    • Darebee 1:1 Meal Challenge – eat low carb, every other day for 15 days. I will be doing this on the off days when I’m not doing the modern hero mealplan to go with the foundation workout program.
    • Modern Hero Mealplan – a mealplan focused on weight loss and weight maintenance by focusing on healthier and balanced food choices. My noom membership expired, so this is my way of trying to stay on target with eating right.
  • Fitness
    • Core Control Challenge – Torso twists and side leg raises, alternated daily, building up to 200 leg raises over 30 days. I’ll be using this to keep my movement up when I’m not in the Foundation Program. This will only go through 12 days, but it’s better than nothing.
    • Foundation Light Level 1 - The Foundation Light is a low impact 100% bodyweight based fitness program perfect for anyone with joint issues, recovering from an injury or is heavily overweight. It is also perfect as bodyweight training introduction and getting in sync with your body. All routines are 100% bodyweight based, they include cardio and strength days as well as stretching and some light martial arts elements. I’m going to treat it as a boot camp commitment and really get through this 30 day program. My goal is to build up fitness so I can be ready for hiking as it starts to cool down. The goal there is to hike to a landmark called Potato Chip Rock. It’s a 6.6 mile hike that takes 3-4 hours and covers 1800-2000 ft elevation.

      • I have a lot of art projects, and keep coming with more ideas. So my goal is to be creative at least 4 days a week, and I’m going to start a project list with due dates so I can prioritize where I’m spending my time.
      • Crochet – Havana lap blanket (by Christmas)
      • Crochet – Summer Shawl
      • Crochet – Fall décor
      • Drawing – Hockey Art (9/25)
      • Drawing – in the style of Ann Piersall (http://bristleconedesigns.com)
      • Drawing – Zentangle wooly mammoth
    • Green Witch Path
      • I was introduced to magical self-healing and it really resonated with me, so I’ve ordered another book from the author Arin Murphy-Hiscock called The Green Witch: your complete guide to the natural magic of herbs, flowers, essential oils and more. I want to continue learning more about this path, and so I’m going to work on my learning and put new pages in my journal for the following:
      • Essential oil profiles
      • Gemstone profiles
      • Moon phase profiles
      • Autumnal Equinox ritual (9/21) – stretch goal - meal plan
      • Wheel of the year (10/31) – maybe, this is not strictly on the green witch path

That's a lot of elevation! It sounds like a really nice goal to have.

Wow, that's a heck of a hike.  Is that 3-4 hours each way?

at some point, I will have to look into that Green witch path author. I am curious about it.

I think you're already on the path, even if you don't consciously know it, based on what I see and know about you from your posts you definitely would appreciate this. I think it would affirm your connection more than anything. That's always a nice thing :)

According to the people on the web... it's for the whole hike. I've never been there or even in the area. My friends want to do so I just latched on to the group that wants to go.

    • Darebee 1:1 Meal Challenge – So far on target. I'm at the 200 level again for weight, last week I dipped below for a day, so I'm dancing right there on the border. Today is low carb day and I'm having cauliflower pizza for lunch, looking forward to that in a way I shouldn't be :)
  • Fitness
    • Core Control Challenge – 2 for 2. sort of... I have had to dial back the leg raises, but I'm getting it done.

        • Crochet - holster hip bag
        • Costume - scabbard for pirate sword
      • Haven't been creative this week unless you call thinking through things...
    • Green Witch Path
      • Read about invoking the elements and cleaning and purifying the home. This chapter really resonated with me.

    • Darebee 1:1 Meal Challenge – 3.6 for 4 - Missed one day, one of my daughter's coworkers made food and so we opted to just eat that for dinner instead of what I'd had planned, so that introduced carbs. But it was only one meal of the day and I continue to keep on. Did gain a little yesterday, but fluctuation is normal for me.

      • Still haven't actually crafted. We plan to make tonight an art night after dinner, so I'll get some in tonight.
    • Green Witch Path
      • More about the elements, also learning about the senses and more. I'm going to read through the book once and then go back over it more slowly to really absorb and start putting things in my journal then. The path is very unstructured, and I tend to be drawn to things with structure so this is a challenge for me. Today is the Harvest Moon... a full moon on Friday the 13th (in my timezone, PST) and also a micromoon... it's quite the day so I'm wearing my moonstones and trying to feel the current and think about things I need to release and let go of. I'm seriously craving some outdoor mountain air, so that will be high on my list of things to do this weekend.

    • Started the Modern Hero Mealplan. I did a poor job of planning so I found this challenging and ended up cheating a few times but I largely did good. At one point this week I saw 195 on the scale, for the first time in probably 5 or 6 years, not counting being sick. I also feel like I've adjusted better and have done a much better job planning this week. When I do cheat, it's to have a beer, or a single cookie maybe, so I'm not even cheating bad and I think it all balances it.
  • Fitness
    • Foundation Light Level 1 - I did start this, but only got three days in, counting today. I am finding the workouts manageable and fast, but I just had a rough week fighting a cold so I let my body rest when it told me I needed to.

      • Crochet – Fall décor
      • Drawing – Hockey Art (9/25)

      • I have done nothing with this and am feeling it. I didn't even get to do anything focused for welcoming fall so I'm trying to work that in today instead.
    • PoGo
      • I leveled up to 21 and am finally figuring out some of the nuances of the gaming.

I am going to set up my bullet journal tracker, even with my Google Sheet, I don't do as good a job tracking or staying on top of the things I commit to.

Work has been incredibly busy/stressful and I'm finding that it is really draining my energy so I've been doing a lot more laziness in evenings instead of working out and leveling up. I'm hoping this week things will start to settle down, but we'll see.

How do you like the low carb days? I always imagine them being very hard, has it been okay for you so far?

I actually didn't have a lot of trouble with it because I knew it was time boxed and I only had to survive for 24 hours before I could have carbs again.

Honestly I've had more trouble sticking to no carbs at night, even when I can have carbs with breakfast and lunch... It doesn't make sense to me.

Did you get to the mountains this weekend?

I have not made it the mountains no, we made it to the beach instead. This weekend we didn't do anything because my daughter fell on Friday and wasn't very mobile. Next weekend we ARE going to the mountains, we have plans with family that lives up in the mountains, so it'll happen.

I love the art. I wish I had that talent. There is this little creature from a video game Youngest Agent and myself play that I have seen people crochet. I would love to figure out how to. I did try once, but I kept making triangles and weird shapes instead of squares. I kinda wish I could make myself and Youngest Agent a pair of them for Christmas.

Hopefully your daughter is feeling better.

Today, I decided, on an impulse to sign up for Teachable. I want to try my hand at producing an online course and see if I can find a new way to make income. I found out last week that I have 2 years in my job before I reach top of scale and it got me thinking about what I want to do with my career, and I've always wanted to work for myself and have more flexibility.

So here I am.

What have I done?

I suck at counting stitches when crocheting and I have the same problem lol. I made a bunny for my niece and it is the most special rabbit ever. Looks like it belongs in the land of misfit toys. But hey added character I guess?

What kind of course would you like to teach?

I'm going to start with a course on self-care. I think I have good information to share on that and it will give me something relevant and meaningful to try out the platform with.

In some culture's the belief is that only the Almighty is perfect so artisans will intentionally put an imperfection into their work. I myself, have never finished a crochet project with the exact count... like you said, it adds character :)

This is such a cool subject :). Is it about the complete package of physical, emotional, mental and social self-care, or just a part of it? There's so much information (whether helpful or not) out there about it, so it would be cool if someone actually makes a division between helpful and unhelpful for certain population groups.
