Samantha's 28 Day Challenge

Mine is broken up into three parts:

March 1 - March 10: STRAPLESS DRESS (for Formal, 3/10)

* Work out every one of these 10 days - half hour on treadmill or similar

* Eat only one candy snack a day

* Work arms until they hurt, so at least if they don't look any better, I'll feel like they look better

* Work abs

March 11 - March 17: FINAL STRETCH (Reading/Finals Week)

* Work out every one of these days

** Bonus Points if I can knock it up to an hour

* Only one candy snack and ALSO remove the temptation of staying home around food all day

* Start body weight exercises every other day

March 18 - March 28: SPRING BREAK

* Work out every day, 1 hour

* Body weight every other day

* Stay good on food and make allowances for dinners out

Thank you Suse! Unfortunately, I'm down to 7 days for arms now... yesterday wasn't awesome.

March 3:

*Did not work out!

- No excuses, but the only time I could have done it yesterday was 8am. And since I got my lazy self up at 9am... that was shot.* NO candy snacks today!

- Although this was because I had a huge dinner.

- STILL, I DID NOT have the Surprise!Brownies someone brought to work, and I DID NOT have a latte when my class got out early* No abs :(

* No arms :(

Wednesday is usually (when I'm not on a 28 Day Challenge) my no gym day, so although this report is sad-looking, I'm not overly disappointed. I think I did okay.

Seven days is still plenty of time to get some action done, don't go another day of "no arms!"

You're better than that, I know it :)

Unfortunately, they felt too good. I don't think I'm doing enough!

- Like Wednesday, the only time I could have done it was morning, and I was WAY too lazy for that.

I always underestimate how stressed I'll be in Reading Week... unfortunately, this is the product of that.

BUT, I am headed off to the gym right now, and tonight is formal night! Strapless dress!

Better luck on March 15, hopefully, a trip to the gym after my final.

PS - Formal went really well, (I think) I looked great, and the extra food (dinner out) and drink calories were worth it.

I'm actually very excited to run outside when I get back to school. I can't here (I'm unfamiliar with the area, it's a little unsafe, and my parents would have a panic attack) but I run outside at school sometimes and I'm excited to do it again once it warms up.

March 30:

- Did go to gym

I had a lot going against me:

I went with a friend, and though I usually run with her the same or better than when I run alone, this time we just walked until she left...

and we got on weird treadmills (this), because the normal ones were taken. These terrified me, I was so afraid that I'd go too far forward and then flip backwards...

and I felt so sick, which is why I didn't do abs or arms.

But I still did:

8 min at 3.5

2 min at 5.5-7.0

10 min at 7.0

5 min at 3.5

And I feel like I'm giving too much explanation here, but I did 10 min at 7.0 because even though I normally do about 3 miles in my treadmill routine, it's not just straight-up running at one speed for a specified distance. Normally I run for speed (I guess you'd say) instead of distance, so it was just nice to know that yes, I can run for a mile at 7.0, something I've never done, technically - because the last time I ran a mile mile, as in lap this track four times, was high school.- Did not do abs

- Did not do arms

I was pretty sure that if I had tried to crunch my abs, or do anything requiring clenching my body, I was going to puke.

- Did not eat only one candy :(

So we don't have our new challenge yet, but I'm going on the old goals. I am STILL TRYING to eat only one candy thing (the totally worth it Jello Oreo Pudding Pie I made Monday). I don't know why I eat candy at night, sometimes I don't even want it. I'm still trying for the gym most everyday, but I HAVE GOT to work in other stuff too, like the NYC Ballet DVD I have or Steve's Beginner Body Weight Workout. I just don't see any difference from the gym everyday. I can run faster - like when I get caught in the rain and run home - but that's not exactly what I'm going for. I need arms, and abs, and legs, and whatever. So I've got to start on that.
