Scout Camp : Shelter in Place v2

Recommended Posts

About the rest of you good folk but here in the Bay we're still sheltering in place ...

Seems to be a way of life at this point

Even so doesn't mean we can't find beauty around us

or keep pushing towards our goals.

Here for solidarity in sheltering, or staying at home, or quarantining, or whatever it's called where whoever is currently reading this, resides.

And by that I mean solidarity from a safe distance, of course. I respect your pole arms.

I need to find me a lake without boats... That’s the only way I’m getting any laps in

Hey Scouts. I'll be here at base camp saying high as you complete loops, or whatever it is you runners do.

I can totally picture you in a top hand, handing out Monopoly cash at the starting square.

That awesome! And maybe a cowboy hat instead of the top hat

I'm off to a strong start, challenging well and back to running last night.

Night runs can be good fun - ran a few Ragnar trail races and those always require each team member to do a loop at night ... exciting and scary !

I keep meaning to do some, but haven't done one in several months. They are pretty fun sometimes.

Now you have me thinking.  I missed today's run and now have a surplus of energy... we'll see how rebellious I am feeling at midnight and I may go do hillsprints in the 0-dark-30.

I live and run in the city so "night runs" still involve enough ambient lighting and some people around to make me feel safe enough. Just thought I'd clarify, because a night run in a trail or the woods is a totally different thing.

Something that might be fun:

Anyone want to go to a concert on Friday? [Free]

I'm excited about it because my brother has seen them live several times. I've never seen them even though I live near Boston. For years, I've been sort of hinting to try to get my brother to come out and see a concert with me. We'll finally get to see them together...sort of.

That sounds fun. Now I have Friday plans!

Things are going well here. I’m using the nicer than expected weather to get out on and around the lakes. It’s a good reminder after a long winter why I love living where I do.

Nice, thanks for the heads-up!

I'm not making much progress workout-wise, but at least I'm keeping my nutrition in check and losing that quarantine extra weight.
