Rookie, Do Hear Those Drums?

Recommended Posts

Hey friends! Everyone ready for another week of Jumanji? It's been one heck of a mental/emotional rollercoaster for me (and I am sure many of you).

1: 1700 calories a day

2: Ankle exercises 5 days a week

3: Pick 3 things to "Seize the day" and do them

My first thought when I saw your title was The Drums from Dr. Who.

Jumanji works too, been wanting to watch that movie ever since we did that group challenge a while back.

Got faith that you're gonna carpe the jugulum out of your diem!

Haha theres a second one out. I quite like both of the new ones but the first one is the best. The original used to scare me :P

1: 1700 calories a day [1/6]

2: Ankle exercises 5 days a week [0/5]

3: Pick 3 things to "Seize the day" and do them [1/6]

Seize the day!

1. Mow front + back lawn + prune shurbbery [check]

2. Work on doggo painting [check]

3. Pickle jalapenos [check]

I am not sure how much time I will actually get to do things as we have been watching the Office or if it rains... so I have some back up ideas and I might need to adapt to those.

Paint while watching the Office? If you'll say that you take breaks between episodes, I don't believe you, since nobody in the world would be so sensible (at least I wouldn't :P).

No lol Then I would miss everything. Plus my art table faces a wall so I would get a crook in my neck. Instead, we watched 2-3 episodes while eating dinner then I went off to do my things haha then I came back and we watched some more then they went off to play League of Legends with BFs coworkers and then we watched another episode before bed.  So somehow I got it all fit in!

Seize the day!

- Clean and oil saddle + bridle [✓]

- Sew masks [✓]

- Laundry [✓]

Todays dinner will be balsamic chicken with broccoli and rice on the side. :)

I may have sold my bright red with giraffe pattern on the butt breeches woohoo. I go Saturday to exchange it with the lady before the barn. Hopefully I planned enough time in case she is late or I need to wait that I can still make my barn time.

Also little reminder, if anyone has their payment info saved on Amazon, make sure you set up 2-step verification. My amazon got hacked Monday morning and the person purchased ugly festive throw blankets. They changed my email and archived the order so I couldn't see it. Luckily I had the app on my phone and it alerted me that my order shipped so I was able to catch it and cancel it before any harm was done.

We got indian food last night woops. BUT OMG having the real thing is amazzzing and I ate too much. I wish I could make Korma Chicken as good as the restaurant.

Seize the day!

1. Photograph dog painting and get the OK that its done from client.  [✓]

1.5 Varnish dog painting [✓]

2. Load car with horse stuff [✓]

3. Start new painting [✓]

I found that one of the artists that I really admire is doing zoom classes for painting Saturday nights. I think I would like to join some of those :)

As for my next painting I am undecided which one to start next.

Here are the options

a) Big misty tree painting

b) Memorial painting of calico kitty

c) A copy of the hands  + butterfly (my coworker commissioned me to do another one for her niece)

d) A close up of my face to go with the one I did of my BFs (just for fun)

e) Memorial painting of cockerspaniel x pug dog

Well dang son. The lady I just did the dog painting for now would like me to do one of her cat and once I master human portraits, she would love me to do one of each of her kids as babies. I am so happy! I am feeling pretty accomplished. Which means I should probably get on doing my first actual portrait soon to practice.

I've been told that the secret is in the ghee. Lots of it.

Congratulations on the new commission :). Tbf, the dog-painting is awesome!

They use some sort of black magic that I would consider selling my soul to know.  Really I think its a greater quantity of ghee and salt then I use at home.  And patience tempering spices.

Congratulations on the commission!

Thanks everyone lol

I guess I will need to get some ghee lol

Seize the day:

1. Drop off mom's mother Day gift

2. Meet person to sell my riding pants

3. Second coat of varnish on dog painting.

I actually rode today! It was alright. We kept it pretty easy because I didn't want to over do it with my ankle. She was being cheeky today and ran away when I went to get her. It was quite chilly as it was windy and kept randomly snowing / hailing. But I enjoyed the time regardless.

I forgot to mention... I also dropped off a handwritten letter for my niece in an envelope addressed to her. Lol I don't think they found it yet. 😉

I also got the wobble board from my sister ♥️ so I started doing some of those exercises now.
