Today's Wrap Up -

 

Um BeatSaber Addiction is adding a lot more exercise to my regime...

I got Str #1 in today at lunch.   But also played 25 minutes of beat saber before dinner, and then another 20 minutes after dinner. 

Did an art lesson - though it was just cylinder practice... sooo boooring.

Ate well.  Tracked.  In fact, due to above BSA, I burned 2300 cals today, but only ate 1500.   I'm just not that hungry today.  

Cranking into bed about 30 minutes before usual sleeps, so that's good.

Today was pretty okay!

 

Work was very busy, but the standard run of the mill stuff kind of busy.  I like those days.  Ya feel productive and like a good little worker bee.  Bzz bzz!

 - I sketched at lunch and hated every single thing my pencil touched.   >.<   Old tutorials I had memorized from being well practiced are long gone and nothing looks right.    But, at least I did it?  Bleh.

 - Tracked my food and was horribly under calories again.   I am just not hungry enough after the food I eat.   I am not too worried as tomorrow is 'can't really track church food' supper, and Thursday I am partaking of an indulgence.  I will take food pr0n pictures for you all.

 - I got exercise in.   Uhm, like 90 minutes of low intensity work... playing Beat Saber.  

 

Cute story, my sis (17 years older than me) was convinced to try.   She "turns" to look at me after getting the hang of it on her first song and says, "I see why you got addicted!!  Can I do another?"    She did!   And said, "I will play this again!"  LOL - I totes took a little 35" clip of her playing because I was so proud of her!! (Guys, she's 60 ok?   And she gave VR a try!  And loved it!)

 

Also, all my routine lab checks came back saying I am healthy still in regard to diabetes, cholesterol, blood pressure etc!   My family has lots of those, so I am fighting the genetics, yeah!

 

Bed before 11pm again.  Go me.   I just need to get some better art in tomorrow after church.   Maybe no Beat Saber tomorrow....

Sounds like things are going pretty well so far! I've never tried the beat saber game, but I've played a few other VR games and it's definitely addictive. It's been a while since I've played one, I don't have an at-home set-up so I have to go to a VR place to do it, and every time I do I try to figure out how to make it work at home on a budget, but sadly, no luck yet...

Great job keeping up with the workout! I wonder, if you add wrist weights to the arms, that would really make Beat Saber more difficult!

::Wednesday Update::

 

Spent most of the day debating and warring with myself if I wanted to take a personal day tomorrow just to catch a breather.   It's been hectic at work.   I've had personal stressors that, while they've improved vastly, still wore me out over the past month.   This week is chock full of scheduled appointments and commitments - some of the anxiety producing kind.    As of ten minutes ago, I've emailed my trio of informants to tell them I am taking a personal day tomorrow.    If I wake up early and feel bad about that, I will just go in anyway.  LOL.

 

I got my lift in today and increased my pull ups by 2 overall again.  I was able to do 5 sets, with two of those sets being 6 and the others 5.   On a day I was super tired, I was surprised to see those numbers.     After work, and before church class, I loaded up 40 minutes of Beat Saber, so kind of got a double work out in again.    Which is good!  Because it was Chicago Italian Beef sandwiches and cupcakes at the church class, of which I had two cupcakes.  (They were medium sized.)    According to tracking, and with the cupcakes estimated at 200 calories each, I am within goal still.

 

Tomorrow though, there will be that sweet sweet indulgence!    Planning ahead for that; I am eating light at home for breakfast, and eating some healthy left overs for lunch before I take off to Beat Saber with my Saber Master alllll afternoon.  Yeaah!

 

I plan to do some art in the morning, and start the project of tidying up my room so that on Saturday after my chiro I can nail it hard.    I should also make that return to Amazon for the wrong cord I bought.   I've not got the proper adapter so I can free up my USB-c to HDMI off my PC and put it back in my purse like a proper lady geek.   I also preemptively got a 10 foot USB extender so that I can loop my web cam behind me for future Beat Saber videos mwuahahah!  

 

That's all for tonight.   Despite having tomorrow off, I am going to bed at normal time because I am mega sleepy today.

Work has been so busy ya'll.   Ugh.   A friend recommend I do something crazy, and I think I am going to do it.  Starting tomorrow --- I am taking a week off of my hobbies!   No commitments, no 'this thing on that day, this thing on this day'.   I can very well still choose to do them, but I am going into the week with a clean slate.  No plans.  No agendas.   Just days that I know certain things happen and I can do them if I want to!

 

I am so stressed about this downtown outing for the Comedy Show on Sunday that I think I've decided I need to tell my friend tomorrow, that she can take the extra pre-paid ticket and use it for whomever, but I am going to bow out.   (I honestly feel like she hard pressed me into doing it in the first place.   I should have kept my no a no and not been persuaded.)    So tomorrow, outside of the chiro appt in the morning (needed and want to go) I am going to be free and clear until Saturday next week lunch.

My therapist tonight asked me if I had a hard time saying no... lol.  Hmmmm.      I think I will get to be better at saying yes, once I say no a little while to really get my jet packs recharged, tuned up and fueled for the future.

I feel guilty when I claim my own free time just for me... that's so weird.   Also, that oyster is adorable.

 

 

Soo, I had my therapist appointment tonight and feel like my counselor is easy to talk to and should be fine.  In all honesty, I don't feel like I'm that tricky of a case- I just need someone who is trained to unpack it all and then give me the fundamentals in how to cope in a healthy way.   She's Christian, and she was comfortable enough to lead with spiritual questions - and from what I can tell, she comes from a very similar point in beliefs as I do which is reassuring for me.  She's young.  SUPER young - but kind spirited.   She's still in the phase of her Masters that requires supervision, but I am super okay with that.    I just feel like this is going to be fine.   Now, hopefully, the insurance biz reimburses me fast enough that this doesn't get held up on account of finances.  ($80 copay every week is ya know, $320 a month!   If the flexpay doesn't kick that back in within the same month, I am not going to be able to attend session in that rapid of a manner.)  Bonus points, when she asked what I do for hobbies and said play roleplaying games, she excitedly said, "I really want to try Dungeons and Dragons!"  So yeah.   I'm kind of cool with her already. ;)

 

In other news, while upholding my commitment to the once a month D&D game on Discord, I finished up the art bit I was doing in a super chill way.   I think I like how it turned out.  The super simple "legend" prompt from this years Inktober?  I inked it in simple flats - no shading.        And oh!  Win.   The group on Discord just tried to push into an every other week game and I said No guys!  I just straight up said, "I really can't commit to this as more than a once a month game right now."      Wow, one session and go me!

I am having a heck of a time getting all the software and extensions to work so I can capture me playing it, but I am not giving up on it.  Just taking longer than I'd have liked.     

 

In other news; I contacted friend about the comedy show downtown tomorrow and said that I should have stuck more firmly to my original no.   That I am sorry to back out now, but I really needed to NOT go.  I then gave her my ticket so she could take someone free of charge to replace my not going.    Freeing this up took a metric tonne of stress off my shoulders and I spent the day  just letting the hours claim me as they wanted.

 

  • I cleaned two of my big old cabinets and got rid of a giant bag of garbage.  Things untouched for years, etc.  Even some memory stuff that I realized I don't need to hang onto- like the "book" I wrote when I was 8.   Cute, but I've reminisced that book 3x now.   It's okay to let it go.
  • I played some Beat Saber, then worked on figuring out the cameras.  
  • Then I took myself to my taco place, and instead of getting it to go, sat and ate there by myself.  Yeah!
  • Got a stash of batteries for my controllers and came home to download a few more songs.
  • Then my friend came over and we took turns playing for another 2.5 hours.  >.>   Yes, I have a problem.
  • No I don't need an intervention, my arms are gonna fall off so I am done for a while.

 

Now I'm pooped.  Which is good because it's DST and so it's actually 11 now...  Hah.

WEEK 3 TALLY

 

Fitness Goals

  1. Strength Train:  3/3
  2. Move / Sweat / Stuff: 3/3
  3. Eating Healthy   - Track on MFP;  6.5/7   [Didn't calculate tonight's dinner cals, and then had a mega Donut to boot.]

 

 

Life Goal

  • Keep track of all expenses in "Spending Tracker"; stay within Budget.  :: This is still not happening at all, lol.   
  •  Do 1 Art Lesson a Week!!   Keep up with practice 2-3x beyond that.  :: 1 Lesson tackled, and 5 sketch/tablet nights.
  • Dabble with youtube videos/gaming and/or streaming games.  Maybe.  :: I've been putting in time trying to figure out how to use the VR capture software, but it's not coming easily.   I need more time on this - but I did maybe, totally, buy a green screen that will deliver tomorrow... so once the capture is figured out.  Um, I am good to go on sharing some Beat Saber, and maybe some other games too!

5 WEEKS / 5 GOALS

  1. Make plans to hit Pollyanna Brewing with table-mate from Church Group - ☑️ We have set the date for March 14th, so long as the two new friends don't back out. :D
  2. Find and schedule some therapy.   ☑️  Scheduled for March 6th, and, probably covered by insurance!
  3. Try a new activity.  -Dangit, week three came and went and I didn't do this!   But that said, I think I needed a decompress week, so I am going to say ... my new activity I tried was, "Saying No to People!"   LOL  // Oh!  I can also count that I ate at a restaurant by myself.  It was only the local ma and pa place, but I got served by a waitress, ate in solitude, paid up, tipped and off I went.   So baby steps!

Well, this challenge is going along swimmingly - at least according to the data.   I don't feel like I am super losing weight though --- and I suppose I am getting stronger again, but the pants and clothes aren't feeling looser either.    I've additionally decided to try and give up cookies and candies except for very small portions on very occasional moments and change up some of my dietary routines.      

 

I'd like to see if I can get my cholesterol better to TOTALLY okay, as opposed to 'just a scoche high but I have such good GOOD cholesterol it's mostly still okay on the ratio scale'.    To that end, I picked up a box of whole grain cereal promising to have 15g of protein in it that I will alternate for some breakfasts so I am not always eating eggs and bacon/sausage.    I picked up some almonds (raw) and some more fruits to fill in the missing bits of calories in the morning and we'll see if I can pull this off.  Additionally, I am going to attempt to make a crockpot meat for my lunches, AT work this week.   It's a sesame ginger chicken thigh thing that you then throw on to some flour tortillas with some broccoli slaw.   Seems easy.  Wish me luck I pull it off!  LOL

 

So yeah, I need some new ideas for my 5 Weeks 5 Goals.   You guys are supposed to help me with this one!!  LOL.

Otherwise, let's keep at it.  And tighten up that budget business.

Tis true!  I like flour better, so I tend to alternate on them lol.   I at least got some kind of 'light flour' - I dunno.  The tortilla shelves are overwhelming by me!   SO MANY!

For your extra goals, I feel like a video of beatsaber should be one of them. Other than that, you can always do a bit of extra credit on the other life goals - a different type of workout, and extra stretch/recovery session, an extra art project?

This is so hard guys!    This not planning everything out ahead of time - and having a week full of plans and commitments.     Oh wait - did I tell everyone about the thing I did?

Finish rewriting "Toss a Coin..." for my WHFRP mercenary party.  (We hired a bard to write us a song.)

Download instrumental version of above, and record my sis singing the new lyrics to it!

Set up the green screen and get LIV working to record some Beat Saber footage.

Find/print new WHFRP sheets and get them filled out.

Maybe look for some new dress shoes/boots for work.

 

Solid plans I want to stay committed to:

Brewery outing with church friends is a go for Saturday @ Noon!

Running my D&D game Saturday night.

Food was good today!   I cooked crock pot meal at work lol!    

 

Sesame ginger chicken thighs, on tortillas with broccoli slaw.   Nice!   So I got lots of fruits and veggies in today.   Huzzah.

Calories within range (under actually but it's fine).

Exercise was an hour of Beat Saber where I focused on getting good swings and full arcs.   Burnt 360 cals in the hour I played.

Tomorrow is a lift day and NO Beat Saber because I need a darn break.

Did a sketch at lunch, that really needs some tweaking in Clip Studio (unless I want her to be part Yuan-Ti because damn her torso is too long!)

 And in awesome news, I finished Greedfall.     Here is a romantic clip that made my heart sink right before the final mission.
