On the one hand that looks like a really good way to make your home feel very small.

On the other hand the level of awesome is off the charts. :)

This is kinda random, but does anyone know of a small-ish business that sells essential oil diffusers at a reasonable price? I have one that works with a tea light that I enjoy but I want something I can leave on for longer. I'm also tired of giving money to Amazon and Walmart 😕

ETA: located in the U.S. in case that wasn't obvious :P

If anyone is interested, and didn't already know, the US is launching astronauts into space today (assuming the weather cooperates).  Coverage is currently live on NASA's and SpaceX's youtube channels (and probably also NASA TV?), with launch expected at 16:33 Eastern/13:33 Pacific.

Literally less than an hour ago there were tornado warnings within 20 miles of the station. 🙃 But Trump and Pence made it there soooooooo

Here's a ink to NASA's YouTube channel where they live stream events like this, if anyone else is interested: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCLA_DiR1FfKNvjuUpBHmylQ

Glad for safety, sad for me that now I likely won't be able to watch it due to conflicting commitments :(

Boo! :(  There will definitely be recordings available to watch it when you have time.  Not quite as cool as watching live, though.

*cries in Solid Mechanics*

I didn't cry this much this early in Thermo. Solids is supposed to be Statics part 2. I did flawlessly in Statics. Why is this so hard?????

Ah yes. Solids. Every engineer/science degree has that one course that just blows. Solids is that for many MechEs. I feel your pain.

I think every major has one class that is just an absolute killer.  The one that killed me was Operations Management (supply chain management and warehousing optimization)

But you get to play with some fun shortest path problems and some (non)linear programming examples for layout optimization! How can that not warm your inner math geek's heart?

:D

My horror course will always be Electromagnetic Wave theory (Part 2). There is a reason I did not go into the high power/high frequency realm. I still shutter when someone talks about transverse modes and waveguides. In fact, I think I'm going to go pour myself a drink and forget I mentioned it.

My sister was in the class with me and she absolutely loved.  Her favorite class in her major in fact.  I think the big difference here is that she was an accounting major where everything has its place and there is always a right answer, whereas I was a finance major where there is rarely a "right" answer and everything is game theory and dealing with thermal dynamics levels of chaos :D

This actually sounds fun, and I don't care much for business esque topics.

UCF is one of maybe 6 universities in the States that offers Optical Engineering (Photonics). One of my colleagues in the spring was taking Electrodynamics, but his professor had only taught it to graduate students before and he didn't scale it down to undergraduate level to match the audience. Last I heard (in March) the entire class was failing and nobody had anything above like a 50.

Sounds exactly like my EM 2 class in college. (also my electronics 2 class, and my analog design class but really there isn't a pattern here I swear). He was an old school professor who shunned computers or any visualizations and didn't like undergrads. I vividly remember him berating us because he thought our math skills were inept and that we needed to be sent to a remedial diffy q class. I'm so glad that there is a lot more to electrical engineering than just EM. Just about broke me.

I've found that upper level/grad level business courses are amazingly fun. I took a masters level financial engineering course that was run out of the business school and was shocked with the amount of CS algorithm talk there was.
