Thank you, friends!  This was a bit of an emotional roller coaster week for me, and the scale showed it. 241.2.  I'll get back under 240 this week. My family is pushing a lot of buttons. I'm going to journal a lot more to process my feelings and figure out a better way to deal with my family when they're not okay. 

 

In the meantime, it's time to fill up the water bottle and get back out to yard work! :D

It sucks when families just can’t cooperate.   You’ve got a great plan!  You do you and enjoy the yard work!

Thanks! It's better today. Mom is helping me with the yard work, and it's very stress-relieving. She was really happy for a bit and now she's really tired. I'm ready for a rest day and she's like "WE NEED MORE MULCH" 😂  I've showered already so moar mulch has to wait until tomorrow. 

 

I said this in my challenge thread, but I turned off my phone today, and realized that everyone else who has problems can figure those out without my help. It feels good.

Hi friends! 

 

I'm taking a step back from weigh ins for a little bit until I feel like I'm in a better headspace. Instead of weigh-ins, I thought it would be fun to list 5 things I'm looking forward to this week, and  invite you to share yours too!

 

  1. Hiking with my mom.
  2. Playing SpiritFarer.
  3. Driving to Tennessee this weekend. 
  4. Sitting on the front porch with a cold beer.
  5. finding out what happens next in the book I'm listening to.

Love this!  Those are great things to look forward to.  You're going to have an awesome week!  

 

For me

1. My dad is coming for a visit this weekend.  We haven't seen them since before the pandemic due to border closings and testing requirements blah blah blah

2. Spending time with Peach tonight.

3. Spending time on the couch with DDG anytime.  

4. I'm baking a cake with a new recipe for work this week.  I hope it turns out! 

5. Hopefully working on one of my creative projects with Peach.

I LOVE your 5!  That sounds really lovely all around with quality family time and please give cake updates! :D I bet it does turn out! You're a good baker.

I'm starting weigh-ins again!

 

Starting Weight: 243.8

Goal Weight: 180

Date to accomplish goal: AS LONG AS IT TAKES! (I just needed to say that)

 

Currently, I'm playing Fitness Boxing, looking at my dumbbells, getting yard work done, and going for walks. I'd like to add Ringfit Adventure, dumbbell exercises and some bodyweight stuff. I also have on my current challenge to try a kettlebell workout, and so far...I've looked at the kettlebell. :D

I think this is a combination of sleep deprivation and stressed out from being social. I'm eating well and I'm exercising, so this is stress. I always pack on stress pounds and after some quiet time and a good night's sleep, it just melts off again.  I'm taking an hour to chill out before I need to get moving.

2023 Bookmark

 

This year I'm focusing on my health. That means losing weight, getting strong, and reducing stress.  I'm starting with a clean table and am going to be really picky about what I put back on that table.

 

January feels like a reset month for me. I want to clean things out, fix up some things, and enjoy the quiet. I'm going to exercise a lot, and eat healthy foods  and just enjoy the time I have before I have to fly back down to Florida and help my folks drive home.

 

February: TBA

Today was a weighday, and I said in my challenge that I think my scale needs a new battery. I also think I need a break from scales. This battle log has primarily been a weight/body measurement tracker, and I think instead I might use it to track my workouts so I can see myself level up as the year goes on. I know that I need to lose weight, but I think more importantly right now, I need to focus on eating foods that make me feel good, getting stronger and more fit. I think the weight right now is secondary, and that will resolve itself as I learn to change my relationship with my body and also my relationship with food. 

 

I think I'll continue to post weekly, and we'll see how it goes from there. :)

Update:

I've posted on my challenge, but I tested positive for Covid. This is my second go-around with it, and it's a lot better than the first time. Once I've recovered, I'm going to be excited to get back to business as usual. I suspect I got it from my cousin's children who were all sick when we were on our way home and stopped at my aunt's house.  she didn't know they were sick until later that evening. Three sick kids was a long night for her. I feel bad for them. At least we didn't get symptomatic until we were home!
