Onward to fitness!

 

Quest 1 - Saturday Runs

With Bay to Breakers coming up in May, I need to get back to those lovely weekend runs. My goal is to do 5 weekend runs of 4+ miles.


Quest 2 - Keep on OTF'ing

I'm paying for the classes so I need to keep going. I want to do 3 classes a week - so a total of 15 over the course of this challenge!

Quest 3 - Eat more food

After last challenge I've determined the reason I'm not dropping the pounds as much as I'd like is my diet is off.... in short I need to eat more. With OTF routinely burning 750-900 calories per class and my minimum intake of 3000 calories I'm NOT eating enough. Time to keep logging the food and increase the intake to avoid going into starvation mode

I do the same thing. In my case it was a matter of figuring out why I was always headachy, sleepy, and short tempered despite my body never saying “hungry.”

Crossing the 3K mark on daily calories always boggles my mind a bit, but I'm glad you realized that you needed to!  Are you aiming for more meals or just larger portions?

Probably larger portion for my snacks - currently I'm having mostly fruit (apples, oranges, etc) so I might look to add HUEL into the mix which is usually 400 - 500 calories depending on what I mix it with (water vs milk)

Yesterday was a rest day as I've apparently gotten a sty in/on my right eye which caused my face to swell up ...

 

Today I did OTF sans-contacts/glasses because of said sty ... it was a tough workout with a great tread & rower block. First blocks was 0.1 miles on the tread then 100m on the rower, repeat 4 time and if you finished before time you ran for distance. Second block was 0.2 miles on the tread and 200m on the rower. Block three was 0.4 miles on the tread and 400m on the rower ... TOUGH but good stuff.

 

Weight/Floor works was all by time rather than reps. It was 30 seconds of a exercise, 15 seconds to transition to the next one.

You can keep the treadmill at speed and jump on and off, if you are either very coordinated or like living dangerously.  I am neither but others at my gym do this.

The trick for me was to hit it as fast as I could. Just ramp up with the tread ... but yeah overall annoying

Week 1 is over ... let's see how I did huh?

 

Quest 1 - Saturday Runs - FAIL! Snuggled down with the wife instead 😕 

Quest 2 - Keep on OTF'ing - PASS! Went to 4 classes, the MTW-F schedule seems to be working like a charm

 

Quest 3 - Eat more food - mixed! Definitely eating healthy, just not 100% sure I'm eating enough ... need to get back to logging food 

 

Quest 4 - Enhance my brain - Pass Started re'reading The Complete Writer's Guide to Heroes and Heroines: Sixteen Master Archetype. Thinking it'll help my RPG goodness as I can mix/match archetypes better.

Week 2 update
Quest 1 - Saturday Runs - Moved to Sunday ;) 
knocked out 3 miles with the wife yesterday

Quest 2 - Keep on OTF'ing - PASS! Again that MTW-F schedule is doing the trick!

 

Quest 3 - Eat more food - Pass! Trying to log as best I can but definitely getting more dinner as that's the meal I feel short on.

 

Quest 4 - Enhance my brain - Fail  - need to take time out of my week to read

Sorry all - things have gotten a bit trying around here. 

 

So lets break this challenge down!
 

Week 3-5 update
Quest 1 - Saturday Runs -
mixed bag, but we've done a couple of two runs in the past three days of shelter in place 
Quest 2 - Keep on OTF'ing - PASS! Aside from missing a single Friday over the past couple of weeks and well they're closed this week .. so meh

Quest 3 - Eat more food - Pass! 

Quest 4 - Enhance my brain - Pass! Finished my book and started another  so woot!
