Bulking as a female boxer

Hi guys,

new to the forum

i am a 18 year old female boxer who has been doing the sport for about a year and muay thai two years before that. I was very underweight many months ago and managed to gain about 12 kilos to get to a healthy weight. I am not about 51kg at 5’5 but am aiming for about 54kg and want to improve my strength.

 

will boxing training (heavy bag, pads, bodyweight exercises, hill sprints, running) be enough to build decent muscle or will i have to hit the heavy weights too in order to avoid gaining excess fat. I am eating about a 400 cal surplus at the moment.
