Potentially, but no (at least not in my case). It's really more around not traveling for work. I actually was talking to my husband about this this past week. When I don't regularly travel, I introvert HARD. Like, I just don't want to leave the house or interact with anyone. Usually, I chalk it up to being a well-deserved break, but now I've been primarily at home for about 4 months, so I am not sure if it's a continuation of that initial break or if it's really something else. Add to that the cold and dark we've had on the East Coast (which, to be fair, hasn't been as bad as other years) and I'm just bleh. It's most likely a roll up of a million different things that hit all at once.

I know what you're talking about. There are times when I've got demands on me that I can pull it together and be outgoing, but yes, to recharge I have to become a total cave troll...

Though, that guy definitely has more energy than I do.

Glad to see you back on the forums.

I know this feeling. And anytime something throws off my routine (no matter how inconvenient that routine may have been), I get all frazzled and just not myself.

I know you'll get back into the swing of things. You were my first NF friend, and I have message after message from you helping lift me out of a funk or letting me vent about what's bugging me. I appreciate our friendship, and I trust that you'll work through this, whatever it may be.

Let me know if I can help in any way.

I've been putting too much pressure on myself.

From a reasonable point of view, I've been very consistent at not back sliding. I'm within 5 lbs of where I was when I stopped focusing on a lot of things to benefit myself. I've not changed clothing sizes (I even bought a new outfit in the same size this past weekend, so I KNOW I haven't changed). For the most part, I'm sleeping better than I have been, and I've caught myself from slipping into a few bad habits that would impact all of the above.

But at the same time, I want everything to be perfect today. I've gotten really bad about S.M.A.R.T. goals because they are either too hard or too easy for me to complete and I get frustrated because I'm not seeing progress because my S.M.A.R.T. goals aren't where they should be. It's been hard for me to be involved in the forums recently because I feel like I should be a better representative to be a Guild Leader.

So there is a week and a half left in this challenge. Before the week and a half is up, I need to

  1. Use my planner daily (Sa / Su have one day between them, so this is only out of 6 days per week).
  2. Set foot in the gym once (I know this helps my mood, so there really isn't any reason I shouldn't do this much).
  3. Go back to Steve's "how to set up a challenge" walk through and get ready for next challenge.
  4. Post at least once more in this thread to make sure I do it.

I feel you. I'm the biggest I've ever been and I'm running the forums.

That’s understandable even as a person who’s not a Guild Leader. We all struggle sometimes, and your transparency has always been part of what makes you a great Guild Leader, IMO.

We’re always glad to have you here, and I greatly appreciate all of your support over the years. I’m more than happy to provide any I can back to you.

Y'all are two people who continue to inspire me to keep going. And it's because you're not perfect, you struggle, and you fail and try again. Being healthy is hard. And it's individual because our bodies, our experiences, and views are different.  But you try again, and that's the kind of leadership I appreciate. The "Damn, that hurt! I need a minute and then let's try again"

Because some one like me who fails a LOT and is still working through a lot of stuff looks at you and says "It's genuinely not easy" and I feel like I'm not a failure. That I'm just taking a really difficult journey against the constant societal messages that I should be able to work myself to death in my chair, eat all the junkfood in the world, and STILL have a sixpack and be mentally on top of my game. It's so unrealistic and this is why we rebel. And the fact you put yourself in this position to cheer us on and like our comments while we know "It's hard for them too."  It means a lot. You are generous with your time and friendship, and that's the kind of leadership that inspires the team.

You are appreciated. Both of you.

I'm with everybody else. You are inspiring, precisely because you struggle, admit to struggling, and yet keep on struggling. Thank you for being there -- and being you.

How is everyone doing this week?

My job has instituted work from home for all employees that aren't required on site by the hospitals we work with. Any non-essential travel is currently on hold (which also makes sense as a lot of hospitals don't want extra people at the moment anyway). They used last Friday as a trial run with a few areas to try to work out any issues that might arise.

My kids are also off school for the next 1 - 2 weeks (depending on the school. My daughter's cyber school is only off for one week, but the local brick and mortar is off two). This isn't horrible, other than the fact that local stores were out of Ramen noodles when we went grocery shopping. Not a big deal for me, but the kids who enjoy Ramen on a regular basis aren't super happy about this. Apparently, we need to make sure to stock up more consistently....

Grocery shopping this weekend wasn't horrible. Apparently everyone where I live decided to go out Friday (I had to stop to get milk for the baby and it was crazy). By Saturday / Sunday, most people were already at home. My husband and I had discussed how crazy we were anticipating it to be, so we were definitely pleasantly surprised about how easy it was to get through all of our errands. My daughter has instituted a policy that after we leave the house, we have to change our clothes and wash our hands, just in case. We've had zero confirmed cases in our county, although the county to the north has had a few. I'm happy to comply, as I have no issues being in jammies. :D I was also able to get to the library before they closed for two weeks also, which is super important. #priorities.

I've decided to modify my goals for the last week of the challenge. I'm not going to go to the gym, I am going to work out at home instead. We recently had to clean out part of our basement for a new hot water heater, so I have plenty of space to do this. Tonight, the kids and I are cleaning our living room in depth (including moving all the couch pieces and wiping down the baseboards). We are hoping to use some of the time constructively.

So when we went grocery shopping this weekend, I'd debated over just shopping for two weeks. Ultimately, I decided against it as I didn't want to rely on so much frozen / boxed stuff for the second week. Well, talked to my daughter this morning and there were rumors about larger shut downs, so I ran out to get groceries for next week today. I believe my town is officially out of toilet paper.

Got home to news that PA was instituting larger scale measures to limit spread. Glad I did the shopping. The only thing we are potentially short on is milk for the baby, but I did grab a can of toddler formula, so at the very worst, he's got a back up of something.

Wish me luck over the next two weeks as I deal with four teenagers, two of which are currently hormonal.
