OOOOOH, splitting wood is so much fun! Plus the sledge ax will be perfect in a zombie apocalypse!.

Splitting wood is fun when it's a novelty. If I had to do it for several days to create enough stock to make it through the winter I suspect some of the shine might wear off.

Thank you, the meds are a miracle. Plus they are generic, and my plan gives free generic drugs, so major win.

Admirable, going to do stuff when you just had a migraine, i'm a real MAN when it comes to that. Just a lot of bitching and whining, curling up in a ball of nothingness on the couch or in bed.

Way to go Tank!

The relief from the pain is so real it makes the lingering effects seem negligible.

Splitting wood can be very nice. You get into a rhythm and you have to stay fairly focussed which makes it meditative. There is something nice about chopping wood to keep your home warm, as well.

I imagine that will become true once I learn to aim the maul.

Today is a good day. I did the NF Mobility workout for the day, and got my truck inspected. I actually cooked today. I'm still feeling a little low energy, though no headache. The dinner was Rosemary-Dijon chicken with Faro-Apple-Brusselsprout salad. Sorry for no cooking description. It took a lot of willpower just to cook, and I'm about to start work, and I don't have the reserves to write out what I cooked.

Me neither, to be honest. I'm going on hear-say here. I prefer whatever one might mix with the coke to be alone in a tumbler. Under the right circumstances, ice might be acceptable.

Today is a good day. Woke up still feeling kinda blah (Probably because the baby got up in the middle of the night). Managed to do a "Something is better than nothing" workout (some swings and stretches). Made a good lunch. I made a salad with a sliced apple and baby spinach. The dressing was 3 tbsp balsamic vinegar, 2 tbsp olive oil, 2 tsp honey, 2 tsp mustard, and some salt and pepper. That was good. I've never had or made balsamic honey mustard before, but it goes well with apple and spinach.

The main course was some Italian chicken meatballs I heated in the oven, along with some cook-in-the-microwave elbow maccaroni. The sauce started out as a bechamel (butter, flour and milk) with marinara added in, and a lot of mozarella. It was Italian-meatball mac-n-cheese with Balsamic-Honey-Mustard apples and spinach. We really enjoyed it.

Edit: on the plus side, it makes those "drink fewer sodas" challenges really easy. Kind of hard to drink fewer than zero.

The one thing I've stuck with from my low-carb/south beach/paleo days was I don't drink regular soft drinks anymore. When I do, like you, I find them sickeningly sweet.

I don't drink much soda, but after a really long run (or in the middle of a really really long run) nothing tastes better.

On the subject of mixed drinks, I want to make a new case for ginger beer. I really like a good dark and stormy. Vaguely nautical and kind of pretty.

I don't think ginger beer is a mixed drink, or are you saying you use ginger beer in drink mixes?

Today is a good day. We went to church, where the sermon was about time, and I deleted three apps off of my phone while the pastor was preaching. I got rid of the facebook app, I'll still be on, but only on browsers on computers. I got rid of the imgur app, again I'll still use it on desktop. And I got rid of the one game I play. I'm not against using the phone for entertainment; I still have my kindle and the netflix app on there, I just don't want to waste time on those apps on the phone. We went out to eat for lunch and other people from church went to the same place, so we sat in an open air part of the dining area at seperate tables but close enough to hear each other. It was a lot of fun. After that we went to Target for a few things we needed and a few things we didn't need and didn't know we wanted till we saw them. When we got home a neighbor gave us this playset:
41mJF1f+MnL._AC_.jpg

as her girls had outgrown it. We put it in the backyard and little bit loved it. We let her play for a bit out there and I made dinner, which wasn't bad but wasn't great. I made some rice and some "Sesame chicken" but it wasn't breaded and wasn't very sweet. It wasn't bad though. What was good was some pickled red onion and cucumber. About an hour before I served dinner I think sliced an English cucumber and sliced half of a red onion, then put all that in a bowl and added some soy sauce, mirin, and white vinegar. For effect I added four whole cloves, though i don't know if an hour was long enough to get the flavor out of the cloves.  The veggies were very good that way, I'll be doing it again. We did laundry in the afternoon as well.

I'd definitely be willing to hear a case for ginger beer. We got some for drinks last Christmas and I was not expecting it to taste the way it did. I'd be willing to try a mixed drink / brand with recommendations.

Today is a good day. Little Bit woke up in a really good mood and did many cute things in the morning. I did the NF mobility challenge workout. The couch stretches are really helping my anterior chain. Dinner was simple yet good. It was baby gold potatoes, a sliced onion, half a sliced red onion, and 1 each red, yellow, and orange bell pepper, each julienned. I added some minced garlic, Italian seasoning, and a jar of marinara sauce. I cooked in the instant pot with the slow cooker function for 8 hours. It was good.

Oh that is awesome! We had something similar for the boys and they were on it as soon as the door opened! Next... a small trampoline with legs that can be shortened ;)

My 2c on the soft drinks: I have it only on days where the mercury hits 37C+, in a glass (500ml) filled half way with ice, or I dilute the cooldrink. Otherwise it is too sweet. But I don't think there is anything like that carbon fizz that seems to cool you off on a hot day.

Glad the migraine was handled and you could function.

Our backyard is small (by American Standards) and a trampoline would take over too much of it.

I never had a trampoline as a kid and I always wanted one. My family couldn't afford it. Then again, I was always scared of falling off and hurting myself. I was extremely cautious as a kid. I outgrew that in my teenage years.
