Strickland5 Posted December 30, 2019 Report Share Posted December 30, 2019 Well damn I'm about to hit 40! How'd this happen?! Just yesterday I was turning 30 ! At the very least I'm in a better place than I was at 30. While I didn't manage to keep all the weight I lost off I've kept most of it off, last I check I'm 25 lbs lighter than back in 2010 - so that's a win in my book. Looking back I've done a few things since turning 30 - Gotten married Ran 3 marathons (among other things) Moved across the country Wrote some homebrew D&D modules Traveled more than I ever thought I would! Now we push forward into THE FUTURE! . Alright maybe not THAT future ... perhaps something nicer? DEFINITELY not that one... guess I'll have to do it myself! QUEST 1 - Food Logging I am going to get back to logging my food! This is to get base line on what I'm doing right / wrong - I'm not going to track QUEST 2 - Keep going to Orange Theory! The wife and I do best with group fitness and paying for classes - we will keep going to OTF as well as doing a weekend run. Yes I know this is more Ranger than Scout but sometimes you got to mix things up! QUEST 3- No device after 8 pm Put the phone away before bed in homes of getting better sleep. However I will be using my Kindle for ... QUEST 4 - Read more! I've not done much reading of late and honestly it makes me feel like I'm getting dumber. So for 2020 I want to read at least 1 non-fiction book a month. I put up blackout curtains for the first time last year, and they really helped me a lot. Have you picked a NF book to read yet? Didn't realize gin was so caloric ;) Went to the 5a15 OTF class this morning. It was a Strength day. On the dreadmill that means incline & floor work (weights / TRX / Rower) is high weight low rep counts. Won't lie doing base pace (5.3mph / ~11:19 min/mile ) at 7% incline was tough ! We did 1 minute 1%, 1 minute 7%, 1min 1%, 45sec 7%, 45 sec 6%, 1min 1% then 2 minutes of 30sec drops from 7% - so 30 at 7, 30 at 6, 30 at 5, 30 at 4.... before we moved to the floor for 6.5 minutes of various chest/arm/core work.
