Oooh, those pancakes sound great!

They were alright, but the batter was not all tok smooth. I think I will try letting the oats soak a bit before baking next time. I probably do not have the right type (ready to go instead of rolled) but I do not feeling buying more when I have had a pack to finish for a while. :p

Hmm ran out of ideas to do to recharge. I thought it would be the nice dinner  saladI bought myself at the western asian place (the type thay sells pokébowls and such and looks like a fancy subway place), that I could enjoy the background noise but it was not really that enjoyable. Salmon salad was gooood though. I will definitely start buying edamame beans to eat as snacks.

Maybe not try to rediscover the wheel and just enjoy a nice hot shower with a mask and treat my feet/legs again. I wore higher heels yesterday bc I wanted to see how that would go.

I would like to report it went quite well, and I am getting a better hang of how I have to place my feet. The revelation that I have feet that are a bit flat made me notice I was putting a Loooot of pressure on the inside of my soles instead of out.

So of course that is where they would hurt. And of course my ankles would not feel happy. Focusing my weight on the outside - like feet are meant to be used - made it easier to strengthen my "ankle muscles". It  was quite the workout :') I had to walk double the time I had planned to because the bus I needed would not arrive for like half an hour. Fun times though, really. Maybe I will one day be able to walk effortlessly on high heels after all. (Not for more than half a day of walking for sure, but that is my goal / wish anyway.)

Also, this week I really do not care about sleep apparently. I must not start to rely on the days I do not have to get up and just get 7-8 hrs everyday! Makes me a better everything! Even though apparently the vegges etc are keeping me energetic. (And my usual two cups of coffee a day. Usually I do one mild one strong.)

Haha, heels always take practice! And different strategies for different heights. :D

Yay veggies! But sleep IS the king. :)

And yeah, it doesn't have to be novel to be a nice treat for yourself. Nice showers and skin care are great self-rewards for a reason.

Oh yes, this. "Simple" pampering is a wonderful thing for a reward. :) Kudos to you for doing the heels, and noticing the imbalance. Keep up the practice and you'll be rocking them all day long in no time.

Had some exercise yesterday (thursday), probably going to this evening as well.

Hmf I am picking up spending lots of time on my mobile, and even browsing stuff for an hour on my laptop.

Also chatted a looot with a friend the other day. Which is fun but I did not pick up the slack in the next days.

Meditations helped, the first time this week I could not ease my mind at all, this morning was a lot better.

I am having a moment of fear of failure. It is not a crippling one but definitely a moment that is sending my thoughts all over the place. Wish I was one of those people that that fear made them work focused & tirelessly :p then realise wishing for stuff does not make them happen.

It is just time to recenter again. Get up, get out & get at it.

I guess it is clear what my answer is to my genuine curiosity about the numbering system: I like doing it with one item I can easily count & do not have to track seperately or remember :) e.g. with the meditations I really have no idea unless I update & post every single time.

Oh well, fun trial! Maybe it will work at another point in my "quest" of life.

Making this decision explicitly so I do not keep thinking about how I might track it again:p

No exercise today. It will be another type of 1 day exercise a week type of week.

But I had a real nice flow today, got my fruit dosage in. Not enough veggies but otherwise overall good weekend nutrition (incl sweet treats but w/in measure I think & I00000000 feel alright.)

Aaalright so mini-quest for tomorrow: NO youtube browsing or anything else besides my morning routine in the morning.

And just stay active. Lots of little things can be done in the inbetweens or instead of reading webnovels or so in breaks.

There’s no difference between a pessimist who says, “Oh, it’s hopeless, so don’t bother doing anything,” and and an optimist who says, “Don’t bother doing anything, it’s going to turn out fine anyway.” Either way, nothing happens.

—YVON CHOUINARD, founder of Patagonia

Hahaha, this quote perfectly summarises how I have been feeling when I started my journey a while ago. I had gone through both passively but cheerfully doing things and dealing with them as they come & hopeless down time.

In my case, though that is not how everyone works, both states had me settling for m circumstances and not forming my life actively. :)

Oof, no exercise for me this week it seems. Genuinely sad. And I ate a loooot of chocolate. Family went to a chocolate factory and brought home delicious stuff.

Buuut writing this assignment is even more 'meh' than the other. So I indulged and 1 pm I stopped myself and have not snacked yet so I should make it until tomorrow! Also had veggies and fruit.

The assignmemt makes me feel incredibly incapable. This is not my area. The system of this law does not make sense to me, even though when someone explains it to me I understand why it is the way it is.

Although I know I am not aiming to specialise in this subject matter, and I expected this. family law (and therefore inheritence stuff too) stuff always makes me overthink and feel less than happy about people being people.

BUT it serves a purpose and I will make it.

It is a group assignment too and my team mates get it.

See that also makes me feel bad. I am usually able to contribute a lot and usually take a leading role but now I am just doing stuff in order to justify me getting the same grade as them. I feel uncomfortable but oh well.

This weeks battle may be a Pyrrhic victory if any at all, but I am not going to give up.

When other people do their best but can't quite contribute as much as you do, how do you feel about them? What would you say to them in that situation if they came to you with what you've said above?

Life is give and take, everyone needs a leg up now and then.

Ah, thanks. Those are good points. :)

Today I gave myself a break. Only summarised a journal article.

Kind of unsure how to proceed. Sort of smth like this:

*survive until Thursday after defending our choices for this assignment/sort of a presentation with critical questions is my guess.

*look at to-do list for this week until 5 november and allocate resources and time as needed.

*exercise once this week.

Holy moly. That went pretty alright today.

It is so nice to work with people like my group.

I enjoy the fact that unlike most people, I do not have a set few of people I always do an assignment with, it is really priceless that the relatively few group projects I have had to do these last 6 years have all been with different combos etc.

Meant that I also had one terrrible experience but that also really held up a mirror in front of me. Most were so-so and 2-3 were really satisfying Team work.

Now to get to bed before I go on a philosophical tangent. Last week. Really want to relax my muscles in the morning + work out in the evening. Have my morning and evening routines on point again.

Nice, glad that worked out for you. A solid group makes such a difference. Here's to resuming the daily routines.

So these were the goals:

Fitness and health:
*Now really, at least 2 times exercise per week.
*Eat optimally for my body. Eat ENOUGH during the day, so I can stop at 7 PM. Drink enough, eat enough vegetables and fruit.
*Just take the damn micronaps if I have time and need them. Drowsily plowing on does not work for me.
*Meditate (micro-meditations count) daily.
*NEW: Do something TRULY and fully relaxing once a week. Lean into it and recharge.

Life
*Keep academic skills levelled/increase them (longer than 1 challenge period)

-(0/3) If not researching/writing, look for potential topics for Thesis No. 2. Boil it down to 3 topics.
-(0/15) Find 5 relevant sources for each topic.
-(0/2 or 3, need to check) Check topics suggested by Supervisor No. 1.

* (0/1) Switch to autumn wardrobe.

* (0/1) BONUS: Bake smth with almond flower.

* (0/1) BONUS: Finish the last summer organising task.

Friday (week 42):

Yoga + hot shower+ massages. (Last week I felt like I could not spare myself the time to really recharge but this week I treated myself again.)

Drank enough water.

Saturday:

Went to a spinning class.

Drank enough water.

Sunday (today):

Planning to drink water. No exercise probably, just regular yoga in between doing stuff because I really need to get on with my course work AND start revising. And some householdy things to do.

So it is going to be about 3 weeks this challenge with just 2 workout, 1 week without a workout. (Zero week + the first 2 weeks I did hit my 2 workouts a week goal.) But I like where my body is going and am pumped to do more when I can.

Also consistently eating well enough during the day and. It is nothing new but every day and week makes me so pumped because I have never lasted so long eating the way I have said I would.

Meditations happen, (micro)naps when needed.

I have been looking for potential topics. I have 1 concrete one written down, 2 vague ones. So basically just one because the question relevant to whether you can write about something is: is there a bite out of the academic knowledge I can claim and make up a research question for.

That is also interesting to me, of course.

More on that after my tests. Or maybe when I do not feel like studying but will not let myself relax. :)

Yay! It sounds like you'll keep trying to find the time for it, which is important. :)

Yesss,  :D

In the mean time...

Not feeling studying at all. Not a productive Monday.

But you know what? I am not alone and this is zero week. Zero week will be filled with Great Study Days and Moving and Healthy and Tasty Food.

I am speaking it into existence. And will then act it into existence. :p Let's go!

Sooo. New challenge first draft (concepts):

Keeping the rest/eat and drink well/physiotherapy items.

Keeping the minimum of 2 exercise moments.

Keeping the necessary meditations & if-necessary (micro)naps items.

Keeping the recharge quest.

Keeping the life items (make a Rory Gilmore-but-if-she-had-human-needs besides coffee revision schedule for the coming 2 weeks)

I am considering adding either a running quest (if the Exam Commission lets me exchange a course I have already had at a master level for a different course, cause then my mornings will be free. I was a bit late with submitting that request because I was led to believe I can only sumbit it AFTER the academic year begins... But I mean. It is almost the same material. And my first uni's exam questions are usually a lot more open than this one's. Hope they will not pretend this university's course is More Demanding because on PAPER it requires 28+19 hours more study time. Those numbers are complete bull crap.)

Or a flexibility quest.

Maybe exchange one of the life items for a "review the damn seminars quickly after each lesson or lecture, so you do not have to worry that much about having to learn things you did not remember just before the exam weeks".

We shall see.

Wait! Are you saying you can live on other things than pure coffee and maybe some sugar and/or milk/cream from time to time?

Yes! Running is really great to energize the body and get thoughts in place (at least, it is for me). The flexibility quest sounds great too.

Looks like you're pretty set regarding your needs and where you want to go. Have fun with week zero. :)

I still kinda need proper shoes for running, especially because I have somewhat flat feet and am too cheap to get fitted soles but I figured if I start the None2Run program again. That is doable and will not get me anywhere near an injury any time soon before I get proper running shoes.

I also, happen to have too many shoes and am.pretty sure getting through the n2r program will take ages so not in a hurry to go to a store... :p

Kind of miss climbing too but you need a buddy for that. I did it for a shooort while.

But lets focus on what is easy and requires minimum will power points when other habits will take enough.

Just have to see how my schedule will be. :)

Decent running shoes are to running what a good chef knife is to cooking: it's the difference between "all the fun" (ALL OF IT!) and "oh, well, maybe I like it?". That being said, comfortable sneakers are good enough running shoes for me and can be used for enough other things to fit into even the fanciest shoes collections. I've had feet aches running with hybrid oxford shoes thinking they were, like most of my other gear, versatile enough to be one-size-fits-all for all my needs (while they actually applied undue pressure at the basis of my feet). I'd say go for it but if you realize you're getting some aches, do go out and treat yourself to a new pair of shoes fitting your specific needs and feets.

Also this. So. Much. This. You've got this, go for it!
