So much bujo talk!   Yeah, I went with a pre printed one for a while myself, and I keep going back to Ghost-Grid.  Because the paper is so so so very white and bright and I love it.   One of my purchases came with some stencils for bujo's and that's been fun to just add in a bit here or there.   When I have the time, making a themed one helps me want to open it more, but in lieu of that, just having a place to quickly jot down a thing I think of that I Need or Want to do, is super helpful.       Humans... why must obsession complicate every thing?  Even the things meant to help us stop obsessing!  HAHAHA

Hehe, I love watching bujo videos on youtube, but the "plan with me" title is very full of irony. There isn't any planning happening, it's just an art project. Still very fun to watch. But my own bujo is just.. no art, no stickers, perhaps a doodle or a nicely written title.. no monthly layout with boxes either.

You make it sound like there's a bujo subculture where the humans serve the bujos instead of the other way round?. I'm not that familiar with them but spending a year preparing the next year's bujo sounds... it sounds like you'd have to really, really love planning.

They totally do, but what's funny is "Bujo" has deviated SO far from the simplicity and effectiveness of the original Bullet Journal Method that, honestly, it's barely even related anymore. Like Red said, it becomes way too overwhelming and stressful.  Yea, some of them really do love planning--but like @KB Girl said, it's really just a big art project at that point. I agree, which is why I bought a printed planner with some blank pages I can art with the past couple years :D

HAHA yeah, there's a whole community and it's totally a monster arts and crafts effort. People really do love the process of creating these big grand things, (and I like looking at them!) but I have other crafts I prefer to do in my spare time. The journalling method itself really is very straight forward as people mentioned and can be as simple or as complicated as someone wants. I've gone in at different levels over the years, but right now this works for me

Okay, all caught up! Impostor syndrome sucks. As for the editor, it could be that you guys just aren't clicking and it's time to find a different one. I've heard of that happening in the industry.

Yeah, my last communication from her was a little better, and I was able to ask straight out what the hell she meant by this ot that cryptic comment that didn't make sense to me. We're stepping away from editing and working more on marketing strategy which I think will help my process, but I still don't plan on working with her going forward.

_____

Zero week was fun, I did no screens several times, and then went to the store to buy more screens. (we need new phones! It was bound to happen.)

This week started a little strange, national holiday in the states and Mr Red stayed home yesterday but I worked an extra long day. (People like to train on their days off LOL) but that also means today and the rest of the week will be a little easier.

I did drink some riesling last night that was left over from Mr Red's risotto meal prep, and it gave me a headache and I didn't enjoy it. It will be easy to get in 2 days no drinking today and tomorrow, but we'll see, I wouldn't be surprised if I took it easy after that as well, that's hapenning more and more often. Mindful eating surrounding the onslaught of sharks, so there has been some emotional buffering and soothing surrounding food.

I missed a run last week, but wrist work is going well and body weight work is hapenning.

This coming weekend we're going to be hosting a kind of experimental party - we have this idea that instead of doing a game night with a few friends, we're going to host a big game board party and set up 5 different areas for playing games, all organized by amount of players, how long the game play takes etc. I have NO IDEA if it's going to be fun or just devolve into chaos but I'm excited to try! It's on Saturday, Feb 22, 2020... 02.22.20 - it's a palindrome!! Maybe there's a palindrome game we can throw in. Or try to do it with scrabble? We'll see!

I'm still in contemplation phase for meditating in the morning, but I did manage a short yoga flow today (it wasn't super flowey because of the wrist, but I did it LOL) so that's a step towards my former morning routine that I loved so much. Perhaps I'll get enough foundation down for it to add it into the next challenge.

Ooooo, journal talks! I've kind of fallen off Bujoing and am in a Hobonichi Cousin now. I kind of love it because I'm using extra daily pages for art type things  (mostly drawing and watercolor).

Just wrote up my list for the stew! Mr Red will be responsible for the other meal for this week and I'll check in with the other recipes going forward - I'm always down for some different cuisines! What do you recommend in the Korean kitchen?

If you're ready to invest in a few staples it makes soups and stews really easy! I like doenjang jiggae, bibimbap, and kimchii jiggae. I also like keeping a lot of side dishes on hand to throw on top of rice for an easy meal! I make them pretty regularly. Every once in a while I'll try a recipe from these websites: MaangchiKorean BapsangMy Korean Kitchen

It's definitely this. The bujo overlords are finicky and demanding. Even if you love planning, the bujos require complete misery for any line out of place.

OMG yes please!!! Above all else, I just love seeing people's handwriting. I'm kind of obsessed with shopping lists I find in empty grocery carts LOL

What are you working on these days? I'm mostly in the needlecrafts - nerdy needlepoint and knitting Mr Red a new Packers hat lol

Oooh love the idea of that experimental party!!! It sounds perfect, because I have more friends I'd like to invite to a game night than could possibly fit at a single game night, and that sounds like the perfect compromise - hope it works out well, with an acceptable (dare I say fun) level of chaos!

So goes the theory! I will report back. Currently we have 6 different stations planned lol

Also, omg, I love handwriting too.  I have a guy friend who writes in like FONT mode.  It's amazing.      I am still trying to art.  I love it, but I wish I were getting better at it.   If nothing else, it's something that allows me to practice the 'do things you are not good at and don't quit just because you aren't good right away' schtick.   I also kind want to try my hand at making a video game music video.   I am playing Greedfall and capturing all sorts of footage from it... now I need to storyboard it and find the right song.

Knitting!    I soooo admire knitters.  It's a crazy skill to have!   You create out of nothing!

The journal community is intense! Where do folks get all this spare time?  I love putting more creativity in my journaling but like you I try to keep it simple. That way I keep journaling, if I feel creative then I go with it.

IKR? The most time I ever put into it was when I was a full time student - I used journal creation time during study breaks when my brain needed a reset. As soon as I was back in the work force that practice disappeared LOL

OKAY sidenote time. I have an event coming up where I get to dress up fancy and the theme is "space" -so I decided it's time I finally figure out how to do awesome makeup so I can do an amazing cosmos nebula lewk. I also happened to have the required 6 empty containers from mac cosmetics that rewards me a free lipstick............. soooooooo I found myself going through my stuff this morning to figure out which shade of lipstick I could actually use, (since I had to go to the mall anyway to get a card table for the party) and well I got to watching some makeup tutorial videos (that weren't actually satirical), and well............... long story short glitter is my life now. I definitely see myself trying some off the wall stuff in the next week, maybe I'll post some pictures ^_^

Also I ran today but because I primed my eyes before putting down the shadow, the silver liner did NOT melt off at all! AHmazing.

ALL THE GLITTER! I guess this as good a time as any... about a month ago, right around imposter syndrome flaring up, I set my FB profile picture to this really moody illustration I made a long time ago, and it kind of bums me out when I see it. So this morning I really wanted to try my new glitter palette and did as much as I thought I could handle for a full workday in the gym lol. Anyhoo, I was feeling it so I took a new profile pic and it's giving me smiles. Here's my soft glittery look with sun and plants and a much better mood :D

Aw thanks so much guys! It's funny how anxious I get about having my photo taken, and the experience is so different from what people seem to see. I'm glad I decided that today was the day, that drawing I had up was kind of a daily reminder of of being miserable.
