TiogaGirl Posted January 10 Report Share Posted January 10 Hi gang, [checks calendar] wooooooooo we are in double digit streak mode!! WTG! This is actually my 6 week mark as dry January could not come soon enough. But the first week was absolutely the toughest. Now I’m just happy to be facing down the world’s drama with a clear head and buoyed by a good night of sleep. I feel like with a good night’s sleep and a clear conscience, I can do most anything and do it in style and with a sassy attitude. By contrast when I’ve had a lousy night’s sleep (or none at all) I’m just a trash pile. How’s everyone doing? 4 Quote Link to post

Harriet Posted January 11 Report Share Posted January 11 There were a couple of days when I really wanted a glass of wine. But I found a place that sells fancy craft beers (beers... but special???) and they have an alcohol-free selection. I am looking forward to drinking a variety of non-intoxicating fizzy bitter grain drinks. 3 Quote Let cheese and bread and mead crowd out our secret desires for power and domination. Link to post

Yasha92 Posted January 12 Report Share Posted January 12 Whaaaat??? Somehow I stopped following this thread??? *prods at settings* I am back (didn’t realise I’d left) though! What say ye, friends: Mr was drinking a glass of wine and said “does this taste funny?” and I stuck my tongue in it. Have I ruined my streak??? 1 Quote Mini | | Jan 16 || Feb 16 || Mar 16 || April 16 || July-Aug 16 || Aug-Sep 16 . || Sep-Oct 16 || Oct-Nov 16 || Dec 16 || Jan 17 || March 17 || April 17 || May 17 || August 17 || Sep 17 || Oct 17 || Grind it out || Jan 18 || Feb 18 || April 18 || May June 18 || Nov 18 || Oct 19 || Early 2020 Current Challenge: Halfway thru 2020 Link to post

I'm actually not that much of a pub go-er. No the following was on my mind. A fellow Rebel here let me knew he was researching stuff for a new computer. I helped him out ballparking with it would cost him. And told him if he would like we could "online shop together" during an online zoom or meet call cause i have been building computers for (god i'm old) decades! Perfect idea, grab a few beers, vritually hang out with another rebel have a good time talking computer stuff and drinking a beer. Very good! Solid plan! A few minutes later i was like, oow hope he don't have time in January and we can postpone this to February. That's what i meant accompanying a drink with a rare social interaction. That's why i'm probably gonna continue my dry January into February with a few modifications. 1 1 2 Quote ... a little odd in the head ... Yeah a lot of mine has been social-involved too, I'm glad we have no more "socially distanced holiday gatherings" at all 'cause that's always a killer. It's one thing stopping myself from buying my own stuff, but when you're with others and it's already prevalent....... Guys we are almost halfway through January!!!! TiogaGirl Posted January 17 Report Share Posted January 17 I am still grooving on Dry Jan. Yesterday was my 7 week mark, making today day 50 🤩 Waking up feeling good most every day is hard to beat. I’m still not sure why this goal is coming relatively easily this time, whereas over in the weight loss PVP I’m doing [whatever is the opposite of killin’ it]. Anyway, so glad to have excellent nerd company along the way! 3 2 Quote Link to post

Yasha92 Posted January 17 Report Share Posted January 17 Still all good in this hood too! Aquarii Posted January 18 Report Share Posted January 18 Still staying strong here. Last night I was sooooo tempted to cheat on this challenge, because my brother was visiting and he and my husband were drinking. But, I stuck to my guns. Endor Posted January 18 Report Share Posted January 18 How'd I miss this thread?! 17 days done, sleeping way better, not waking up feeling anxious and not having to get up to wee halfway through the night are all big benefits so far. I've also dropped 4.5kg which is pleasing. Way less bloated too and my skin feels/looks better. Some days I crave a beer hard, there are definitely triggers as well...like after physical work on a hot day or after breathing air. 5 2 1 Quote Endor, LVL 40 Half-Elf Ranger PR and Motivation Log | Current Battle Log Current Challenge (Jan 2021) Link to post

So i would like to know from you (and with "you" i mean in here): FEB 1st is a monday I think for me personally, nothing much is gonna change on that specific date, and for the rest of the month i want to keep it somewhat strict but not as strict as January. Also because i'm actually cruising through Drynuary pretty effortlessly. Only when a social event arises, where others are also drinking, i will have a few drinks. I don't usually overdrink much, and with the whole social restrictions with COVID i doubt anything of that magnitude will pop up. I'm guesstimating around 2-3-ish occasions for February... And i'm okay with that! Edit: Ooow yeah, still going strong for January! 3 Quote ... a little odd in the head ... Assgined to the following Adventuring-Parties: DryJanuary WeightLossPvP Link to post
