Definitely count that cardio!

I don't bullet journal in the prescribed way anymore, but absolutely still use it as a planner. I had to tweak a lot of things to make it useful for what I want/need, but I'm a big fan of having paper plans still. @KB Girl's are extra pretty and information dense though! #bujospo

Week 1, Wednesday

Cardio done at work, lifting done post work--DB rows & reverse hypers. 2/2 weights, 1/2 cardio for the week

Litter scooped, calories tracked, forgot to unload and then re-load the dishwasher. Oops.

Still no further cooking. I think I may need to re-evaluate what I want to get out of this goal, really. 0.5/5 for the challenge

Wednesday resulted in no additional proofing/indexing progress, but I did sit down with my BuJo and put together a collection of tasks that are currently outstanding or that I'm managing at work. It is a lot and not even all-inclusive, just the stuff outside my normal realm of day-to-day that would be in danger of being lost were I not regularly reminded. And of course, I went and volunteered to serve on another cross-departmental project this week, mostly because I have strong feelings of what this particular project could do if it was Done Wrong. heh.

Haha,  I was thinking something almost identical to this :)

This particular gardening session was somewhere in between. Lots of weeding and wandering all over the mulch in front of the house.

It's taken me a long time to realize that dissatisfaction with my clothes means to go look at and sort the clothes that I own, rather than look at and buy clothes that I don't own :) My closet is a lot more controlled and I wear more of the things that I do own. Thinking about what kinds of things I'm missing ("wow, I really need a black sweater since I don't have one, it'll go with these 47 things already in my closet, and I seem to run short of appropriate tops during the work week") makes for less money spent and fewer things in my closet that just sit there staring at me.

Totally counting it.

Today too, since I again had 7k+ steps before lunch. Don't have to do that again until September now, so that's a relief.

I like the very simple, original BuJo concept. No pretty layouts, calligraphy, washi tape or doodles for me. Just bullet points and collections and indices. Getting back to it will be very helpful, I think. I've been feeling a bit out of control and disengaged at work for awhile now and this may help me remember all the stuff that I am doing and keep up on the projects that need attention. We shall see...

Week 1, Thursday

Again with the walking at work which means: 2/2 weights, 2/2 cardio for the week

Calories logged, litter scooped, but I forgot about the dishwasher (remedied this morning)

Proofs/indexing: 5/5 of my chapters are proofed. 3/5 of co-authors' chapters are proofed. No indexing on Thursday, but I've done a BUNCH this morning so things are moving right along.

I've decided to ditch my cooking goal. It's something that I think I'm doing because I think that I 'should' for whatever reason. Could I have more homemade/less processed food? Sure. Is the hypothetical benefit that I would get enough to make me actually do it? History shows a resounding 'No.' I don't enjoy cooking, really don't enjoy the clean up and feel no payoff/satisfaction by making my own meals from scratch. Perhaps I will feel differently at some point in the future, in which case I will revisit this. Since my main goal is calorie tracking anyway, I have no qualms about ditching this as an ancillary goal.

If you really dislike cooking then ditching that goal is the way to go :) it's probably overrated!

Great to hear you're picking up your bujo again! I think the beauty of the system is that it's highly editable and thus can be made to work for everyones personal situation and preferences. When just getting started I always think the best way is to just use it as a journal / brain dump and then you'll start organising along the way.

Well exactly, tweaking is what makes it useful! :)

My bujo use is actually pretty simple/basic, but I guess I've only shared the prettified pages :D

Okay, weekend logging and activities got kind of lost.

Rounding out Week 1:

Friday: calories-yes. dishwasher, litter-no.

Saturday: calories-yes. dishwasher, litter-no.

Sunday: calories-yes. diswasher, litter-no. (are we seeing a pattern here?) Got a good workout in, though and figured out my plan. Dug out an old 'maintenance' style, 2 x week routine that I ran a while back, made some tweaks and got day 1 done on Sunday.

Week 2, Monday

Calories yes. Dishwasher, litter no. (the anti-streak continues)

In a bit of a funk as I mentioned yesterday (thank you @raptron for that twitter feed, the therapeutic power of cats definitely helped) which has extended into today somewhat.

HOWEVER... I finished my portion of the page proofs and indexing. DONE. Everything is due one week from today so I have made myself available to my coauthors should they run into any trouble.

Picked up groceries from curbside pickup at the grocery store yesterday. Waited more than 20 minutes for them to load my groceries. Got home only to realize that they had left the safety mechanism on my bottle of rum, thus there was no way I could remove it nor open the bottle. This resulted in me having to drive back to the store, wait at the empty customer service desk for at least 5 mins (no bell or anything to call anyone) and get them to remove it. Blargh. So glad I paid $5 for that convenience.

Had a chat with my cat's vet this afternoon about his ongoing diarrhea/dehydration/weight loss issues and have something of a plan to see if we can find some way to keep him as healthy as we can while not necessitating an enormous number of pills and injections and general stress. We have no diagnosis, just symptomatic treatment to keep him on the upswing for as long as we can. He's only 11, so this all feels dreadfully unfair.

Tonight's plan is the other half of my maintenance routine, a shower and generally hermit-ing in an effort to repel the mental funk.

There was definitely a brain dump period. If I can get back into the habit, I think this will be a good change for me, particularly at work.

I've had cooking as a goal for more challenges than I can count. I always fail it and I always hate it. Time to get rid of it forever.

Week 2, Tuesday

Calories tracked (at some point I will likely get on the scale, since some of the idea is to lose a bit of accumulated fluff. however, today is not that point), litter scooped, dishwasher emptied/loaded. whee!

Worked out (1/2) no cardio (0/2)

I like this old maintenance routine of mine. I am pleasantly DOMS-ing this afternoon. Two days seems completely doable, I just need to get on the cardio bus on the regular and I should be all good.

Mental funk is still present, though I've identified the cause and it's nothing I can do anything about. Said situation should resolve in the next week so I will endure/try to actively shift my mental attitude until then.

Week 2, Wednesday

What did I even do yesterday? I don't know.

Tracked cals, didn't scoop litter, but did unload/load dishwasher before bed.

Got refills on Rx for cat to see if we can make him gain some weight and stop with the diarrhea and whatnot. He's stable though really skinny, but I don't have high hopes that we'll be able to do much for him long term and I will be absolutely *WRECKED* if/when it comes time to let him go.

Got lots of steps in for work reasons this morning. Will lift and treadmill (if I can gather the oomph) after work this evening.

Poor kitty. Big hugs.

Hope you find some oomph! If nothing else, sometimes it can help shake off too many thoughts on other things.

He's in good spirits and normal energy levels so I'm hoping the end is far enough away that I'll be able to come to terms with it. Once he starts to act sick, then there will be trouble.

I think the realization that you were only doing cooking challenges because of some vague idea that you should be tells me you absolutely made the right call in nixing that one.

Week 2, Friday

Didn't scoop litter, tracked calories, unloaded/loaded the dishwasher.

Week 2, Saturday

Worked out (3/2 lifting, 1/2 cardio), scooped litter, tracked calories, didn't load the dishwasher.

Week 2, Sunday

Didn't scoop litter, tracked calories, loaded the dishwasher and ran it.

Week 2 Summary

Not too shabby. I'm more interested in my lifting goal than my cardio goal so I'm reasonably happy there.

Litter scooping is MUCH more regular if not daily, so also good

My kitchen is generally less full of dirty dishes, so this is a positive as well.

Week 3, Monday

Worked out (1/2 lifting, 0/2 cardio) and wound up with a slightly angry shoulder. I neglected my warm up, which is something I should know better by now. Apparently I was in need of a reminder.

Scooped litter and found what appears to be some very bloody urine. No idea which of the two cats left this deposit :( Neither of them seem painful, so I will have to watch them more closely to determine which of them is brewing a UTI. Boy cat has all of the current health problems and has had a urinary blockage in the past so maybe him, but it was in the box that girl cat usually uses, so it's a mystery for the moment.

Tracked cals, have yet to unload the dishwasher from Sunday so stuff is starting to build up... need to tackle that tonight for sure.
