Return of the Lost Jedi

Oh hi.

 

Of course I didn't vanish for 5 MONTHS LIKE A PLEB. I'd never do that.

 

(whoops)

 

Now to be totally fair, it's been a bloody trainwreck. I was dealing with crippling depression and anxiety, attempting to get my meds right, going through therapy, and working on some SEVERE marital issues. I even quit my makeup blog for a hot minute. But despite everything, I'm back. And I'm doing life again. I'm getting my ish together. Honestly, my ish is SO much more together. 

 

If we're being real, I'm extremely proud of myself. I was hit with SO MUCH. And I took the excruciating pain that I was given and grew with it. I'm a better and stronger person. I'm good. 

 

But between crippling depression, hopelessness, isolation, and a host of other issues, I neglected the h e c k outta my body. I've gained an actual obnoxious amount of weight/body fat. And while I don't entirely think it's related to just those things (I feel like there's a medical issue too), my doctor doesn't agree. She's suggesting things like 120 mins of movement a week and sent me to a nutritionist. I don't entirely like what's going on, but I figured if I'm going to do this then why not do it with my squad, my homies, my NF fam?? 

 

I do need to make some life changes to maybe take better care of my flesh vehicle since Mr. Right and I are saving up for a down payment on a house and after house might come tiny humans! I want to be truly healthy to take care of tiny humans!
 

And honestly, I can't afford financially to keep buying pants every couple months.

 

Just gonna chill here until the August challenge since I'm going to be out of town at the end of the month for many days.

Welcome back, Jedi, from one newly returned Ranger to another. I feel you. I am only just starting to feel like I am getting a handle on my own mental health battles, relationship issues (I hope things are better with you and your husband) and I to, have gained an unholy amount of weight. I am going to turn things around and so can you. Let's meet this challenge together.

Mental health is SOOOO important. My therapist was a literal Godsend. Things are actually stellar with Mr. Right and myself finally :)  We got this!!!

Hi friends, I'm going to talk about what my doctor recommended, and what changes I plan on making and run my ideas past my favorite community ever <3

 

So doc's recommendations

- Food log

- Nutritionist

- 120+ mins of "exercise" weekly

 

I'm doing the food log, and the movement. I'm leery of the nutritionist tbh.

 

Small changes I'm making to start:

- Slowly reduce the amount of sugar in my coffee down to 1-2 tsp

- Finish off my rice and swap it over to brown rice from white rice

- Add a fruit or vegetable to every meal. 

 

What other suggestions do my awesome nerds have??

Cinnamon Toasters cereal with whole milk

Probiotic coffee with creamer and 2 teaspoons of sugar

Lavender lemonade

Like half a jar of salsa mixed with some sour cream eaten on tortilla chips

A few bites of ham/steakum/cheese/egg scramble

Half a scramble burrito

wine/sprite spritzer

 

My dumb butt forgot to eat lunch so I ate SO MUCH CHIPS AND SALSA. Whoops. At least there were veggies involved?

Hoo boy yesterday was bad. Not so much food bad, but just not a good day. Super stressful, lots of drama at home that I don't really wanna deal with right now. But you can see in my food log that I emotionally ate a bit. But that's okay. I wasn't really able to cope with things any other way. I'm most of the time better at coping but yesterday was just rough.

Today is going to be a busy day. Lots of cleaning up since my landlord's real estate agent is coming by to take pictures of our house. Also some grocery shopping. Gotta get me some more fruits and such!

 

Yesterday's food log wasn't so bad. I didn't eat lunch because I ate breakfast at like 11:30.

I think this is the first time I haven't beaten myself up badly over emotional eating. Somehow I was able to give myself grace in the moment since there was SO much going on. I'm getting better at coping mechanisms, but it's normal to go back to comfortable ones when you get thrown really far out of whack. 

 

Me too! This is getting me moving and reminding me that I'm low key in awful physical shape xD Definitely want to work on that a bit.

Yesterday's food log, nothing super major happened. I did get a small snack/meal from McDs between brunch and dinner but I needed the food after all the running around I did yesterday.

Yesterday's food log. All went well until right before bed. I wanted a snack but couldn't figure out what I wanted. I ate a few of a few things until I figured out that I was looking for bread. I gave myself grace for trying to listen to my body. 

 

July 14

Ugh. I've been exhausted recently because I can't sleep. Mix of stress and overheating and the cat waking me up at odd hours -_- I made cookies last night and def ate more than I really truly needed. I've been doing rather a lot of stress eating recently. Understandable, but still kinda frustrating.

We locked the cat out of the bedroom last night and I took a melatonin... I slept for like 10 or 11 hours straight through. I needed it soooo badly.

Yesterday's food was weird. Sat down with my bowl of cereal and found ants in it. Big nope from me. Didn't get anything to eat until like 2:30pm or so. But that meal was like 90% of what I ate yesterday so...

Hi everyone! It was a busy day yesterday, I wasn't on my laptop much. I got to see my family before they left to go to Disney World and I ended up taking up my dog sitting duties :) Mr. Right is here with me for today, but he has to head back to our home today (thanks to work drama...). So it'll just be me for a few days. I'm going to try to get a couple of goals that I start working on this week. 

 

I think I'm going to start stretching in the morning, first of all. I would love to increase my flexibility a bit since after gaining weight I'm struggling there. That will be one of my next challenge goals as well. Secondly, once this heat wave breaks, I'm going to start working on getting my step goal every day. For the moment, it's so hot that sitting here and having my coffee is making me wanna smack someone. I think those two are going to be more than enough for now. I'll keep logging my food and go from there.

 

Friday's food log wasn't great, but not awful either. We ate at a friend's house and I felt weird eating a bunch. So I was SUPER hungry by the time we left. 

 

July 19

Morning everyone! I've been super productive this morning considering that I woke up like 2.5 hours before I normally do (thanks doggo >_>). Despite not being a morning person precisely, I'm kinda enjoying this being up early business. I did stretch this morning, but I'm probably not getting my step goal. Mostly because it's too dang hot to do ANYTHING.

Quick upload of yesterday's food log. I ended up having a bunch of stress from work late at night and I had a glass of wine which made me want more carbs. Not mad because dinner was super low carb. Not mad at all.

Hi everyone! Yesterday was so fun! I went out and got artisan pizza with my grandmother and aunt. I've been spending more time with my grandmother than I have in years and it makes both of us very happy. Only downside is that my southern accent has come back out to play xD 

 

I haven't been doing the darebee dares or stretching like I want to be, but I'm tracking my food in my log fairly well and just enjoying this time with my family. Goal is to start doing some kind of movement during the next challenge. For now, I'm just going to stay the course.

Hi guys, still here, I promise :) It's been a busy couple of days. Friday was busy with family, Saturday I went to a theme park with my in-laws, and today I've been enjoying my last day with my grandmother. I go home tomorrow. I've missed my life, my dog, my cat, and my routine. Husband came back with me after meeting us at the theme park and he's taking me home <3 

 

I think maybe tomorrow or tuesday I'll sit down and journal out a couple of goals for next challenge since it's coming up VERY SOON!!

 

July 26

Made it back to my home!! A few days of weird food thanks to a tight month and not enough food in the house are in progress, but grocery shopping is coming. Gonna be doing my goals for next challenge as well!!

 

July 29

I'm going to ease back into things for next challenge. Here are my goals!

 

 

  • Food log daily
  • 2 hrs exercise every week
  • Only eating out 1 time a week

 

Simple, but still tricky enough to be a challenge!

July 30

Probiotic coffee with creamer and 2 teaspoons of sugar

1 pc supreme pizza (Pizza hut)

2 pcs pepperoni cheese crust pizza (Pizza Hut)

2 buttered rolls

Pear

Tea with sugar and honey

Italian sausage with veggies and cheesy corn

2 cupcakes

 

 

But Mr. Right and myself are slowly starting to work on eating more fresh fruits and veggies and meats. And cooking more often :) We spent like 3 hours at the grocery store today haha
