miss_marissa Posted September 25, 2019 Author Report Share Posted September 25, 2019 OK ya'll so I intended to post goals at some point last week, but things got a touch crazy. Sorority recruitment was all weekend of the 7-8 and 14-15 (I volunteer). Then I ended up winning tickets to see the Jonas Brothers! (Squuueee) and saw their concert Tuesday night. And then I got sick over the weekend with a pretty bad cold and just laid around sleeping and feeling garbage. Cool things that happened tho: JONAS brothers concert was fantastic. In which I also invited a friend I had not seen in a few years (since I moved) and it was nice to catch up. Recruitment went well Starting the new position with ES is off to a bumpy start, September is consistently my craziest month of the year, so I'm looking forward to a little more stability and routine with this. My ultimate and softball teams are both doing really well. I'm learning a lot with the ultimate team. We hooked up the N64 and I've been doing a play thru of Banjo Kazooie <3 (my fav game) I'm not a gamer so it's fun to be better than my bf at a video game I'm thru the bubblegloop swamp onto freezeasy peak, but not 100% done because I'm a completionist. I will have to go back to get all the notes in Clankers Cavern (#justice4Clanker) and missing 1 jiggy in the swamp, but I gotta get the speedy shoes first (I forget what they are called) from a higher level. I am feeling better as of today. 95% of the way to normal In my illness I watched thru the latest season of the Flash, I'm 2/3 of the way thru the latest season of Arrow, and I'm up to the crossover event in Supergirl. None of them are good. #helpIcan'tquit #sobadbutIcan'tstop Mr J has been off work on vacation for the past 2 weeks or so and so we (mostly him) have been completing a lot of house projects. We did a small retaining wall around a little garden near the driveway and installed some additional shelving in the basement. Also, wall mounted some TVs. I've started gathering the black walnuts to harvest which is a chore and a half, but I'm hoping will be worthwhile for some tasty nuts. With the latest event in Pokemon Go I finally hatched a Farfetch'd and Kangaskhan and filled out my Kanto dex So looks like I'm starting today instead of whenever this was supposed to start. I had a save file in the game, but it's been SOOOO long since I played I restarted because I was garbage. For those who are too lazy to google, they grow in a green husk. So you must collect the nut-balls and remove the husks with your hands. But they contain dye so be careful to wear gloves and clothes you don't care about. Then they must be rinsed multiple times to remove any lingering husk meat. Then dried/roasted for a few weeks to really mature the flavor. Took this morning off because I am a bit sore, and also today is cardio and I have ultimate tonight, so I didn't want to do cardio in the morning and in the evening, mostly because I didn't want to shower twice. Might still do it tonight? Might not. 3) nutrition goal?So I thought about this a lot over the weekend and I feel kind of in a dilemma. Spoiler I'm at the point where I am content with where I am, but also want to make a change to take things to the next level. But I am not sure what that should be. I went back to take a look at some goals I had written at the beginning of the year and absolutely zero of them are nutrition related. One of them is a "sober month". I don't particularly want to count things. And I spent about 6 months before the house craziness writing everything down, but then doing nothing with that to analyze or change any of my habits. I don't really want to do paleo, but I would do a paleo ish. Like eliminate dairy and do less sugars. I mostly just don't want to do too much tracking/counting because I'm worried about getting trapped in a destructive cycle. But my weight has been on an increasing trend, in a not great way, but not awful either. I've gained about 5 lbs/year over the past 4 years. Which there is nothing wrong with that, I'm still pretty comfortable in my body. But I've noticed especially since the wrist injury, where my activities have taken a different turn my BF% is creeping up and clothes fitting a bit different. Mostly want to ensure I don't have to buy a new wardrobe. I also know I've let a lot of bad habits creep back into my routine. Drinking at home multiple nights a week. Unhealthy snacking + desserts. Too much fast food (blaming J on this one) I'd like to get things back to a bit more of an autopilot type situation. Maybe have a few healthy, easy to make meals on rotation. Some frozen meals I could easily heat up ICE, and 1 or 2 more complex meals to make. Breakfasts also need to be more consistent. About half the time it's just a shake. *SIGH* so I think maybe I answered some of my own questions with that ramble. My 4th goal will be to do my fall capsule before the end of the challenge. I think my colors will be mustard yellow, olive green and a deep/dark red (I guess maroon? more brown than purple). I haven't done many meal prep services, but I have started to shortcut my cooking and haven't noticed any negative impacts as a result. I'm eating more couscous and quinoa instead of rice or longer prep grains because they're like 5-10 minutes to cook. I do lots of veg stir-fries that aren't that exciting but cook really fast. If I'm running late or just need to eat something RIGHT NOW, I usually have canned fish on hand (tuna and/or salmon) that I can mix with all sorts of things and be happy eating. Auto-pilot options on the back burner would be just great to have around.
