Sylvaa Stands after a Stumble

So I've been struggling. It's weird because I've been more consistent with my diet, seeing weight trend down, but I'm less satisfied with everything than I have been previously. There are a number of things that are contributing to this that are being addressed. That being said, there are things I can bring back into my routine that should help me.

 

  • Use my planner daily - at least M - F. Start and end the day by reviewing my planner and stick to it. Include at least 5 tasks to complete through the day (M - F make these work related; weekends will most likely be housework related). 
  • Do something active every day - there is no component of what this is at this point, just at least 30 minutes of some kind of movement. I have so many resources available, there really aren't a lot of reasons not to do this. Alternatively, I can substitute hitting 2x my daily step goal for the movement goal.
  • Complete a weekly to do list - this will be outside of the daily planner. Most of this is getting ready for the upcoming holidays (i.e. deep cleaning of house areas and ordering Christmas presents).

Update:

  • Monday
    • List wasn't in effect as I wasn't sure how I was going to implement when I started my day. It is now up and running
    • Went to the gym
    • Weekly to do list wasn't in effect either as I'm still creating
  • Tuesday
    • Nothing happened yesterday. I've been leveling in WoW, hit 60 Monday night, then ended up getting run through basically the entire Onyxia quest chain to get attuned. I hadn't planned on being online like I was, but I literally spent 8 hours playing to get it all done. Turned out to be a good thing as there weren't enough spots for MC if the husband and I hadn't done so and chances are I would have gotten in and he wouldn't. We ended up running with no wipes. Coincidence that it was my first raid with the group? I don't think so!

Week 1 Update #1:

  • Used my planner Mon. I know I stay more on target when I use it, I just get lazy. I am definitely in an end of project rut. 
  • Went to the gym Mon. I am starting to get a cold or something, so it wasn't great, but I did my time.
  • My to do list for this week
    • Clean dining room (will be waiting until the weekend as I'm not home)
    • vacuum den (keeping up with what has already been accomplished)
    • Finish cleaning off desk
    • Order at least 10 Christmas presents for people

This past weekend actually went really well. It's interesting being an adult and trying to balance being involved in WoW and taking care of business. It's actually not as much of a struggle as I thought it would be. So that is nice. 

 

I baked a lot this past weekend. I made Lebkuchen and Zucchini Muffins, which was fun and were appreciated by the family. I also actually got it together and planned next weekend's dinners around the requests I made in the veggie box that will get to the house this Friday.

Week #1 Update #2:

  • Used my planner while on the road. I need to make this an at home priority too, however I'll take what I can get at the moment.
  • Did a workout in my hotel room Tuesday, Wednesday was travel, then nothing yesterday. My ear was bothering me, which was a sign of sinus issues, so I took some medicine and ended up passing out.
  • Currently looking at Christmas lists to start shopping. Haven't ordered anything yet, but mainly because I try to hit sales. I have a lot of ideas from kids though.

Need some good thoughts from everyone - there is a potential for a big change coming for the Sylvaa household. Not sure when we'll know, but at the earliest, it will probably be late next week. 

 

I've also been on a big cooking kick recently. The posole is in the crock pot for today and tomorrow we are looking at a Halloween party set up for dinner. I'm very excited.

My current state of abject negativity is preventing even the slightest formation of any positive thoughts.

Week 2 Update 1:

  • Gym'd it last night (Monday). I always get more surprised than I should that working out makes me feel better. This isn't news. 
  • Have used my planner every day through the work week (so far). It's not hard when I'm on the road. At home is harder, but I'll get there. In two weeks, I should have some time at home, which will make it worthwhile to get into better habits now.
  • I did get most of my to do list from last weekend done. The only thing I didn't do was the Christmas shopping. 

My husband and I spent all weekend on different pages and weren't communicating well. I let things go on Sunday because it was his birthday weekend and I thought he deserved to do what he wanted to do. Then, he ended up feeling bad because he'd completely forgotten we'd made plans to do things Sunday. 

 

I also spent Saturday cooking up a Halloween themed dinner for the family. It was super tasty if I do say so myself. But it was also a lot of work, so I'm glad it's not something I do regularly. My house is finally looking fairly nice (at least the main floor) before the family comes for the Holidays. I'm finally getting into a schedule that works for me.
