I recently discovered I like Dr Pepper and it's the only soda I will buy now. "Pop" sounds weird to me now, too, 12 years after moving to LA, but growing up in Seattle that's what we called it. "Soda" sounds more sophisticated to me, like I feel fancier asking for "soda" than "pop," and I think that's also because of the "soda water" connotation. (Which I like, incidentally. I'm one of the rare breeds that likes plain unflavored soda water.)

Pepsi always leaves me feeling like there is a film on my teeth.

I've had pulled Pork once that had a good enough dry rub it didn't need sauce. If you come to Texas October-April it isn't unbearably hot (though it may still feel warm). As I've said before, even during the winter Solstice we get over 10 hours of light.

To be fair, it doesn't become really weird until people start talking about "soda music" and "Euro-soda", and start debating the differences between the two...

Today is a good day. Got to run some errands and spend time with the baby. Did a mini-workout for the NF Journey App daily win and a mobility test for that challenge. LUnch was good. I cooked some orzo to be a base. Meanwhile I cooked chicken thighs (chopped) in avocado oil with a pre-made mix called "Greek Seasoning" and white wine vinegar. When it was almost done I drained most of the liquid to get the outside toasted and wilted in some spinach. I topped it with a mixture I made with plain Greek Yogurt, Feta, lemon zest and Lemon Juice. It was amazing. Dinner is the steak, green beans and sweet potatoes I made yesterday.

You'll get the home cooking, and the tacos are at a Restraunt. Everyone gets the Tacos, not everyone has the time to stay for home cooking. I think @Wild Wolf and Princess Mononoke (Sorry, the tagging system is being weird) might be the only ones who have gotten a Tank Cooked Meal so far.

It's already started cooling off by September (Highs usually only in the 90s as opposed to breaking 100). The tradeoff is lack of SAD in the winter. As I always brag, we get over 10 hours of daylight on the Winter Solstice.

Today is a good day. I went out and voted and picked up a prescription on the way home. It was actually cold enough to wear a light jacket! We spent the morning just chilling then I made lunch. I cooked some diced onion, carrots, celery and garlic in avocado oil with Italian seasoning and red wine vinegar. When it had cooked about 5 minutes I added 2 lbs of ground beef with salt, pepper and red wine vinegar. When that had cooked I added a tablespoon of flour and stirred it in to thicken the liquid that had cooked off of the veggies and the meat. I then added Marinara sauce and served it over fresh fettucine and topped with Parmesan. It was incredible.

I've been very diplomatic in my description of BBQ. Pulled Pork is OK if you can't get Brisket.
