Alright let's keep things rolling on!

Last challenge was a mixed bag - and ended poorly due to getting sick.

Goal 1 KEEP RUNNING!

Getting in 3 runs a week even if they're just 3 miles is better than no runs at all. 

 

Goal 2  Food prep!

The past couple of weeks have been crazy and not having food in the fridge ready to cook in the evening has lead to the nasty habit of picking up food to go - aka pizza, burgers, etc ...  

 

For us meal prep isn't making ALL the weeks food on Sunday, its more doing the heavy lifting of preparing ingredient for cooking so chopping veg and the like. 

 

 

Goal 3 Work/Life Balance!

I've been stressing out about work of late cause well there's been a lot of things happening. I need to figure out a better way to deal with said stress and not lose my mind!

Goal 4 RPG journal or BUST

Alright my 5E game is wrapping up soon. I've been keeping a GM journal to help me put ideas on paper rather than let them float around my noodle

My goal is to at least once a week take time to work in my GM journal - this could be just tossing out future sessions ideas, working on new mechanics or the like.

Got in 3 miles this morning - felt good to run before work, something about it makes you feel ready for anything the day throws at you ... which I mean lets be honest here is probably NOT the case but those endorphins... man what a drug!

Right? It does boost confidence which, in turn, helps us to tackle quite a variety of things in a better way. I'm very glad I've dropped failing at trying to do some kind of strength workout to rely on what comes more easily to me, a.k.a. running. Go Scouts!

Living life as a Druid is about walking with the beasts. It's about being scared, looking your fears in the eyes and going on anyway. Dread doesn't go away, you just learn to know it. It's still a beast, it still has fangs, but you walk among it.

I get similar highs from strength work - did Strong Lifts 5x5 for 2 months and definitely something amazing about hitting your first triple digit deadlift or squat.

Knocked out 5 miles this morning in some gorgeous weather, mid 50s F (~13°C) with a slight breeze. Couldn't get much better.

 

Did meal prep, mostly veggie prep for salads and such. Broke out the pulled pork we made yesterday into individual containers for easier storage.

Which part bothers you more, the 3 miles or the morning?

 

3+ miles is indeed the way we roll (yourself included). Mornings are negotiable.

 

The word run is the biggie for me.

But I know I will get there.

This morning was 4.25 miles (11m45s/mile pace per the wife)

So my biggest issue with working out in the AM is being hungry all day... I know I know I need to resupply but dang is it tough to get 800 calories at breakfast without feeling dead all day.

Eat like a hobbit :) It's much easier to eat 2 400 calorie meals a few hours apart than a single 800 calorie breakfast.

I suspect that they don’t differ too much from mine. I’m afraid Tank that, like myself,  you have the opposite problem of not being able to eat enough but some people really do struggle with it.

I have toast before running and a protein shake (fruit, protein powder, almond milk and some kind of fat like peanut butter) after (670 calories total...you are presumably bigger than me and need more). I used to feel hungry all day but figuring out a way to add protein and fat made a big difference.

 

What do you usually eat in the morning? I can always find a way to add more calories :-)

Goal 1  Knocked out 3.25 miles this morning at around a 12m17s pace per the wife's fitbit.

 

Goal 2 No food prep this weekend as we're heading to New York City !

It won't look like at all, as this was Jan 2018 and boy was it COLD!

 

Goal 3 Work life balance of late has been CRAP as I'm on a project with weekly deadlines due to the client/owner changing their mind on things that we thought were decided months ago. Need to figure out better ways to disconnect.

Goal 4 Got Band of Blades using my GM store credit so will be reading and harvesting ideas from that in my journal over the next week or two.

Post run is usually Huel (which is ~400 calories) with hemp milk (another 100 calories)

 

I really just need to up my snacks
