Asa Pond
Hey Team. Update on me: My back injury is looking like it might lead to surgery and, really, any type of exercise (including walking!) is out. So this challenge is 100% nutrition and eating based. I'm starting with the 28-day reset made by Casey Ho. It's an elimination / clean eating meal plan that I am going to try and stick to as rigorously as possible. I'll be subtracting dairy (easy - I honestly rarely eat dairy anyway), Gluten , sugar , and processed grains (for sure the hardest). I'll also be trying to focus on more mindful eating. It's not too assassin-y of a challenge - but I can't bear to leave you guys. <3 1 Quote Fallaces sunt rerum species et hominum spes fallunt. Link to comment
Grandkai_NL
I've been away for a while, may i ask what caused the back injury? And perhaps its not too assassin-y but no good assassin can perform without good nutrition so its still going to be a great challenge! 1 Quote Current Challenge Instagram | Duolingo | TrueAchievements (Xbox) | Goodreads | Twitch (no activity as of late) Past challenges here Link to comment
raptron
Oh nooo. It is an old injury from, like, 12 years(?) ago, that happened when a horse flipped over on me and caused a couple compressed discs in my low back. Unfortunately, they've gotten a lot worse with the increased amount of sitting I do as I get older and get into desk jobs. (I can't wait until I'm out of law school, no longer an intern, and can request a standing desk.) This current one was triggered by an Orange Theory workout and has caused a LOT of pain throughout the summer. 14 minutes ago, raptron said: Oh nooo. What kind of intervention are your doctors considering? Well, we went the whole PT route and, if anything, it made it worse. So now I'm waiting on my neurologist appointment. My guess will be steroid injections and then, more than likely based on the MRI, my level of pain, and the lack of improvement from less aggressive forms of treatment, surgery. We'll see though. Honestly - I'm ready and willing to go as aggressive as they want right now because I'm sick of being in pain. Quote Fallaces sunt rerum species et hominum spes fallunt. Link to comment
Asa Pond
It's my last week as my summer associate position so I have started the elimination meal plan yet. For now - my eating plan is just... eat less junk more good. We are also getting tons of food and drinks paid for for us and I'm trying to take advantage of that while also still trying to remain a bit healthy. BUT good news is: I just had my end of summer review and the practice group leader said it was an excellent eval and I couldn't be happier. Cross your fingers and send good vibes that I get a full time offer next week! Quote Fallaces sunt rerum species et hominum spes fallunt. Link to comment

Just got my referral and given how hard it's been to see specialists here on a decent timeline it's probably going to be awhile. 1 Quote Fallaces sunt rerum species et hominum spes fallunt.
