Persian is not that great either. Going to bed is a catastrophe. And I missed back-bends. The middle of the week was hard gain, not enough sleep too much coffee. I postponed P2 (Thursday -> Friday). I still did not manage to do backbends on Saturday. I did do press to HS and HS endurance on Sunday with some extra pull. All was fine on Sunday until I ate some cheese and got a massive allergic reaction. Rashes, epic curse-level pustules all over my body, and wanting to scratch myself for about 4-5 hours. This is the first time ever it happens to me. I could still breath so we didn't go to emergency services. E. also had an allergic reaction but milder. Today my face was still a bit rough and I wasn't feeling so hot, so no practice. Hopefully I can get back on track. Not sure why but this is turning out to be a very tough challenge. Work is still cool, busy and interesting. I still cycle back and forth. It's still super hot. We got news from social security and the usual Kafkaian epic is starting to happen, they are asking for documents we already gave... and for myself I need one more document because I wasn't born in France... so they feel the need to check that I'm really French... It does feel a bit alienating because it's exactly the same thing every single time I have to deal with paperwork like this. And they could have asked me to join the document in the first place instead of having us to wait one month. And technically because I'm working, I should automatically get plugged in (as HR at work confirmed to me). But apparently not. Anyway... Feeling better about press, like I can recognize different levels of fails and I'm progressing on those Today it was raining, I took my bike and …. had a huge slide on the old pavement in the city centre. I fell quite badly on my right (it could have been worse though, I saved my head, thanks to bailout practice?). I was ok but then blood started flowing out like the Niagara Falls (deep wound at elbow level), and I kinda felt fuzzy. People helped at a nearby kiosk and then a firefighter truck happened to pass by so I got really good care. I mostly had very low blood pressure. My heart rate was 42 which I thought was oddly funny, one of the firefighters asked me if I was doing a lot of sport It came back up to ~60 after a while. I really thought the heart rate would increase following an injury shock but not necessarily apparently. Anyway, I did not go to work because I was really dizzy for a while and the wound needed more attention. I could go to a doc in the afternoon, and said no to a stitch (I'm a total wimp). And this is classified as a work incident - however since I'm not yet in the system I have to advance the money for everything! Tomorrow I'll get an x-ray of my elbow. I'll be back to work too. And hang from long arms as well. Actually full arm extension is the most comfortable for me. I cannot however do any kind of elbow humping, eg crows / planche progressions. Even if I could start above the wound, I might end up sliding on it... this is a big no no right now! I had no practice during the week except for hips + legs, which I did on Wed (and well Press to HS just before my fall). I'm still not consistent at all when it comes to Persian / bed / coffee... Today I did press to HS (plus Cirque Physio / pull). The only modification I had was to HS not far from the wall because I don't feel like bailing out in a bridge right now. And that went ok. I do feel some tenderness near the front shoulder, so I didn't push it but I sweat it well enough. No endurance, instead I tried to do leg waves in HS and failed miserably When I see it, I get it but once inverted, it's all wrong. I guess I'll just start doing side to side moves and not worry about when I should bend the knees. On pbars, I'm just puuuuushing that's all. HS consistency was 18/25. Wed-Thur => nil practice wise. This morning I did a mix low frogs so some leaning with knees below my elbows which was fine. Some press to HS, just the skills bit, and HS consistency which was just 15/25, mostly because of kick fails. I did those in the middle of the room so I'm back to my usual training pretty much (except for bent arm stuff). Coffee and Persian are still so so... This week I bought a little cake for the guy who helped me out when I had my bike accident (he owns the news kiosk or at least works there). I'm just sure the city has its bad sides too, we are still in discovery mode. But so far it feels like a really good move Today I did backbends. I'm a bit bored by this work out, it does have a lot of Cirque Physio and sometimes, it is tough to get on with it... I couldn't do elbow stands, obviously, but I did pretty much everything else. Did bridges against the wall and managed to get full boobs onto the wall And then I work on moving from a posterior to an anterior pelvic tilt and back in HS. it's very subtle and hard to for reps actually. I'm also still doing my small pull routine. I only had one coffee with actual caffeine. But I do need to get in bed early enough to catch the first sleep bus, otherwise I'm up till midnight+. Tuesday was press and HS consistency (and some pull). Today was rest. Here is a video log from Tuesday, it has been a while! Sample of: negative trying to pause at the bottom or at least go as slowly as possible press pushes from pbars and trying to float... those are ridiculously hard press from stool, I can manage 1-2 at the beginning usually then I will get stuck with mostly some float time but no press then pressing from stool + yoga blocks, still hard and not pretty but pressing hard, very similar to the handstand puppy pattern that one and finally one set of HS consistency - by then my main issue is simply kick power as you can see, but if I manage the kick, I will usually stick my HS Strength is getting there. And technique too, sometimes I get the press and it feels almost effortless, like everything is just in the right place. But most of the time, I'm stuck having to force brute it, and it's just not very efficient... I feel it in my legs mostly. My legs need to be light and active somehow. Otherwise I have a slight sink during the floating bit, and that makes everything so much harder. So the legs,and daring to lean a bit more than I do... but it has to be an upward lean, not a forward lean (face plant). Very technical, still not quite there. Otherwise E. is a bit unwell because of the heat, he may have had an epileptic attack when I was at work yesterday He does not remember but when I came in, his speech was a bit slurred and he had difficulty moving around. His next appointment with the neurologist is in August. We will see by then how it goes... not sure what we can do till then. Maybe it's a specific strength somewhere that I'm yet to develop. Or some technique. Since Kirsty is quite strong on avoiding the lean if possible, I kinda never really worked it but maybe I'm one those cases who would benefit from training it! Yesterday, rest. Colleagues wanted to go bouldering at lunch time, initially, quite a few people were interested. Then we were 2, and then just me lolz. So I didn't go because in my mind, it's supposed to be quite social, from what I gathered from Mad Hatter's threads... so mhm. Did not happen! Another time I hope. Apparently the CTO is an advanced climber (told you management is cool ). I'm getting better at table football though. And still biking every day! Coffee / Persian / bed: not great, not bad either. Coffee doesn't seem to affect my HS, which is the main reason for limit setting (that and falling asleep early enough). Today I did another round of press to HS, the usual with a bit more of a struggle bus with the stool but hey. Then HS endurance, I had a couple of 40s ones and a last one at about 60s or nearly there. Shape is improving slowly. I gained some stillness I think. The end was tough, I really felt it in my arms.
