Tell me more about this RuPaul look??? _____ Yesterday I got bored halfway through my run and did sprint cycles for the last 15 minutes. It was fun but over night my hip started acting up. (I've had a problem side for a while - ever since I took an injury during a deadlift.) So today I'll spend some time doing my hip work, and really, should be doing it on the regular to keep this spot from acting up! DAMN YOU SCAR TISSUE!! Tonight is game party and I'll be keeping myself occupied through the day with cleaning and video games so I don't freak out too much, which is silly, because it's just my friends coming over. Why is that so daunting?? I have my core group over all the time, it doesn't make a ton of sense that I get antsy, but here we are. I am feeling better than I was yesterday or the day before. Otherwise things seem to be... good? I found something useful with the editor to go through, studying is giving me confidence, editor stuff is giving me direction, there's suddenly a lot of movement with the Kung Fu school (we're doing a free women's self defense workshop for the community in a few weeks and it kind of exploding this past week) and we've had to secure a bigger location last minute. Only wrench in the week is a follow up on my physical that my cholesterol is a bit elevated. I didn't ask for the numbers at the moment but considering that I was warned I presume its LDL and I need to be more aware of some of the contributing things I tend to indulge in a fair bit - like cheese. For those of us interested in Intuitive Eating, this would fall under the gentle nutrition late stage, and I'll be approaching it as preventative measures in alignment with my goals for maintaining good health for the sake of longevity and avoiding complications as I get older. My face started out with thick black eyebrows, that I spent most of the 90's trying to pluck into the thin rounded shape that was so popular back then. All I succeeded in doing was destroy a lot of the follicles in that area, in an uneven pattern. So not they are thick and bushy in some places and thin in others, and their shape is finally reasonably similar between the two. So I have eyebrow envy because yours look to even in shape and thickness, and the only way for me to have that is to spend a few minutes on them with a pencil in the morning. I've been trying hard to imagine how others see my face and try to see it that way in the mornings when I do my skincare and makeup, especially in the mornings of my days off, when I have time to really play with all the fun things in the makeup drawer. And I am noticing that when I look at my face from the distance most people would when I interact with them, a lot of those tiny flaws that drive me crazy are not visible, and that is pretty cool. I was tempted to say that this is a new for me, but it's not exactly. All those years of counting and weighing left me with the ability to eyeball 4oz of this, 1/2 C of that, and I still use those general guidelines for meal prep because I know that I feel better and am more satisfied when I'm getting well rounded, well balanced meals - getting a full range of nutrients has proved to leave me less likely to binge on nonsense at other times. I believe that there can be a time and place when tracking can be an empowered choice, (this is very nuanced per person) but am also grateful that that period, and transition is behind me! I think it's useful to mention here though, especially for folks who are embarking on their IE process, to know that there are many stages and that gentle nutrition can be part of it in time 2 Quote ~Peace Be The Journey~ one - two - three - four - five - six - seven- eight - nine - ten - eleven - twelve - thirteen - fourteen - fifteen - sixteen - seventeen - eighteen - nineteen - twenty - twenty one - twenty two - twenty three - twenty four - twenty five - twenty six - twenty seven - twenty eight - twenty nine - thirty - thirty one - thirty two - thirty three - thirty four - thirty five - thirty six Link to comment
RedStone
I went roller skating with a friend and her kids yesterday even though I was exhausted from staying up late for the game party. I had it in my head that I would watch Hot Tub Time Machine in the bath, but I was so tired I was afraid I'd fall asleep in the tub and ended up snoozing on the couch a bit instead. So I ended up starting Locke & Key and loved it! Was bummed at bedtime that I had to stop. Looking forward to a few episodes tonight! The game party was fun but chaotic. I had it in my mind that it should be a day to night event because serious games ---> adult party nonsense, but it didn't really translate this time. I think we should try it again and be a bit more organized about a schedule since that will help my fellow nerds know whats up while giving time to the rest. Here's what i'm thinking, but help me workshop! 1p-4p serious game play (strategy group games that take time) 4p - family games, lawn games, BBQ time 8p - Adults only, rock band and booze _____ Leaving this here for accountability, I plan on starting 3X runs a week this week. Actually now that I think about it it may be tricky because I'm heading down to Philly for a family event on Friday and will be there until Sunday evening. I believe I will have access to a treadmill so I think I can still do it - either way I'll plan on getting my 2X in early this week to accommodate. Wrist continues to feel better, the rehab is working. This week's sessions will be wrist and hip centric and I'll be running, and training Kung Fu otherwise. I have admin and marketing stuff that is easy to brush off but that must be done, I have plenty of time for that today, tomorrow and Wednesday. Putting it in the book. _____ Finally, I dropped my quads off for an adjustment and well, I'm officially in the market for new skates - heavily considering quads over inline, though I have experience and joy in both. My current quads are not safe for use and they don't make the parts for this very old model anymore, which is kind of ok, they're very cool and will look good on a decorative shelf. I do not currently have inlines though I have less interest there atm. Any skaters here to weigh in on options? Experiences? Brands? Love you Monday nerds ❤️ 6 Quote ~Peace Be The Journey~ one - two - three - four - five - six - seven- eight - nine - ten - eleven - twelve - thirteen - fourteen - fifteen - sixteen - seventeen - eighteen - nineteen - twenty - twenty one - twenty two - twenty three - twenty four - twenty five - twenty six - twenty seven - twenty eight - twenty nine - thirty - thirty one - thirty two - thirty three - thirty four - thirty five - thirty six Link to comment

And this has been in my head while reading the rest of your posts. The best choice between quads and inlines is... I mean you knew that was coming, right? HAHAHA OMG I love you. So actually, all of this started when I went ice skating with my niece over Thanksgiving - I wanted to start going and when I asked my friends they were all enthused about roller skating so we started doing that. What really sealed the deal is that the closest place (which is already 40 mins away) is an absolutely time capsule that hasn't been updated since 1982 - except for a big painting of The Dude hanging over the air hockey table. It's an absolute trip to go up there and they have adult only roller dance nights on Weds which is amazing. _____ I am hella sore today. Yesterday was running, which I kinda stepped up a little, I did my hand stuff and hip stuff, but later I was feeling stable and ended up doing some DB stuff... for the first time since November NBD. Left arm was weak as expected but everything felt stable enough, and now I'm sore... Hella sore lol. Going to try to paint Mr Red's nebula tie this morning and if it doesn't work out he has time to order something for the weekend. I'm not super committed to this cause so no big deal either way, I thought it would be fun like a month ago, but he really procrastinates when it comes to this stuff and it didn't happen. I could have taken the reigns a little more but mental load has been heavy recently and this is not a priority, just for fun. What else. Um... Editor is coming to a close. We had some good back and forth and right when I think we're getting somewhere, she asks if I have resolution from an exercise that we haven't gone over together yet, so I think I get it now. She's really not approaching it from a coaching aspect so much as a teaching aspect. All good. We're reaching an end and I know better what to look for in people in the future. Tanktimus the Encourager
Just this morning while getting on the elevator I saw a woman in there who was wearing quad rollerskates. This was a mature woman who looked like she'd been skating forever and knew things other people never dreamed. She did get off on my floor and as I was walking ahead of her I heard her comment (everyone looks at me like I'm crazy). I suspect this was because she wore them indoors to get a blood draw, but what do I know? 2 5 Quote Current Challenge "By the Most-Righteous-and-Blessed Beard of Sir Tanktimus the Encourager!" - Jarl Rurik Harrgath Link to comment

Nice! Yeah, things seem pretty good, it's easy to get over whelmed but all in all it's good stuff. I tested out of the biggest module for my functional fitness certification yesterday and took a top percentile! I was never a good test taker growing up so this always shocks me. Of course my first instinct was to start the next one, at 7p, since I had "momentum", but I quickly squashed that down and watched CoCo and Brave instead. (Anyone else loving Disney+???) Lifting is slight and I'm able to handle (some) weights again, but my hip is kind of acting up again - I know I've mentioned it before but it's been worse this week. I want to blame running but whenever I run it seems to loosen up some. It's much more likely from the way I sit and sleep. More work there. So far I've done my things for the challenge, run and "lift"/workout both Monday and Wednesday, 2 days off drinking (I had some bourbon last night but even still i made the bare minimum), study and do work for editor. I did get to go to the Culinary Institute of America for lunch yesterday and hell yeah I was mindful of what I was eating LOL although it was kind of a bittersweet situation - I had plans to catch up with an old friend I haven't seen in awhile- he lives near there and they do this prefix lunch special in the winter that I'll take advantage of every once in awhile: app, meal and desert for US$19! but at the last minute he got some awful news with a death in the family. I was ready to reschedule and cancel the reservation but a friend was able to join last minute. I had a pear salad, duck entree and a s'more with banana foam: 5 Quote ~Peace Be The Journey~ one - two - three - four - five - six - seven- eight - nine - ten - eleven - twelve - thirteen - fourteen - fifteen - sixteen - seventeen - eighteen - nineteen - twenty - twenty one - twenty two - twenty three - twenty four - twenty five - twenty six - twenty seven - twenty eight - twenty nine - thirty - thirty one - thirty two - thirty three - thirty four - thirty five - thirty six Link to comment

I want to blame running but whenever I run it seems to loosen up some. It's much more likely from the way I sit and sleep. More work there. Ouch! Time to invest in a new mattress, maybe? And while that dessert indeed looks awesome, it's the duck entree that is really making me drool. Jealous! 2 Quote The Great Reading Thread of 2023 “I've always believed that failure is non-existent. What is failure? You go to the end of the season, then you lose the Super Bowl. Is that failing? To most people, maybe. Tanktimus the Encourager
I saw that dessert on FB and could not figure out what it was. (Anyone else loving Disney+???) Nice job on the test and crushing your goals! And I love Disney+. Also that food looks delicious. 2 Quote New Battle Log, Old Battle Log, Current Challenge 2022 Challenges: Challenge 1, Challenge 2, Challenge 3, Challenge 4 2021 Challenges: Challenge 1, Challenge 2, Challenge 3, Challenge 4, Challenge 5, Challenge 6 2020 Challenges: Challenge 1, Challenge 2, Challenge 3, Challenge 4, Challenge 5, Challenge 6, Challenge 7 Link to comment
