TheGreyJedi-Ranger Posted February 10, 2020 Report Share Posted February 10, 2020 It was the dead of winter of 2014 and a much younger Jedi is looking for a Star Wars themed workout after finding Star Wars yoga on Pinterest. After some time, I found myself on the forums for my FIRST CHALLENGE. 6 Years later, here I am. Not where I want to be, but thousands of miles from where I was. This challenge comes at a very difficult time in my life. Many trials and tribulations are coming the way of your favorite Jedi, and I dunno when things are going to get easier. But I want to do what I can to focus on my health and taking care of myself, even given that I'm winging it from a financial perspective. So I'm going to dial in on some goals to help improve my health until I have more money to spend on healthier food. So, without further ado, here are my 10th anniversary goals! Drink ALL The Water! My goofy butt got out of the habit of drinking water. So I drink it, but nowhere nearly as much as I should. My water tracker said my goal should be 122oz. That's a bit out of reach for the moment, so my goal is to get at least half that every day. I'll get 1 point for each day I drink half, but an extra point if I meet the goal. Work It 3 workouts a week. A workout is classed as a walk down to the creek and back, a hike of some variety, or 15ish minutes of dance workouts via YouTube (on rainy or especially cold days). If I do something else that can be legitimately classed as a work out, I'll count it and log it here. Streeeeeeeetch So I've started having a lot of back issues.... I'm barely 25 (*cries). I think it's related to how much extra fat I'm carrying on my body. The best way to help alleviate that short term while I try to help with the weight part is to stretch regularly. For this challenge, I want to stretch 2 days a week IN ADDITION TO the workout days. So 5 days total. Even if I don't get my third workout I want that stretching adventure to happen. Breakfast of Champions Hello my name is Jedi and I don't eat breakfast. I know that if I don't eat breakfast, I'm hungry for the entire rest of the day. And yet I still neglect the most important meal of the day. So I'm going to make a goal to eat breakfast 5 days a week at least. Bonus points if I eat it more times than that. So that's my 10th anniversary challenge! I'm really out of shape but it really makes me excited to get better and get back in shape. I also drank lots of water yesterday. My cousins are all awesome humans and I love spending time with them. ~~~ Happy Monday my cold is in full swing >_> Not a happy camper, but I'll make do. Today will be as much of a relaxing day as I can make it. Though I might work out a little bit? Maybe? I haven't decided. I'm super congested and stuff so I'm not sure if I should or not. That depends. This will be another tight week that's finished off with a fun adventure. I'm trying to channel cozy instead of gloomy because it makes me less gloomy myself ❤️ ~~~ Y'all, I actually worked out yesterday. It's a christmas miracle. I def wasn't feeling it, but it didn't wreck me to do some dancing class things on YouTube so I did 3! Great start to the week. Still feeling like hot garbage but trying to ensure that I get sleep, Dayquil, and Vitamin C in as much volume as possible so that I can feel better fast. Especially with some honey. I have vitamin C capsules now (thanks mom) but those gummies look delish. I'm a fan of peppermint tea with honey, or vanilla chai sometimes too Thanks! Realistically this cold is fairly mild, but it's been a while since I've really gotten sick because I have stayed in my house so much over the past 2 years. And it's definitely not a fun experience. I'm able to function moderately well after one dose of dayquil during the day. A run with nyquil helps me sleep enough to do okay. It's that first morning hump that's the worst when my whole being is stopped up because I've been laying down all night. After that it's just a little bit of extra cough/congestion/sneezing and a general feeling of being run down and tired. TheGreyJedi-Ranger Posted February 19, 2020 Author Report Share Posted February 19, 2020 So I slept for SOOOOO long >_> I feel kinda dumb but also I really needed the sleep so I can't be mad. I feel better enough today that I put my contacts in for the first time since Saturday. I'm planning on working out later on today as well. I also decided that I need to add another goal to my list for this challenge- I need to undo the habit of eating and reading together. I do it waaaaay too much and it makes me eat too much. Food I don't need and that adds extra to my body. So every time I do that moving forward, I lose a point. If I do everything perfectly, I get 100 points. I have the option of adding more with drinking more water, and if I do an extra workout it's an extra point as well. If I get 100 points, I get $50 to spend at Ulta. Every additional point beyond that is an extra dollar or so. If I don't get the 100 points, I don't get the money to spend. No partial anything, just diving in head first. That's a good enough reward that I'm going to work extra hard for it. I've finally got myself a good cozy place to read - the loveseat next to the window.
