There are specialists who help you figure out the medical insurance? That sounds useful.

yes! they are very expensive.

Well, happy moving! I hope everything goes smoothly and last minute stress is at a minimum. (But not zero, because then you wouldn't enjoy as much relief and happiness when you are finally settled in, right?)

Lol I have no idea how you thought you could do it on autopilot either. :P You’re one busy lady! At least there’s lots of fun stuff among the chaos :)

But hopefully worth it in the long run!

oh heyyy we moved! we have boxes kind of everywhere, but it's actually not too terrible. because we now have an office, a lot of the boxes are in there and out of sight. friday night, all day saturday, and all day sunday were spent moving. we did hire movers for the furniture but because there were both awesome and because we had done a lot of the light lifting ourselves, they were done in 2 hours! so glad raptron recommended them. ending up coming in way under budget and felt like a well-deserved luxury.

we unpacked and filled the kitchen first which let me meal prep summer italian chicken stew and an oatmeal bake for the week. then we (mostly Spouse while I cooked) did the bedroom so we'd have somewhere to sleep. our closets are tinyyyy and hangers don't even fit in them because the width is less! so i hung a few essentials and think I may have a fairly cheap workaround for the hangers not fitting.

i also got the bathroom in a workable place, except for the bathroom closet. for which I'm waiting for some organization stuff to come before i tackle that.

Spouse got our internet working so we were able to take breaks to eat pizza and watch an episode of Agents of Shield :) oh, speaking of shows. Good Omens was pretty great. i loved it.

there are a few things left at the old place, and i don't mean a bunch of random stuff! really truly only a few things. two trash bins, two nightlights, and some waters in the fridge. because i had signed up for a 6 month subscription to Handy (don't get it, not worth it) I used it for a cleaning service to come to the old place yesterday after the movers had got everything out. we'll have to wipe down the fridge and maybe go over the inside of the cabinets but that's it!

i'm trying to get a time on the schedule to bring my nice dresses and clothes that I don't want anymore to a consignment shop so I can hopefully make a little dough. anything the local shop won't take I'll send to thredUp. as i mentioned, closet space is precious and I need these things gone!

Ah, yay!! I'm glad they worked out well for you too. I always get nervous when I give recommendations -- like I'm going to jinx it or something. :)

Congratulations on having claimed your new fortress! Boxes are good, actually, because you never know when you might find a surprise fluffy cat in one.

Thanks everyone! it's a big change that i'm having trouble with on the first day... trying to figure out the best goals for the next challenge and how to make sure i'm doing enough simple happy things and also picking away at the laundry list to keep myself sane.
