squeakyvalkyrie
Hey! It has been a while since I've done a challenge. But I'm back! I'm starting back at the basics. Goal 1: Intermittent fasting I'm still doing good with not eating until after 11am, but I don't stop eating at 7pm like I used to. Goal 2: Workout once a week I want to start kettlebell training. I figure once a week is achievable. Goal 3: Do art every day I miss creating things. Kermit is on swing shift for the next two months, so I'll be alone in the evenings. I don't want to just get stuck in the couch. I have lots of sewing and knitting projects to do, I just need to do them. So there it is. Nothing too much, just getting back into the groove of focusing on something instead of just drifting through. 7 Quote halfling rogue ⋆ level 4 my challenges: 1 2 3 4 5 6 ⋆ my character ⋆ my quest when it rains, look for rainbows; when it is dark, look for stars Link to comment

squeakyvalkyrie
So I'm not on a great start to this challenge. I've been sick since it started and am just focused on surviving. I have no back up at work, so I'm stuck going in and muddling through. Still trying to keep to IF, but I know my body needs fuel to fight this mucus monster. I feel like I'm on the upswing, but that may be the cold meds talking. I did finish a shield that I have had kicking around the house for well over a year, so that is something! 3 Quote halfling rogue ⋆ level 4 my challenges: 1 2 3 4 5 6 ⋆ my character ⋆ my quest when it rains, look for rainbows; when it is dark, look for stars Link to comment
squeakyvalkyrie
Challenge still isn't going so great. I did too much on Friday and Saturday and was told by Kermit that I wasn't to leave the couch on Sunday. IF has been out the window, and the scale is reminding me why that isn't a good plan. After maintaining my weight for the past year, I've gained 10 lbs in the last few months. I'm back on IF and tracking my food starting today. I have still yet to go out and actually buy a kettlebell, so those workouts haven't begun either. I did build a shelving unit in our garage on Friday, so that was a workout. But not really what I was looking for. It is the only creative thing I've done all week, so my arting goal is off the rails too. Today I am feeling better, so once I am done with work it is clean the house, then sewing time! 1 Quote halfling rogue ⋆ level 4 my challenges: 1 2 3 4 5 6 ⋆ my character ⋆ my quest when it rains, look for rainbows; when it is dark, look for stars Link to comment
squeakyvalkyrie
Yesterday was better. I'm feeling better, so I had the energy to clean the house when I got home. And go grocery shopping! So now I can get my eating back on track. Stayed well within my IF window, tracking it makes it easier to stop eating in the evenings. No arting, or working out, but progress was made. Tonight I'm making lasagna cabbage rolls. (Kerm is doing keto for January, so I'm trying to be supportive.) Then I'll work on the underdress I've been trying to make since last summer. Something like this: If I can get it to fit right, it will be self supporting (no bra needed!) and will work better as a base layer for the rest of my garb. I'm focusing on upping my 14th century game this season. Tournaments start in March, so I've got some time. 1 Quote halfling rogue ⋆ level 4 my challenges: 1 2 3 4 5 6 ⋆ my character ⋆ my quest when it rains, look for rainbows; when it is dark, look for stars Link to comment
squeakyvalkyrie
I haven't given up posting, so that is something. Keeping up with my IF too. But I got stuck at work late and then just had no energy when I got home for arting or anything. Hoping to get the kettlebell this weekend. Looks like baby steps are still to big for me at this point. But I'll keep trucking along. Eventually things will fall into place. 2 Quote halfling rogue ⋆ level 4 my challenges: 1 2 3 4 5 6 ⋆ my character ⋆ my quest when it rains, look for rainbows; when it is dark, look for stars Link to comment
Defining
Going too fast is overrated - maybe try tortoise steps, rather than baby steps. I have confidence in your use of either though! 1 Quote ...but I'm adorable! Ask anyone who doesn't know me... Link to comment
squeakyvalkyrie
I made lasagna cabbage rolls for dinner last night and they didn't suck! Mostly just lasagna ingredients but wrapped in cabbage leaves instead of using noodles. If Kermit likes them I may try making more variations, tamale pie or enchiladas should work well. I didn't get any arting or working out done again last night. I did have a good conversation with my mentor about my burn out and ways we can make things fun again. This morning before work I cleaned up the dining room table and my sewing space, so I have less barriers between me and the sewing machine. I also finally finished the final season of Jessica Jones last night so that isn't trapping me on the couch. I'm going to do my taxes when I get home and then put Bob Ross on and get to sewing! 1 Quote halfling rogue ⋆ level 4 my challenges: 1 2 3 4 5 6 ⋆ my character ⋆ my quest when it rains, look for rainbows; when it is dark, look for stars Link to comment

squeakyvalkyrie
This weekend was much better. It was like a fog lifted and I could move again. I got the dress mostly sewn together, I just need to fit it a bit more and then hem it. I also made new suspenders for Kermit's leg armor. He bought new leg protection a while ago (October!) but we hadn't figured out how he was going to wear them. He tried them out at practice on Sunday and they are good! We also decided we need a new banner, so I am learning applique so I can make something that reflects our current heraldry. This is us with our current banner. I'm going to make a quarter circle banner with my symbol on one side and his on the other. I'm making it out of felt so the colors will really pop and not fade so much. The original was made with fabric markers and is really showing it's age. On our way home from practice on Sunday we stopped at Play it Again Sports and I finally bought a kettlebell! It is 10lbs, which is a little lighter than I was looking for, but since I got tired carrying it while we were standing in line, it should do just fine. Now to schedule a time do do my workout! It feels so good to finally have any energy and motivation to do anything. 3 Quote halfling rogue ⋆ level 4 my challenges: 1 2 3 4 5 6 ⋆ my character ⋆ my quest when it rains, look for rainbows; when it is dark, look for stars Link to comment
squeakyvalkyrie
This week was a mixed bag. On Thursday, my mom came down and we went shopping. Turns out, we are now the same size. I'm proud of here for losing weight, but I feel bad that I've gained this much. It was discouraging to have her constantly commenting about the size I wanted to get, claiming that it must be too big! It is nice to have some new clothes. I haven't bought any in a long time because I keep thinking I'm going to start losing weight, so why buy clothes at this size? In better news, I got my dress completed, it fits perfectly and I love it. So much so I got another one cut out already! I also started work on the banner, it is coming along nicely. Finally have enough energy to do crafting! Still haven't touched the kettlebell. Maybe this week. IF is still going, though I'm not as good with it on the weekends. Good thing I'm not striving for perfection. Sorry I'm getting less frequent with my updates, work is being super busy. 3 Quote halfling rogue ⋆ level 4 my challenges: 1 2 3 4 5 6 ⋆ my character ⋆ my quest when it rains, look for rainbows; when it is dark, look for stars Link to comment
