Jupiter Posted February 17, 2020 Report Share Posted February 17, 2020 Hey Rebels! I'm normally a Druid but I thought I'd put on my Rebel hat and come hang with you guys for a challenge or two. (I've been using a battle log more than the challenge forums but decided to come back for the anniversary.) Anyway, a little bit about me: turning 30 this year (OMG), I work in the mortgage industry and I'm trying to become a writer (I've been working on my current novel for forever, and I'd really love to finish it this year), I love reading sci-fi/fantasy, and occasionally I draw anime (though I'm trying to branch out into comic book style). With work starting the busy season, I expect to be super slammed for the foreseeable future, so right now it's all about staying consistent and maintaining the good habits I've already built (and am still building). I've got 2 plans set up--one for when I'm feeling 100% and one for when I'm only feeling about 10%. I call them my 100% plan and my 10% plan. A while back I had gotten into the habit of doing all or nothing, which meant I ended up doing nothing, so I made up two separate plans to make sure I'm always doing something, even if it's only a little bit. It seems to be working pretty well so far. Anyway, here are my goals for the next 5 weeks: Fitness: 100% plan: - Strength training 20 minutes on Mondays - Yoga 20-30 minutes on Wednesdays/Fridays - Walking 30 minutes on Saturdays 10% plan: - Strength training 5 minutes on Mondays - Yoga 10 minutes on Wednesdays/Fridays Nutrition: 100% plan: - Eat 2-3 servings of fruit per day - Eat 1 serving of veggies per week 10% plan: - Eat 1 serving of fruit per day Intellectual: 100% plan: - Revise 1 and a half to 2 pages every day 10% plan: - Revise half a page every day Miscellaneous goals: - Read 30 minutes a day - Cook breakfast on Sundays - Go to bed half an hour early - Draw once a week - De-clutter the junk room once a week I think that's all for now. Crossing my fingers and hoping I can keep things going as work gets busier. (By the way, oh Great Forum Overlords (or anyone really), how does one go about creating a signature and adding links for battle logs and previous challenges and such?) Not at all, LOL. I managed to catch up a little bit on Monday, but then yesterday they threw a good 10 more files at me so I'm still way behind. My supervisor was going to give all of us more files to help out other teammates, but luckily I didn't get any, because I wouldn't have had time to do them. Still, work keeps piling up and I keep managing to kind of tread water. Usually I get super stressed but weirdly enough I felt very zen about it today and just couldn't bring myself to stress about it. I should have stayed, but I'm working over the weekend anyway so I put my foot down and left (after letting my supervisor know what wasn't done, but she didn't seem concerned, so yay). It is so crazy busy. The higher ups have projected that volume is going to be even bigger than last year (and last year was nuts), so things are tense right now. People are stressed out and snippier than normal and we're only really just getting started. Fun stuff. I'm hoping if I read as much as I can in my off time it will beat back the burnout I've been feeling lately. We'll see how it goes. I did clean, do laundry, and do some de-cluttering. I should have worked for a couple of hours too but I didn't make it. Anyway, I got a fancy new office chair. Mine was so old and hurt so much to sit in that I had to sit on a pile of towels and blankets, and even then it still hurt. I liked this one when I brought it home but after sitting in it for a little bit it's starting to hurt too.
