Let's kickstart our mobility training and do 7 days in a row of mobility work for week 1! Any sort of mobility work you want to do, for any length of time. The idea is just to do it every day.

I always start my weeks on Monday for challenge goals, but feel free to start Sunday if that's what you prefer.

@Sylvaa and @Maigs are in - anybody else?

Obviously I'm in :)

Is there anything in particular people are working on? Are you doing stretches on your own, going to yoga classes, doing Youtube videos?

For me I'll be focusing on my legs/hips and my shoulders. I'll be doing mostly Youtube videos while I find stretches and routines that work well for me but I may just do them on my own some days if time gets too short

I'm all over the place so right now my goal is to just do SOMETHING consistently. Yoga videos work really well for me when I do them, but even just some stretches on my own will help a lot.

My worst mobility issues are my left shoulder and right hip, but I also just really need to do overall mobility/stretching because I've been getting really stiff lately.

I may or may not count as starting yesterday since I'm a "the week starts on Sunday" person but yesterday was an odd day. I did get some stretching in, but it was just me sitting on the floor trying to not fall asleep while stretching out my poor legs and hips after spending the entire day on my feet at the zoo. So I did stretch, and it helped, but it wasn't quite what I was planning on

I think if you stretched and it helped, that's plenty!

Ok, I did a 15 minute yoga video to kick this thing off. I didn't really have a plan so I just found a random video I had bookmarked, but I should probably come up with an actual strategy.

So I have a really neat Instagram I follow (linked here). She has a lot of flow-type videos that are appropriate for mobility work. I did her video from yesterday before I did the rest of my workout.

Just looking at her pictures makes me feel like I stretched. :D

So for Day 2 I sort of ran out of time and ended up doing 10 minutes of 1-2 minute stretch holds. Pigeon, pancake, etc. It was enough that it definitely counts but I also felt like I was cheating somehow?

My plan for day 3 is to either do some yoga or try out that shoulder video Maigs shared. What about you guys?

I kept pushing off stretching until it was too late last night so I missed a day. Tonight will be a rushed session at best since we're hosting game night and people will probably already be there when I get home and will be there until after 10pm at which time I'll be a pumpkin

I did a YWA session.

How was it? For a while I was keeping up with her weekly emails but now I'm about a bajillion behind.

Yeahhh that's always the thing with stretching - it's so easy to push off.

Meh, it was all about finding your breath this week, which was not really all that mobility'ish. So then I did a sun salutation video.

Yeahhhh, I kept hitting a lot of meditation-y or breathing videos from her after a while, which is part of why I stopped doing them as much. I love meditation, but when I do yoga I want to do yoga.

I didn't do so great yesterday. At about 10:30 I was getting ready for bed and realized "OH NO I WAS SUPPOSED TO DO YOGA TODAY!!" I did about 4 minutes of toe touches for the sake of doing some deliberate stretching, but it was pretty lame.

Today I did some lacrosse ball rolling and some stretching after my morning workout, but I do also plan to do a full routine later too. I also found out that someone from my Crossfit box goes to the same yoga studio that I sometimes go to, so we might go to a class together sometime!!

I squeezed in some leg stretches between gaming and bed. I spent a few minutes in a compromising looking position leaning over the bed trying to stretch out the back of my legs. By the end I could touch my toes which is progress for me

I did this video tonight which was a bit stretchy than I was hoping for but not too bad. I stretched my legs out a little more right after and will probably work on toe touches before crawling into bed

Hello. I’m glad I found this thread even if I’m jumping in a little late. I could use a little accountability with my mobility goal. I’m trying to make a habit of stretching every night before bed.

Last night I did that shoulder video Maigs shared, and it was great! Rough at the beginning, but my shoulders needed it.

Today I'm debating between doing more yoga and trying a trial membership of either ROMWOD or MobilityWOD. Part of the reason I wanted to do this challenge was to get an idea of what kind of mobility work to do going forward since I'm all over the place. On the other hand, sometimes it's easier to just do some yoga.

It's very rough, but definitely something I need to do once a week or so. It really helped show how bad my shoulder mobility is

I did not get in any stretching yesterday. No real excuse. It was Hub's birthday, but we had the whole day off so I had plenty of time
