone else is cooking, so we eat what is available when it is ready. No workout Monday other than tearing down camp and loading and unloading the truck. I did have my step goal by noon on yesterday, so that was good. I didn't get a chance to sleuth out why my alarm isn't working, so I missed my yoga this morning. I was in bed by 8 last night though! Perfection isn't the goal, changing my life for the better is, so I'm not worried about any of this. I'm back on IF and my regular schedule now, so things should be good from here on out. I'll figure out my alarm tonight and be all set for my workout tomorrow! 3 Quote halfling rogue ⋆ level 4 my challenges: 1 2 3 4 5 6 ⋆ my character ⋆ my quest when it rains, look for rainbows; when it is dark, look for stars Link to comment
squeakyvalkyrie
I'm finally back on track with this challenge. I got my alarm situated, so it actually woke me up this morning in time for my workout! Feels good to be a little sore. IF was a miss yesterday, Kermit's knight and his wife came over to use our yard to dry his pavilion, so we went out to dinner with them and were past our eating window. Also to bed late, but it was worth it. I'm counting it as dinner at the table though, even though the table wasn't mine. Late spring rains have caused the weeds that make up our lawn to grow to unnatural heights, so yardwork is going to be a bonus workout every day until things have been tamed. We would have gotten more done yesterday, but we got a flat tire on our riding mower and that had to be repaired. But now we are back in business and ready to get to work! 5 Quote halfling rogue ⋆ level 4 my challenges: 1 2 3 4 5 6 ⋆ my character ⋆ my quest when it rains, look for rainbows; when it is dark, look for stars Link to comment
squeakyvalkyrie
Succeeded in IF last night and got my yoga in this morning. Dinner at the table while Kerm and I figured out how to narrow the focus of his SCA persona. Busy busy at work, so not a lot of time to update. 3 Quote halfling rogue ⋆ level 4 my challenges: 1 2 3 4 5 6 ⋆ my character ⋆ my quest when it rains, look for rainbows; when it is dark, look for stars Link to comment
squeakyvalkyrie
I'm in bed in my workout clothes. I have lost all motivation for my workouts and can't find the energy to be on team do it anyway lately. I'm coming this part of my challenge and feeling like a failure. Yesterday was weeding and yardwork all day and I'm just spent. My workouts bore me. So today I'm going back to bed. I need to just do the boss battle and move on. I also need a new yoga video. I like the nerd fitness water one, but I'm bored with it. I need to find a project I'm excited about, I have just been slogging through stuff I have to do and not focusing on what I want to do. 2 1 Quote halfling rogue ⋆ level 4 my challenges: 1 2 3 4 5 6 ⋆ my character ⋆ my quest when it rains, look for rainbows; when it is dark, look for stars Link to comment

squeakyvalkyrie
WEEK ONE RECAP Challenges: Diet: Carry On IF on weekedays 16:8 (weekends are a bonus) Three out of five days, plus a bonus for the weekend Eat mindfully - dinner a the dining room table 3xs per week Success! Exercise: Level Up Don't miss a workout/yoga - be ready to fight BERSERXES THE SQUAT KING on June 19 I skipped Monday, Tuesday and Friday... I'm burnout, not lazy. Reworking my workout/yoga schedule so I can actually have a rest day. NEW SCHEDULE Monday - REST Tuesday - WORKOUT Wednesday - YOGA Thursday - WORKOUT Friday - Yoga Saturday/Sunday - I generally am active enough on the weekends that it will count for another workout. Hike 1x per week I didn't make it out on a hike this week. Life: Get Rest/Look Good Start bedtime routine at 8pm I have been better about getting to bed earlier and getting more stuff done around the house in the evenings, but not really about starting it strictly at 8pm. So half a win. New tunic for Kermit and dress for me finished by June 19 Kermit and I have been focusing a lot on defining our personas better, so until that is figured out, I don't know what to make clothes wise. I'm hoping to get started on sewing this week. This morning I was feeling like a lazy bum, but after reading @Rookie 's reply, I realized that I'm burnt out, not lazy. So Mondays are now for resting and relaxing, which should help me regain my energy for the rest of the week. I'm calling this week a success, it surely wasn't perfect, but I learned what wasn't working and why, so I'll take that as a win. 3 Quote halfling rogue ⋆ level 4 my challenges: 1 2 3 4 5 6 ⋆ my character ⋆ my quest when it rains, look for rainbows; when it is dark, look for stars Link to comment
