Breakfast: Overnight oats with peanut butter
Lunch: leftover baked chicken & sweet potatoes with kimchi
Snack: The last of the shortbread biscuits
Dinner: Mexican out with a high school friend of DH’s who just happened to be in town for a few hours - had camel tacos, lots of chips & salsa, 2 Jamaican margaritas (rum & peach), and 1 mule

Tried to go to my second yoga of the week, but it was cancelled last minute - while checking with DH to see if I should take the later class, the surprise dinner out came up. Glad I didn’t go anyways.

It wasn’t a wash, though - I was already dressed, so I hit the gym for a treadmill 5k instead.

Been steadily reading Mr. Money Mustache articles.

Also mostly planned our next vacation - switching to Germany instead of Italy; tickets have been bought and 1 of the hotels has been booked.

Friday
17f5821440b07b710479b4530c7a17ca.jpg
Overnight oats, the last of the roasted sweet potato & chicken & kimchi, quinoa/rice pasta + chicken + roasted green beans, a packet of pita chips for a snack

Saturday
d44c53580748ea2ba8218ee17c82478f.jpg
Got my bloodwork done for the dietician
Went out for breakfast at an American diner and it was meh - had about half of my eggs, country potatoes, biscuits & gravy and 1/2 of a slice of beef bacon.
Dinner was a Thai beef grabbed from the deli counter while grocery shopping. Pineapple as a snack.

Sunday
f7f79f899033a856367fa8ca13765706.jpg
Grabbed a late breakfast / early lunch at the National Museum - chapati stuffed with keema
Late lunch / early dinner was also less than successful - went to an American style crab shack; they were out of shrimp - had an Italian hoagie that didn’t have cheese listed on the menu - it was barely edible. Had like 5 of the fries; was miserable from the leftover smoke from dinner service.
More pineapple for dessert.

Today was the first day of the elimination diet - and all 3 meals were a fail. The snack was a win, so there’s that.

Breakfast was pineapple because I didn’t make overnight oats and I really didn’t want to make pumpkin pancakes.

Lunch was the last of the rice pasta with tomato sauce and chicken because after a turn in the slow cooker, the quinoa for lunch still wasn’t done.

Dinner was a chicken & cabbage bake. Whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy, if the goal is to calm my GI system down, did I think cabbage was a good idea????? It was not, and I hurt all night.

My dessert was bangin - mango coconut nice-cream with berries.

Should have treadmilled, but fails on both the quinoa and rice DH wanted me to make him had me waiting for 2 damn hours for ricey things to cook, and then I fell asleep.

Elimination diets are hard but so very valuable...   Better food luck tomorrow!

I’m trying to remember that - I’ve done them on my own and found out good things - just mostly want to make sure there isn’t anything else going on other than just a crap stomach - if there’s something else I can fix to join the good poo club, I’m in!

Deep breaths and remember it’s all a process. An expensive process, but a process all the same - and I’ve now got a GP for backup to read my test results if I have questions.

Breakfast: Overnight pumpkin oats

Snack: Mango nicecream with berries

Follow-up at the Functional fitness doc today, and in light of my bloodwork and the fact that cabbage had such an effect Monday, we switched to FODMAP. My blood levels are all within range, just a few things high that could signify a (historic) upper-GI infection that’s rages from at least 2011 and is causing issues with processing foods re: fermentation in the gut, something something liver something, thyroid is fine, he didn’t do a cholesterol panel, but my good cholesterol is historically really low ..

The good news: Coffee is back on, maaaaaybe 1 vodka soda, shellfish and pork and beef are back, caffeine if all sorts is ok.

The less than fun news: No onions or garlic, not a lot of almonds or cashews (no almond milk or the cashew milk I just bought).

The semi frustrating news: So, I’m just a delicate Princess it looks like like I thought and there’s nothing really quantifiably wrong with me but pansy guts.

Also: doc gave me a vitamin regiment to be purchased through a third party doctor for quick shipping and I think one of the probiotic blends is proprietary. Trying to be open and not just assume he’s a quack on the vitamin take.

Making this harder was the mention of the D word (Detox). Now this could mean a lot of things - and I didn’t ask further because I didn’t want to go turbo bitchy, call him a woo peddler, and walk out - I know FF walks the line there - I’m choosing to go with the ‘I chose a FF doctor because: the bar to entry for a simple dietician is low as well, FF at least treats the whole body like a DO (which doesn’t exist here), and I believe looking for root causes of issues through data is the way to go.

Deep breaths and channel some zen. Also realize that my reflexive ‘I don’t want to spend $ on this shit’ isn’t the most rational or productive of all impulses.

Ooh. And he also said that a: no beer in Germany (which is fine - I’m not huge on German beer anyways), but if I want 3 meals a day of Freedom pork, to go for it

Pups were asses to each other all evening - Odin was amped and bad on the first half of our walk and good-ish on the way back.

We also bought him a slow feed bowl, which seems to be doing well - and is certainly quieter than the plastic egg carton we were using.

It really slows my little man down - he’s gone from inhaling his food so fast he chokes to it taking like a solid minute to eat. Win!

Monday, batch cooked a couple recipes, went out with friends for lunch - had nicoisse salad. Dinner was catch-up with a friend and dropping off some non-compliant groceries + some Whole30’staples we can’t get here I ordered for her on Amazon.

Tuesday was coffee group - lunches with a friend who has been out of town for an extended period of time. Dinner was one of my batch cooked items.

Wednesday I breakfasted with DH before he left for another trip, had a simple late lunch when my stomach decided to play nice, hit the mall to actually buy shit, and only wanted popcorn for dinner.

Today was my wine lunch day - had the sushi set; picked most of the green onions off; I’m sure I had bits of non-compliant stuff, but nothing more than a bite or two. Also had 3 vodka sodas - but spaced out over 7 hours. Didn’t add to MFP because lazy.

This looks like another 1 yoga class week, and I think I’ll look into the barre/aerial/pole gym in the tower over to see what their classes cost and are like to supplement because I’m hating the summer schedule for yoga.

Had my doctor visit - sent her the functional doc tests, and she didn’t see anything too out of the ordinary - she may or may not agree with the infection thing; she does think that if I go back to not being able to process fat that I should pop back in.

Other than that, I’m back in 6 months for a recheck on my breathing - continuing the inhaler, but she st least dropped my nasal spray to once a day.

Aaand she doesn’t want me walking around in the dust without a face mask, even though they’re dorky.
