I am so glad my teeth are really good! I have heard so many horror stories from so many different people. I wish them all the best of luck!

Apparently mine aren’t too bad (especially since I am still trying to make the habit of brushing them). Still some work to do, but I’m grateful that for me braces would be “cosmetic only”, since they’re $10k I’ll take a slightly crooked smile.

I started updating last night but fell asleep before I wrote the update 😂

Friday: a good day

budget yep, on track

workout yep, bonus workout!

Delivery, on track, no delivery ordered, went out for date night

Dry Jan, still on track despite having date night at our favourite pub. I drank a lot of water and one apple juice. Then there was a group of the sign language friends so we joined in with them and I needed my hands so didn’t drink anything else. Oh my gosh so out of practice with sign, it was like getting smacked in the face with a bucket of words. Nice though, and good to get back into it.

I didn't realise you signed! I've been studying because we have a Deaf team member at work, I'm so rusty since I went on mat leave though. Would love to get back into it so I'm not too lost when I go back this year.

It’s a relatively new (or I guess revived) skill I’ve been working on. I took an introductory class last year (wait, no, 2019), which unearthed a bunch of memories from when I took an introductory class when I was about 7. Rona foiled my attempts to take intro2 (zoom is just not the same and not the way I learn this very physical language), but I am hopeful maybe to do an official course this year. I ‘spoke’ with one of the teachers last night and he thinks I know enough to jump right in to cert3.

Saturday: good day

went on a very long walk (it wasn’t meant to be so long, but I got lost 😂), I picked up a cast iron pan and several water bottles (kleen kanteen type) from the neighbourhood gifting group + a snazzy water bottle with an inbuilt citrus squeezy thing. Went to a different grocery store to normal and grabbed some stuff to make beef and mushroom pasta (lazy lasagna), and fancy bread and butter (mmmm, bakery bread).

Workouts: no change, nailed it this week. Might prioritise a stretch session tomorrow morning if I can, one of my shoulders is rather sore from carrying home the cast iron pan.

Budget: did the numbers for groceries and last nights date night, on track but have used pretty much our whole fortnight of date budget yesterday, so I guess cheese and crackers at home will be next weeks date. No wonder we were consistently going over, with both of us drinking.

Delivery food: none, even at DnD, I made lazy lasagna and everyone ate that for dinner.

Dry Jan: still on it!

Sunday: it’s the start of week three already?! A good day. Did a whooooole bunch of laundry and hung most of it on the line and even brought some of it in and folded it! (I’ll bring the rest of it in tomorrow, no promises about the folding bit). Did my Thor workout, even though my shoulder was niggling. Early in the workout it made a crunchy click sound and then felt much better, so I must have slept on it funny. Went to the shops twice because the first shop didn’t have any garlic (???). Was on track with the budget after the first shop... not so much after the second *shakes fist at protein powder, laundry detergent and other spenny items from shop 2*. I also spent some of my pocket money and bought myself an electric toothbrush. I am admittedly a little excited about trying it out this evening [update: it was pretty cool!]. I have now brushed and flossed four days in a row. Maybe I can make it a habit this time...

Workout: yep! Day one of the week and workout one done!

Budget: ouchie. Still technically in the parameters, but I only bought enough food for one week, using almost all of the money for two weeks 😕 might have to get a bit creative next week!

Delivery: nada

Dry Jan: went into the bottle o and got Mr one singular beer, and left without even looking for anything for me.

Thank you, yes it was lovely! I took the rest of th laundry off the line today and brought it up (haven’t folded it yet, but let’s not get ahead of ourselves). Perfect laundry weather, hot and dry with a cool breeze.

you are doing so well, i love reading your updates Yasha !!!!!! xx

Thankyou!!! I definitely feel like I’ve come back up out of my mental slump from earlier in the challenge, but I am still planning to organise a shrink (no reason not to try and find someone I like before I am in a crisis, right?)

Monday: I’m just over here kicking butts.

Worked, boxing’ed, cooked delicious (oh alright, pretty ok) protein muffins and really yummy risotto, both from the Thor app. Had a good, meaningful and adult conversation with Mr while cooking. Good job me.

Workout: yep the yep. Kickboxing. There were too many people in the class and I had to double up on a bag with someone, but they temp checked and asked everyone the normal questions, and there hasn’t been a community transmission in my state for two days, so tried to keep the anxiety down as much as possible. I need to get used to being back around people, it’s weird and I don’t like it. (Though, I’m not sure I ever actually did like it).

Budget: Mr pointed out that I have budgeted for him going to physio twice/week when he is healing well enough that he’s down to once/week. Which is good, because his PT suffered a personal loss and we were able to organise same day delivery of some flowers to try and lift her spirits a little. For someone who has got Mr walking without limping, protecting and strengthening his back in preparation for a lifetime of blacksmithing, it’s the least we could do. Otherwise, no money spent today. Still need to maths it up and update the fridge tracker.

Delivery: nada. I saw Mr on the prowl for snacks so I threw some preventative cucumbers and a hot cross bun at him to stave off the hangry until I got back from boxing and cooked dinner.

Oh and I got my Fitbit buzz for getting my steps as I hauled my bum back out of bed to go brush my teeth. This is how habits happen, right?

Love this intro and loving everything about this update! Great work. Keep smashing it!

Also, I've been loving the laundry drying weather - and also that my tiny house is not covered in clothes horses!

Yes! Though now my house has baskets of clean laundry scattered about waiting folding... ah well, at least it’s not baskets of dirty clothes

Tuesday: is it just me, or does it feel like a Friday? Hmmm, a pretty good day on the books, with a little sting in the middle.

Stood on the judgement machine and I’ve lost 400g - that’s as much as a tin of tomatoes! Worked from home again today (ah, it’s so much my preference), had some trades people come to fix the toilet seat, the bathroom tap and the kitchen tap, then I had the gym in lunch, did a good set of lifts and felt strong and like I had good form. Personal trainer got a snap of the perfect lifting face on my 90kg one rep hahaha. The “meh” bit was got a message from customs and one of Mr’s computer parts is delayed and we have to pay $300 to get it through customs. Really frustrating! Haven’t paid it yet, will have to add it to the credit card and pay it off. Means Mr is still using my laptop too for at least a while longer. Also ate some yummy protein muffins for brekkie.

Budget: I spent $8 on magnesium that I haven’t added to the spreadsheet... +the customs shenanigans grrr

Workout: yep! I even wrote down what I did to compare later in the year!

Huh, don’t know what happened to Wednesday’s update... Day was fine, worked out with Thor app (selfie attached), wfh, don’t think I spent any money (though I did decide to do a permaculture certificate that I’ve been thinking about for years so that will be a fair chunk of change, but also I have a career progression sinking fund which it will come out of because eventually it is something that I would love to live and teach).

Thursday: all day First Aid refresher training. No workout unless you count 2min of CPR twice (once on adult, once on baby). Mentally I am exhausted, unsure if it was from the learning (doubt, most of it was rehashing things I already know) or if it was from being around people (and strangers at that) all day. I took my morning tea and lunch breaks away from the group, but still I am knackered.
Workout: only cpr

Budget: spent $5 on a coffee from my pocket money.

Delivery: nope. I forgot a spoon, so I didn’t have lunch (only my snacks), so I messaged Mr while I was on the train home and he made me a cheese toastie coz I knew I would be starving by the time I got home. Toastie helped and I’ve just had some weetbix before I go to bed.

Dry Jan: yep, still tracking. I did have a little cry tonight (baby cpr always gets me), but no drink.

Friday. Worked from in the office. Bus on the way in way fine. Was feeling very tired, so at lunch took a nap under this lovely tree. Bus home in the arvo gave me very bad carskiness and I’ve been laying down ever since. Ordered delivery, didn’t work out, spent pocket money that I wanted to save. Eh.
