Lady of the Bog is Keeping Relatively Sane and Fit

I'm back for a plague challenge! My intentions this time around are to maintain what is left on my sanity, avoid getting coronaed (I'm a nurse), start running regular like, keep up my working out, and hopefully catalogue the creation of our very own garage gym. We bought a historic very old home (to be fair, like every third house is a historic house in the neighborhood) and will be moving in probably next week? I'll also be writing about that no doubt. I've played the Celtic harp for quite some time- lately I've been wanting to get into thanatology and I'm starting with a book of healing harp music.  Also, last but not very least- and what I spend most of my time doing- keeping a 3 year old entertained now that the state is locked down.

Current workout: home workouts (barre- I fucking love it despite myself), occasional yoga

Goal workouts: continue home workouts (barre), run x2/week, add some heavy lifting in as we get the squat rack situation figured out

Sanity: get to the beach house, avoid consuming too much corona media, garden, find time away from family (ideally x2 nights/week in the basement), get d&d zooming it up, share some music here, and practice my harp regularly

Thank you all for following along!

Here's some recent pics before I accidentally washed my phone. Everything is mostly working except there's condensation on the lens- speaking of which does anyone know how to fix that without ruining my phone? All Apple stores are closed and it's a 2 week (or longer) wait for a replacement, good times. ANYWAYS:

Welcome back! Stay safe, hopefully it isn't too crazy where yo are. I'm sort of  remembering you live in Oregon , not sure if that is right? Anyway, if that's correct , right now it's safe but being between Wa and Ca is probably not that safe feeling

I keep hoping, wishing that maybe the fact that Oregon is rural and locked down relatively fast that we won't feel it. I definitely have been having anxiety- partly about the fact that we are woefully lacking in PPE (masks being the main problem), big part because I am EXTREMELY worried for patients/the community at large, and partly because I am terrified of bringing it back to my extended family. Moving forward, my husband is getting off Wednesdays (I work Wednesdays and Sundays) so my MIL won't be exposed as she was watching my daughter then now that preschool has been cancelled. Just keep moving forward!

I'm hoping that is the case. I think it seems likely. Plus, just being rural helps. It seems to spread faster in denser populations

SHOOT! This entire challenge went by without me ever really posting on here. Lockdown here has me pretttyyyy busy but maybe it's also moving and trying to get the vegetable garden in before too much later.

How have I been doing with staying relatively sane and fit? Still holding onto bits of sanity but pretty much holding steady to pre-plague levels as I have already lost my mind  time or two. I am wondering when/how we will come back to a semblance of pre-plague times particularly in the absence of  coordinated rational strategy and particularly without increased testing capabilities but maybe we can start injecting ourselves with disinfectant. I kid but do I really??

So- how did I do with my challenge? I think I've been doing remarkably well in plague times but also didn't do so hot on this challenge because, though I did keep up with many of my goals, I didn't really check in one them. I've been going with the flow a lot but not having planning a lot.

1) We did move into our new old house! I love it so. Still figuring out placement and storage et al but loving my new neighborhood a lot and just love this old house. Been rushing around trying to get the garden into shape for the summer months.  The gargage gym is alright- we have accumulated a fair set of dumbbells up to 65 lbs. I think we are going to get a squat rack from Rogue but last time we checked they were back ordered due to covid-isolation demand.

2) Workouts: I've kept up working out consistently which is really something given I don't have a lot of alone time these days. I found good running trails around our house. I really hate running on concrete so having wooded, dirt trails to run in is heavenly. I've only done about 1x/week heavy lifting. I'm find it hard to do two a days particularly because my daugher's been extra attached-likely due to corona changes and moving changes.

3) Sanity: So, haven't made it out to the beach house as the coast towns have basically said don't come out here. Maybe in a month we will venture out and just keep to ourselves! Pack in groceries and have the least impact as possible? I have been consuming very little corona related media because I'm hardly on my phone or computer these days? We've fallen into  rhythm and it isn't really including screens? Definiely gardening a lot, hoping that we get the sunshine back!

Thank you all for following and maybe next challenge I'll be more present! I'll make it an intention!

Here's  photo log:

Hi, ladyofthebog, Sophie!

Some ages ago we agreed to be accountabilibuddies for mindless snacking on my battle log and then I stopped coming on NF :) Sorry about that. I guess you disappeared as well?

You are doing quite well though! Beautiful pictures!

I did!! I’m disappearing from my virtual world lately... I want to promise to be better but then I get distracted with everything calling to me- want to do next challenge and commit to at least weekly check in’s on ourselves and each other?? Hope you are well!

Good to see you back and those farm pictures are way too cute. Especially the goat and cat ones.

That cat is the best kid cat I’ve ever met. Kind of like a dog actually. Thank you for always checking in even when I’m so sporadic!

That's perfectly understandable! I have the privilege of being mostly in charge of my own time atm, with relatively few responsibilities. Also, I pretty much don't follow any social media besides this forum, sooo :)

Thank you, you too! Yes, that sounds like a plan! :) We'll reseal the deal when the challenge starts because circumstances are changing from day to day, let alone week to week. Looking forward to it, though!

Kicking ass in real life is more important than keeping up with us. But we do appreciate it when you check in... especially with such great pictures of your area. I miss it up there.

Glad you are doing well!

While we miss hearing from you, I think this is a good thing to be one with your new home and new rhythm without interrupting it with tech.
I love your woodsy photos and I'm a little envious at the moment.
I hope all is still well and you are just staying in good rhythm without screens...
