Oh crap, oh crap, oh crap!

 

I got cold, sore throat, stuffed nose and all that. Bad thing is, I planned to participate (as every year since I'm here) in Squatmas.  This will be tough to do when I can't breathe normally... :(

Feeling slightly better. Still stuffed nose but no fever, muscle aches or whatsoever.

This seems a good reference point. My plan is to maintain my fitness level despite less time I'm willing to spend on actual training.

Yep yep you're there to have fun! Think about how much mud, swinging around you'll get!

 

If you want to maintain fitness with less time you kinda need to be more focused and train smarter per se. 

 

If I use a running analogy, you don't need to clock half marathons everyday, you can do reasonably well for anything below a HM with one speed workout on Tuesday, one hill workout on Thursday and one long steady distance run on Saturday.

 

Ultra work you'd really want to do back to back weekend runs though , but that would only be like 20-30k runs for 2 days in a row?

Kitchen done, turned out there was less work than expected. But still, away from home for three days. 

 

Managed to catch up on training at Sunday. This way, only one training went down the drain (replaced with some gymnastics like hauling dishwasher, fixing satellite dish, deep-cleaning the basement etc.)

Well, maybe ;) 

 

I just slowly add load as I feel confident with current one. No big goal nor target load, though, just slow increments to see how much my body can adapt to. But I think full 40kg routine will probably be max I will push towards. I'm not into buying next kettlebell - the heavy ones are damn pricey, and going from 40 to 48 in one step would be probably bit too much... and I'm way too cheap to buy 42, 44, 46 and 48kg 'bells. I probably could just opt for gym membership if I wanted to go heavier, but I prefer home exercising - less time wasted, more flexibility with timing etc.

Today's training was... bit different than usual.

 

First, I did cardio. In form of vigorously scraping ice from 100m of sidewalk :D 

 

And then, out of curiosity

 

50 reps of kettlebell clean and jerk (24kg), switching sides every 5 reps.

Wife invited me for a walk. We did 15 kilometers in 2.5 hours. Not bad ;)
