Hey, everybody *waves*

I'm brand new here and this is my first challenge. It coincides nicely with me buying a FeetUp Trainer for myself, so I'm going to challenge myself to practice inversions every day.

At the beginning, I'll just be making sure to use the stool and do 2 inversions per day, holding around 20-30 seconds. I'll probably check back in with this after a week or so to see if I've progressed enough to add another element to this. There are videos and yoga instructions specific to the stool I have that I might commit to doing a few times a week on top of this, pending how I'm progressing. Also would love to hear if anyone else has a FeetUp Trainer or enjoys inversions in their workout routines!

I think this lines up with the Druids guild(?) but I'm still learning how all of this works, so feel free to call me out if I'm not doing this right. :D

Looking forward to getting started on my first challenge tomorrow! (I actually already did my first inversions yesterday and today, and it's going great.)

Welcome to NF, and congrats on your first challenge! I have not done inversions, but the husband is very interested in them. If you don't mind my asking, are you doing them for a specific health reason, and what "other elements" can be added to inversions? I have zero knowledge on this subject, but it sounds fascinating.

Don't worry too much just yet about what guild your goals line up with. The first challenge is usually done in the "Level 1" guild (link, which also contains other useful info) so you can get a feel for how things work for yourself and what your goals are. That said, several of us do not technically match the specific thrust of our guilds, but stick with them for various reasons. You're doing just fine. :)

Hello and welcome! You’re fine and we are happy you are here. Challenge as you will.

Inversions are super fun. Enjoy! I’m not sure what a Feet Up trainer is, but I do a weekly inversion practice (pincha, aka forearm stands) and have found it to be fun and really beneficial overall. Nothing builds shoulder strength like sneakily making them bear weight!

Hey. welcome to the rebellion!  Not sure what kind of inversions you are doing, but if they lead to handstands I am all for them :)

That's cool your husband is interested! So I started out just thinking it looked cool and just thinking back to my childhood when I loved doing cartwheels and stuff. But I also have chronic neck pain and headaches and the inverted posture can help stretch the spine and relieve tension, which I have found does have some minimal effects for me, which is great! Nothing else really helps, so I'll take anything I can get! I also just love the feeling of being upside down :)

So, other elements would be like a yoga flow using inversions in your practice. This is a really long video, but here is an example of someone using the trainer I have!

And thanks for the link about 1st challenges!

Hi! Welcome to your first challenge! I have no idea what inversions are, but I hope yours go swimmingly :)

They took my barbells away in February, and I'm still moping around the warriors' guild.

Welcome! I don't have a feetup, but I do some inversions in my yoga practice. I was working on them regularly for a while, but I've gotten frustrated because my hamstring/hip flexibility is limiting my ability to get into some of them. I can practice headstand, but just can't seem to get into a forearm stand anymore (without help). Gotta figure out a way to rig something up to assist.

Ah man, I'm sorry about your hamstring/hip! I have never been able to do handstands or similar unassisted (at least not since I was a child), but I wonder if a stool might help you, too? It's been great for me! Good luck to you!

6 days down and I've used FeetUp every day for at least 2 inversions, so a pretty successful start! It's really one of the few things fitness wise I enjoy right now! I need to expand my practice into longer yoga sessions since I'm only doing about 2 minutes with a brief stretch, 2 inversions of 20-30 seconds each, and done. I think next week (week 2) I'll challenge myself to find one longer FeetUp yoga session to follow along on YouTube etc. Hope everybody is doing well!

Well begun is half done, way to go! And good plan for expanding it in the next week, too. Are you noticing a benefit from doing it regularly?

Totally dropped the ball on this. My dog got very seriously ill and has been in the hospital, so it's just been super stressful and crazy. I guess a week complete for my first challenge is better than nothing!

Sorry to hear about your dog. You can try challenging again whenever you're up for it.
