The Sontag looks amazing!! I am so impressed!

I'm trying to not actually laugh out loud at work hearing about your drunken escapades....

It was hilarious. Laughed about it with the friends whose house it was - she knew I was fine because although I had my head on the table and couldn’t talk, I had two fingers up, and they were animated enough to take part in the conversation - like demented bunny ears :very_drunk:🐰

Haha, sounds hilarious when you write about it. Hopefully your buddies were in the right state of mind to enjoy it too :)

But I don't know about TTR though... I have only played the version I have myself, and it's a pretty tiny one with just the Nordic countries and I don't find it great. I'd love to play a bigger one though with more players and see how that is.

I generally love TTR and play it on my phone a bunch. I’m partial to the US maps, but India is good too - Europe is good, and the mechanics make it differently challenging. Actually, all the continents have different mechanisms and each game version is just different enough to be a separate and challenging game.

Detox yoga

Caught up with one of my Wednesday group ladies over lunch

Walked with another girlfriend an hour to a food truck rally for dinner burritos that were actually fabulous; picked up the rest of DH’s birthday present on the way.

Knitted some, listened to more Harry Potter

I haven't played it much, because this is usually the kind of game I was only playing with my board game group, and we were always more than the max 3 players the game is made for. But now that I read about it again I realized it might be perfect to play with my two boys, or at least the older of them! Will have to dust it off when we get back home again :) They're starting to outgrow Catan Junior and they're both doing great playing King of Tokyo.

Ooh - I have not yet played that one, but it would make a great addition!

Love Catan and keep meaning to buy King of Tokyo - other game night faves include Dominion, Smash Up, Unstable Unicorns and Scotland Yard.

I guess we’re big deck builder people?

Pandemic is also great, but better with less than 6 - and Forbidden Island is great for game light-ers. We have yet to break out our other fav - Last Night On Earth - with this group because: half an hour of rule book parsing.

also goodies to whip out: Rummikub and Rummy 500.

Ooh, and Guillotine.

Despite jettisoning half our stash with this last move, we still manage to have a bunch of games.

Thursday

Didnt do much more than knit and watch true crime all day.

Some Rando man came knocking on my door saying he was from the government and needed to come in to see how many people live in my apartment, so that was terrifying. Building management assured me he wasn’t an axe murderer, but hellz to the no I wasn’t letting some random man in my house without my husband being home. I don’t think he got many invites inside - wtf, people?

Was freaked out and it was cold (56F), so my girlfriend drove over and picked us up for our ‘we have random ingredients and need to use them up before we leave on vacation’ dinner unintentionally eggplant themed.

Came home and crashed out.

Meditation and breathing exercises as I was laying trying to fall asleep.

I have only played Catan a few times. But I think my boys are ready for it, so it will be a future Christmas or birthday addition to our games library :)

Catan Junior was the first proper game I got them, and it's been great as a gateway drug ;) https://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/125921/catan-junior

We've played lots of KoT. Got one of the expansions for my boys this Christmas, but I have only had time to play it once. Looking forward to playing it more when we get back home.

Haven't heard of the the other games you list there...

I've played Pandemic with our old group, and it's been great. Also played it with my mom and dad, which was also fun :) I gave Forbidden Island to my boys last Christmas, but I'm not a fan. I think they like it more than I do... It feels like I might as well be playing it on my own, because they don't make many, if any, decisions on their own. Since it's a co-op game they always want to run any decision by me. I think it might be more fun if I played it with friends of equal or better skill than me.

Large rule books don't deter me. I'd play Last Night On Earth with you :)

I found most of these games via Tabletop, a Geek & Sundry show put on by Wil Wheaton a few years ago:

I love board games! I have a bunch (including Catan), but Quelf is my favorite.

Ooh. Haven’t heard of Quelf, but it looks fun!

Scotland Yard is kind of like Where’s Waldo or Carmen Sandiego but mixed with Battleship - you’ve got to find the perpetrator by stabbing in the dark - but the perp moves and tries to outwit everyone else. It’s good fun

Friday

Did absolutely nothing but knit and eat leftovers. And snuggle pups.

Yoga was in the form of bedtime meditation/breath work again.

Watched true crime, historical sewing, and turn of the century house restoration on YouTube all day. Thought about milling the mall to get steps, but couldn’t find a compelling why.

I can finally talk about the much-teased surprise!

The first challenge on the NF Forums started March 1, 2010.

March 1, 2020 falls during the next cycle.

Of course there is a 10th Anniversary Spectacular planned, but it’s going to take all of us firing up our Hype Trains(TM).

Sooooo ... Whip out your necromancy spells, because we’re doing a general call to revive old Forum members. Now is the time to contact Rebels who used to be active but have fallen by the wayside and invite them back to the fold.

If you’ve got off-Forum contact info, great, but otherwise tag them in a post - depending on their notification settings, they just might get an email.

That's not the only news to share :devilish: but it’s the only one I’ve gotten the go on.

Saturday

Travel Day.

Breakfast was light, had half my plane snacks, was starving and had a hotel banana, and got poke bowls for dinner.

Yoga was done as soon as I hit the hotel room.

Not much else done but finishing book 6 of the Expanse series and going on a food of the belt research bender.

And started the latest season of Sabrina.

Sunday

Breakfast buffet, yoga done as soon as I woke up, Mall walking, Japanese tapas at our favorite joint here.

Quelf is a blast! I laughed so hard playing this.

I'm going to have to find Scotland Yard. 😊

I totally forgot about Tabletop!

And now i want one....

In a bulkier knit, that pattern would be super quick - as it was, it took me a week? Two? And that’s with only max 10 rows in me at a clip.

It took me all of Harry Potters 1 and 2 on audiobook if that’s any good time gauge :)

😝 Oh, I love a good game of Cards Against Humanity, too - when playing with the ‘we have no patience for rules and the attention span of newts’ crowd.

Monday

Hotel room yoga

Breakfast buffet

Sat in the lobby Starbucks typing super secret Nerd Fitness things, listening to Harry Potter, knitting and trying to see if an iPad would be an acceptable replacement for my really not very functional laptop or if I need a new laptop.

Unsuccessful shopping for a be-all end-all travel backpack/purse solution.

Finished Sabrina.

Shopped online for embroidery patterns and/or kits.
