As a fellow member of your age/gender demographic I would say "Meh - unless you have a specific deficiency, you probably don't need supplements".   That said, I take protein and creatine, but they only provide a marginal benefit at best.

"Toned" isn't really a thing, but if you are looking to get muscle definition, you are going to want to do a couple of things

1. Strength training.  This could be with weights, bodyweight stuff or some combination.  My personal preference is bodyweight plus deadlifts, but this is entirely up to your own preference.

2. Reduce body fat.  This is pretty much done by eating less and/or better and... Nope, that's pretty much it.

Aerobic/cardio exercises are also great, but probably not going to significantly impact body composition unless you do a LOT of it.

There are tons of options for both of those and NF is a great place to find what works for you.  I

Hello,

I'm just starting to workout again.  I'm a 48 year old male just looking to get toned and gain a little muscle.

Should I take any supplements at my age?

Welcome! You don't have to take supplements. Protein powder can be useful if you have trouble meeting your protein goals with only whole foods. I wouldn't add anything else unless you have specific concerns.
