GOAL 1  - Eat Better and with purpose

 

Apparently when left without supervision (aka my normal routine) I subsist on 90% carbs and eat way too much because it's not filling.  To attain this I will:

  • Track calories  - general goal of 2k calories per day with 100G or so of protein
  • Eat a fresh veggie or fruit daily

GOAL 2 - DRINK WATER YOU IDIOT

 

Keeping this one basic! Drink at least 3 glasses of water each day. I put out a water cup upstairs in my office space and a separate water cup downstairs by the TV so I don't do the oh heeeey I forgot to bring water with me OH WELL DEHYDRATION HAHA. I am not counting my morning water for pills etc since I never forget that anyway.

GOAL 3 - Happy Hour

(Do stuff that actually makes me happy and don't just cope by drinking every day)

 

This one I may play around with the exact parameters as we go. I didn't want to have a million different separate goals so I am trying to make one catch all "do stuff that actually makes you happy and enriches your life" type section

 

Part 1 -Do one or more of these things every day:

  • exercise!
  • clean
  • socialize
  • creative stuff

 

Part 2- Do not drink every day and weekday drinking only if I have virtual happy hour plans.

I'm going to be more flexible on my weekends since heeeey not like I'm driving anywhere anyway, but if I'm not drinking during the week mostly my tolerance will stay low and a few weekend beers will feel a lot more fun.

Aw, adorable sad kittehz. I hear you on the dehydration - didn't realize how often I'd get up and get a drink at work just to get up and move, so now I'm fighting a dehydration headache. 

 

What's your plans for socializing? I've seen several virtual happy hour memes and photos - drink with friends on chat and stuff.

I've been doing virtual happy hours and virtual teas/ virtual hangouts of various sorts. I've probably talked on my phone, albeit with video now, more in the last week than I have in years? Lol.

Un specifically challenge related, but OMFG did not think about how much more work it might be for me working from home since I am the staff in our office that handles course scheduling and all undergrad related issues. (Plus uh, hey, it's hard to try and collect field equipment from people when no one is on campus including me. Who'd a thunk? Hahahaha) Wheeee undergrad advisor life.

At this point we are thinking of having everyone mail stuff to my bosses house and then she will quarantine them in a box somewhere. Hahahaha.

Might a well get started trying to do the things now, right?

 

Week 0, Thursday, 3/26

 

Tracked food/met calorie goal? Yes

Ate a fruit or vegetable? Yes. Tomatoes at lunch, salad at dinner. But I also had cinnamon rolls for dinner so?

Drank 3 glasses of water? Yes. 3 out of 3

 

Happy Hour (do at least 1 of these things per day:

Exercised?

Cleaned? Yes. Washed dishes. I find washing dishes relaxing now? WHO AM I?!

Socialized? Sort of. I am realizing that work Zoom meetings actually feel like socializing now. We had a big staff/faculty meeting yesterday again.

Creative stuff? Yes. I colored! Hey. It's small beans as far as artsy shit goes but it's something easy to get myself to do. I really need to get an easel or DIY some kind of macyver solution so I can do some charcoal. Also...I need to figure out how to dance with little floor space. I mean I dance around at random but I mean like DANCE dance. How am I supposed to do dramatic contemporary rolling on the floor without big space? WAAAAH.

 

Other musings: I need to get back on the wacky bodyweight stuff train. I know I know how to do a ton of things but I haven't really been doing any lately (I guess dance we do some weir shit but that's been on hiatus due to covid-19 sooo yeah.) I've been on a major lifting kick for like 2 years now. (I mean. My trainer had me do a hanging leg raise here and there but other than that.) I don't have anything I can hang from since my door pull up bar was pushing the soft wood of my door frame and now my bedroom door often has trouble closing. I've been considering getting some kind of portable aerial rig or pull up cage but considering my extra room space is full of temporary office space that isn't doable right now.  My new higher bed frame could work well for an assist on some inversions and headstand stuff though. And maybe I need to take up working on hand balancing?  Hmmmmmmmmm. I am borrowing a kettlebell from my trainer so I can at least do some basic things. Also deficit RDLS are evil when you do like a million of them even if the weight is light!!!

Current status: drowning in email and did not even realize I am supposed to be at lunch. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH.

 

Also, in challenge update-y things, as expected I was naughty and drank more beer and ate more crap than I should over the weekend buuuut hey weekend. And at least one of those days I was having a virtual happy hour with someone else hahahaha.

 

I did generally hit my other goal things and I actually made myself exercise yesterday. WOOT WOOT.

 

But anyway, if today is any indicator I am going to be drowning in email for at least the next week or so as students try to enroll classes. Hopefully it slows down after that?  WE SHALL SEE.

Also, WHY can I not get myself to do any cardio? Like...we are allowed to walk outside, or like I could go jump rope in my front yard but my brain is like NO NO OUTDOORS NOOOOOO SCARY PEOPLE BAD. Sooo anyway. Take that for what you will.

See my brain is like that except it's bugs instead of people. (Stupid Florida didn't get cold enough for long enough to kill off the wasps and mosquitoes. It's March and we've been well into the 90s daily for the past week or two. Also my mom has a vegetable garden so all the weird bugs are coming out of nowhere to feast on our tomato blossoms and green beans.)

And skating instead of jump rope. Also I don't have a jump rope right now lol.

I have lots of stairs and I'm constantly up and down those but I don't generally count that as exercise (3 story house).  I also have a snazzy jump rope but I don't have space for using it indoors unfortunately.

Ooook try to remember what I did yesterday. It's been a weird week with work being super insane AND I had to emergency have a plumber come out todat because the toilet decided that NOW was the time to start leaking. (But hey. Decided to just get a totally new toilet and replace the old nasty one from the 90s so, winning? Minus having to have a person in my house!)

 

Week 1, Day 1, Monday 3/30

 

Tracked food/met calorie goal? Yes. Actually was low on calories but decided now is a decent time to do a cut since I'm not lifting heavy right now anyway because no equipment

Ate a fruit or vegetable? Yes. Blueberries! I was going to have a salad also but got distracted by popcorn.

Drank 3 glasses of water? Yes. 3 out of 3

 

Happy Hour (do at least 1 of these things per day:

Exercised? Yes. Did some annoying ab things because being stuck at home is time to remember the evil that is the cirque du soleil ab workout video + other aerial ab torture things

Cleaned? Yes. Cleaned the bathroom extra since I knew a plumber was coming Tues.

Yesssss. I think I am free tomorrow night or the weekend.  I have a board meeting for the non-profit I work with at 5 my time and could maybe do after but between plumbing stress and work stress maybe tomorrow is better.  On the plus side plumber is here fixing the part that is leaking on new toilet soooo should be fixed and stuff soon.

Hooo boy. This week ended up way more stressful than I planned with plumbing-gate 2020 on top of COVID-19 stress and then work being crazy. We had the plumber out Tuesday to replace the toilet, but then the new one was leaking and we had to have them out again to fix it. I have no slept well all week due to "aaaaaaaah my house is going to fall apart" anxiety and having to have a plumber out when we are supposed to avoid contact as much as possible. UGGGGGH.

 

On the plus side we have a nice new toilet that is now not leaking so yay!

I don't know if I can remember what happened tuesday or wednesday other than PLUMBING WHEEEEE and like, 2 hour Zoom meeting for non-profit volunteer stuff on top of 9 hour work day but I'll try. Also I seem to remember I said I'll try not to drink every day on weekdays as a goal but I didn't put it in my tracky track blob, so adding that.

Tracked food/met calorie goal? Yes. Low on calories again intentionally. Yay mini cut because why the fuck not.

Ate a fruit or vegetable? Apparently yes. Myfitnesspal tells me I had olives. It's not much but hey it's something.

Drank 3 glasses of water? Yes? I think? I don't know man.

 

Did you drink today? (minimal drinking on weekdays, ideally social only): No. Woohoo!

Happy Hour (do at least 1 of these things per day:

I have no damn clue if I did any of these on Tues. Probably did some litter scooping at minimum? But cannot confirm

Week 1, Day 3 Wednesday 4/1

 

Tracked food/met calorie goal? Yes. Even with alcohol included I was still at a bit of a cut. Assuming my usual calories for a cut makes since given my way reduced exercise output? But likewise my "maintenance" calories of 2k usually still has me losing fluff when I am at full normal amount of workouts so I think I should be good. Going to have to just keep an eye out on how the body looks and make sure no extra floof happens. (I don't really want to do a full recalibration with daily weigh ins again since it gets me into overly restrictive mindset and cutting more than I should. Luckily tracking alone does not cause that problem so yay. I can usually get away with intuitive eating and eat not like an asshole when not in weirdo hermit lock down but for now that's a nah.)

Ate a fruit or vegetable? I had an apple. Considering how yesterday went I am pretty proud I remembered!

Drank 3 glasses of water? No. No I did not. Thus the headache from beer mentioned in next goal item. I kept wanting flavored water but not wanting to go alllll the way downstairs to grab one of the squeezy water flavor bottles. This seemed like an impossible task for some reason (probably stress!) soo yeah. woops.

 

Did you drink today? (minimal drinking on weekdays, ideally social only): Hell yes I did. Haha. Long fucking day with work + board meeting + plumbing stress. But uh, I am paying for it on today (Thursday) with a sweet sweet headache.

Still way not sure on this area.

Exercised? Yes! Oh I forgot! I did! Not a full workout I should have done ( should have been KB squat and KB tricep push up evil day). Did some bodyweight squats while I cooked dinner and I did some tendus in my kitchen as well (ballet warm up)

Cleaned? Probably did some litter box duty?

Socialized? If I am counting work meetings then yes. One zoom meeting with work and one loooong zoom meeting with second work I don't get paid for.

Creative stuff?

Wednesday seems to have been a stress day for like everyone I know on every social platform. Not sure if it was just weird timing or what. Hope the headache went away and today's looking up for you.
