RedStone Sparks Something

It seems very likely that I will be totally moved by the end of this challenge, which sounds a little nuts to me considering how fast this last challenge seemed to go.

Details TBD focusing on:

1. Scheduling EVERYTHING

2. Prioritizing writing

3. Packing/purging/moving

Currently asking myself - what would the most useful approach to this thread be? Probably a very minimal accountability post every day to say that I'm using my planner, which means - scheduling in all of my tasks including writing and packing -  not just client appointments.

I'll be making room for R&R because that's how I roll, so I don't think I need to worry too much about that - although I did over play the sims a bit this weekend, but I would argue it was part of taking it easy because of my cold. So we'll see. If it gets out of hand I'll add controlling sims time to the list.

Yay for writing! Do you want us to post sad dog pictures if you don't write every day? Just for accountability?

Minimalism during big life efforts isn't just smart, it's necessary!   So much congrats on house stuff.   Very excite!

I've been terrible at keeping up on NF at all, but I miss your face and your posts, so I am gonna be here for legit this time.

Haha, well, my ideal profile/goal for writing is only for Monday - Thursday, but sometimes I have to swap days due to other work. So I guess M-Th would be ok, otherwise I would feel stressed. Good news is that I'm closing in on being done! I might even finish before the end of July goal. (On top of that we have a book launch date now so everything feels a lot more real and kinda keeps the procrastination from setting in. I can hardly believe it's all hapenning!)

____

Speaking of... scheduled this week. Did today. Not unhappy about that.

Right?? I can't believe how this year has been, it's crazy crazy crazy! Where are ya'll at with you're housing situation now? And honestly... so many nerds relocating atm, is there something in there air?

_____

Had to rearrange a little for a last minute client swap, but did a short writing session at Panera during a break this morning, and getting in another this afternoon. Feeling better but still coughing from deep in the chest - I've been pulling back the training while sick btw, it's been a bad one.

I did not make it to second writing session yesterday, which ended up being v weird day anyway. But the first sessions was p good and I have one scheduled for this afternoon and may even be able to get a bonus one in during another long break this afternoon.

Making those planner notes yo. Everything is scheduled for today, and I have a session with a beta client testing my program for the book. I'm excited to have another person going through it but this person has been difficult to pin down and I'm not super confident she'll show up or do the work. We shall see. Maybe I can test up-selling accountability.

I'd also like to get in a little time working on my pin/needle minder situation. Have I told you guys about those? Maybe tomorrow is a perfect time to pencil in a few hours for that :)

Woo!!! Nothing like testing out programming on the non-ideal client (which is actually probably the target market for your book?).

I do not know about these, but I'm picturing a truly epic collection of sewing / embroidery / cross stitch tools. Especially with you slotting a few hours for it.

Aaaaaand shock. She cancelled. I guess that means I can day drink anytime now  jk jk jk but seriously. Some people you just know. I've gotten good at reaching out to double check with a - how are things looking for 4p? - when I have that feeling. I do not go out of my schedule for people like that.

omgomgomg I'm obsessed. Needle minders are little magnetic charms that attach to your sewing project and keep your needle from getting lost. They're easy to make (even tho most cross stitchers find it too tedious and there's a surprising market for them on etsy), and you can pretty much use any little charm - but it gives me a place to focus my enamel pin obsession.

(And yes Mike, I can knock out a few dozen in few sessions, an hour to grind, an hour to glue, an hour to photograph and an hour to post listings if I do reopen my etsy site for it - I used to do pet portraits there lol)

Here is an example tho mine are more snarky, vintage, weird :abnormal:

(There's a magnet on the back of the pin, as well as another magnet that goes behind the fabric. )

Here's the first one I bought for myself, then I saw how they were made, they I went to the creepy swap meet to buy pins and then went NUTSO BANANA PANTS

UMMMM LOVE IT!!!!! If you ever do reopen your etsy shop, I have a feeling these will become little gifts for some sewing and harry potter obsessed teenagers in my life. :D

nonononoooooo that's one that I bought from someone else! My first purchase :D And IKR it's AHmazing. Here's the listing if it interests you. Mine are made from enamel pins, this one is some kind of plastic, maybe a 3D print? I'm not really sure, but's awesome :)

Would you be interested in being an advanced reader??? Goal is to have copies sent to beta readers 2 months before launch so I can work out kinks and get reviews ahead of time...

Oh, sweet! I love the cat's paw ones. I wish I could accio my pencil and cable needle when knitting, though I recently gave up the cable needle and am doing cables without one, because it was a pain to keep losing it, looking for it, finding it, and doing one set of cable crosses before losing it again.
