SebastianN
Hi folks, I come from the great north, way up there in Canada. Not the north of Canada, but from the capital, Ottawa, in Ontario. In the past, I used to be in great shape, then I gained weight. Then I lost it, then I gained it again. It was partly due to my own undoing, partly due to other reasons. So now is the time I plan to loose weight again, get in great running shape, run a 10K race non-stop before I turn 30! Look leaner and fitter, and regain my athleticism. I'm glad I found this community! It will be a place where I continue to post my progress in the Scouts and contribute to a great nerdling community. I'm a bit of a gamer, for video games that is, not board games. I also am a major nerd when it comes to programming. I pretty much code practically every single week. I am excited to have found a new healthy hobby besides coding, and that is running, and participating in this community. It will be a fresh start! Best, Sebastian N. 1 Quote Link to comment
Edgedancer
Welcome Sebastian and nice to meet you! I'm also a geek living in Canada, in Montréal, so not so far. Are you a learning programmer? What kind of projects do you like to work on? Running a 10k is a nice goal! SebastianN
Well I'm a developing programmer. I've built websites for clients where I wrote the code myself. I work with Hugo + Forestry.io, WordPress, and Craft CMS. Other then that I studied Graphic Design in College. I agree that 10k is a nice goal and a good distance. Anything more than 10k is very strenuous and taxing on the mind. Quote Link to comment
Edgedancer
Great! I don't know much about web design outside of basic HTML and CSS. I work in machine learning so it is a bit different. SebastianN
That's interesting. I've never done machine learning myself. Quote Link to comment
pixie_dust
Hey Sebastian awesome work getting into running thats amazing! It's one of those things I would love to do but haven't managed to do it well... yet! As I progress with Rangers training I'm sure I'll be able to give it another go. I look forward to hearing more about your progress and hitting your 10k race goal! Pix Quote Link to comment
