It's been a looong time.

I left here without really thinking I would come back. On a couple of occasions all of my stuff disappeared from the site. The other day I stopped in to see what was up with this down time in the world and noticed another challenge was beginning. With that, I thought maybe this would help me along as the last two weeks at home have not seen me really get started on all the "plans" of good intentions I would do.

Given the time I have, I wanted to be intentional about doing some of the things that I love to do now that time was not an issue. I have not been doing well, so I want to embed some of these into the challenge.

Baseline 3/27/20

  • I have not been tracking my food at all. When I do I drop pounds without even making major changes. Awareness is a great weapon.
  • Water intake is terrible. I don't remember the last time I took in 64 ounces in a day.
  • While I have been getting out and walking each day this week, my daily average of steps over the last 28 days according to Fitbit data is 6215 steps.
  • I found out two weeks ago I would be off work. FANTASTIC! I can get in that strength training! Nope, not once. I know this is key to me being who I want to be.
  • I have guitars and a bass laying around, again telling myself I have the time. Committing to a minimum of 10 minutes gets the ball rolling.
  • So much reading I want to do, whether it is for pleasure, personal development, or professional development. I have done none over the last two weeks. Committing to 10 pages is a small enough number and I know I will keep going once started.

Heyyo, welcome back!

is it possible your username is making the system cranky? In the past I’ve noticed that it cuts off after the $ in my notifications.

Thanks for stopping in Flea!

That's weird, I suppose it could be possible. Though I was around a log time before it happened. Support said the first time was around when they did an update and it happened to others too if I remember right. Second time was not "resolved."

Oh well, it seems to be working now, we'll see if my content makes it through the challenge.

Off and running!

A cold and windy day in Midwest USA. Getting my steps in was going to be a challenge today. I took off this morning for a walk and just thought about how it is okay that it is a challenge, I'm not walking because it is a nice day. I'm walking because I need to move. I had half my steps for the day done with that walk. The other half came throughout the day and another PM walk with my son.

The toughest one here was the water. I am finishing that up as I type this. I nailed everything except strength training today, and that isn't scheduled until tomorrow.

I have been off work for the last couple of weeks. Going to try to spend 8-10am on work stuff this week even though I don't have to. I need to get some sort of a schedule going again.

Until tomorrow...

In danger of not getting my 10,000 today I had a choice of sitting in front of the TV or going out for four miles. I took the hard way

I dusted Zombies run off in my phone. I have had it on there for well over a year and finally did the second mission today. Seems as good a time as any to start working these into my workouts toward those steps.

The other stuff.

I woke in the 3am hour and could not get back to sleep. After a meeting this morning for work I fell back asleep and felt like....what I would imagine a zombie feels like the rest of the day.

I really felt like I was going to bomb everything today. Getting back from the walk/jog ( only a couple jogs to be honest..just enough to stay out of zombie reach) I just did my weapons practice with the Fender Play free lessons. I have played guitar and bass since high school but never took a lesson. decided to jump on the free bass lessons for weapons practice during this challenge.

Now off to get my reading done and log the food... stay awesome!

I have to say that with the launch of NF Prime this last week, this was almost left behind. I kept up on the same goals, but I thought I may go that way with the interaction.

After scoping out the Prime I I see how it can be helpful to some, but for myself I already paid for all the programs they are giving away free and Discord appears like being in a chat room where I don't know anybody. The live videos can be helpful.

Anyway...I want to finish this challenge(which is my biggest goal of this all).

42 total points possible this week

32 points scored

76% =C Current Grade

Challenge Goals:

Nutrition:

  • Track Food Daily (35 Pts Possible)
    • Week 1 7 Points
    • Total Score= 7 pts
  • 64 Oz Water Daily (35 Pts Possible)
    • Week 1 4 pts
    • Total Score= 4 pts

NOTES: I was killing it on the water until it fell off toward the end of the week. Logging food but I came over the cals a couple days. The point right now is just to be logging them. I know when I do that it gets better.

Physical:

  • 10000 (35 Pts Possible)
    • Week 1 7 pts
    • Total Score= 7 pts
  • 15 Strength Training Days (2.33 pts each = 35 pts possible rounding up)
    • Week 1 0 pts
    • Total Score= 0 pts

NOTES: If I excelled at all this week in was int he step department. I sit a lot at work and since I'm off now I can be moving more. I got the steps in donig many walks, some geocaching, and yard work.

BASELINE was 6215 average steps a day...I averaged 10933 steps a day! (Back patting)

The strength training is still a bump for me. I was going to do 3 days a week, every other day. Still the goal. I may switch to my 3 days on one off routine toward the end of the challenge to pick up the points....first I have to start.

Level Up Life

  • Weapons-Practice a musical instrument at least 10 min daily (35 Pts Possible)
    • Week 1 7 pts
    • Total Score= 7 pts
  • Read 10 pages (35 Pts Possible)
    • Week 1 7 pts
    • Total Score= 7 pts

I have played with my bass every day this week. I just recently got one again after taking a couple decades off. I never had any lessons and was self taught...just good enough to play in some pretty bad bands back in the early 90s. Decided to take Fender up on their free offer for lessons. Did that for most of teh days but have tarted learning and practicing a song the last two. Back to the lessons tomorrow.

The reading went well. I'm hoping to chip away at several partially read books I have going.

Hope all is well in NF land for everyone else. On to another week...
