The Playground: General Chat

Welcome to the Playground, a great place to meet new friends and have fun with old ones! 

 

There's every piece of equipment you could imagine, and some you couldn't, so there's plenty to do here.  Head over to the Minichallenge, if you want to learn more about the workouts available.  Or grab a snack and a drink from one of the booths and find a chair or perch to relax and chat while you watch the fun.

Tanktimus walks into the playground and claims a spot next to Ernie. Bert and Ernie was his favorite sketch AMD he always wanted to be buddies with Ernie.

Annyshay gets a big pot of earl grey lavender tea and heads to an unoccupied corner.

Shaar is a little waylaid by the actual playground equipment here - where are the darkened corners? Her bourbon? The fireplace?? - she 'ahem's quietly to herself while perching on a brightly colored fence, yanking a flask from her hip pouch and glancing back and forth more than a few times before pulling out her tablet and going to town typing who knows what on its screen - likely keeping up with her most recent gaming dailies............

Heidi taps @shaar on the shoulder and points to the Reading loft in the corner, the one covered in cozy wool leaf-green carpets,  burlap coffee sacks stuffed with filling to make floor cushions (adult version bean bag chairs). She has pilfered liberated boxes from the storeroom and stacked them to make a tea table. The kettle seems powered by good intentions, and steam rises from a pot nearby. The sounds of frolicking seem to dampen as she enters the loft

Anim wandered over to answer Shaar's puzzled look.  "Don't worry about the new look, all the amenities are still here.  We're giving you the option to try something different, not a mandate.  There are plenty of dark corners and hidden rooms under the equipment, for those who care to look.  Or there are firepits scattered around the sitting area to keep the cold away.  And all of your favorite beverages, adult or not, are available at the concessions.  Try the bourbon chocolate cupcakes if you're feeling adventurous."  With a friendly wave, the assassin disappears.

The bard shoots a bright and appreciative glance to @Heidi and @Anim07734 in kind, and she manages to snag a cupcake in one hand with a delighted sound before hopping up to the comfy loft, settling into the cushions and setting up her tablet to keep her posted on all goings-on while happily eyeing the playground from above and snagging a hot mug of bourbon-laced ginger tea... if she had a tail it would be wagging, but instead she draws her cloak tighter about her shoulders; comfortable.

@Tanktimus the Encourager, did I miss a conversation on guild descriptions?

 

Druids, one and all, are focused on balance. Their movement forms tend to be yoga and T'ai Chi as a way to find the balance within. We meditate and commune with nature often by slowing down and simply walking, and we often focus on small details like clean eating, water consumption, decluttering, rest, and interpersonal communication. Also, if you're looking to break a bad habit, Druids make great allies. 

 

Druid is a mindset: the challenge within.

Where are you seeing the guild description in question?

Mr_Willes stands in the door opening, not knowing where to look. "All the beautiful colors!" He murmurs softly to himself, then he gets a running start and takes off to the piece with the shiniest of colors!

[WolfDreamer]

WolfDreamer enters and is immediately drawn to the bouncy house area. He climbs into the biggest one shaped like a castle and is surprised to find a familiar looking large orange and white dog that stops bouncing long enough to greet him with a nuzzle of its huge muzzle before encouraging WolfDreamer to bounce with it.

Warm greetings and fair skies, fellow challengers!

 

I wanted to swing by and let everyone know I've revitalized the Weight Loss PVP: 10 lbs in 10 Weeks! side quest.  We're weighing in on January 4th, 2021 at the start of the current 5 Week Challenge and it will run until the end of the second 5WC in March (taking an optional break between the two challenges for Zero Week).  That gives us about a week to get our shit together meal prep, fill those water bottles, and carve out a little slice of heaven to call a workout space in time to fire things up.

 

Since we're only tracking pounds and not suggesting exercises of any kind, this could be an excellent (optional) bit of encouragement alongside your current Challenge goals or even the mini-challenge.  It has been a super motivating accountability group in the past so I'm hoping to see lots of eager faces in the New Year!

Darkfoxx grabs a whiskey at concession and heads to a high corner to watch Grover & Oscar from afar, out of the chaos.

Bouncer squeels jumping up and down and the beautiful landscape. At aww by the many choices around the playground, where her Rec and Park brain points out this may better fit a playscape.... Too amazing ro be just for short playtime. 

 

Wanting to see how the world of sesame street and NG world meets. She quickly climbs on a large tire swing, laying face down. Pushes herself to create momentum to fly around the playground on a zipline that flies above, down and under the playground elements. Breaking laws of gravity and safety regulations, where she waves to everyone!

Boy did I apparently pick the wrong challenge to drastically change up my character! 🤣 Oh well, looks fun.

 

The Mandalorian walks in to what she expected to be a dark drinking establishment, and is shocked to find the largest playground she's ever seen. She wanders over to one of the beverage stall, removes her helmet, and gets a chai tea. After downing the tea, she puts her helmet back on and dives head first into the ball pit.
