I'm kinda hoping if I stop taking sugar as an energy replacement then my body will make it's own natural energy... through... magic...? IDK. I just fear caffeine and sugar are stealing energy from the future rather than making greater amounts of energy in total. 31 minutes ago, fearless 2.0 said: like Millet! great woman! You read Millet??? Details please 😃 I'm trying to teach myself feminist history but there's sooo much to look at and I'm working so slowly because I'm always tired. There are some treasures (like in de Beauvoir) and some really awful stuff (in Firestone). It's always interesting, though. 1 Quote Let cheese and oxen and mead crowd out our secret desires for power and domination - Harriet the Viking Just be bold, fluid and unapologetic, not small, hairy and indecisive - Harriet the Artist You can absorb me! - Harriet the Contextless Guru Link to comment

Mike Wazowski
Soooo I’m assuming by an Easter egg you mean a candy one? Harriet
Monday Writ: I report Warcraft: tried to do yoga but computer crashed then I had to get ready for embassy appointment. walked 1 hour Weaving: no, was tired after embassy Witchery: meditation Willowy: I had a 20g nougat/chocolate eater egg. Down to one caffeinated tea as of today. So, I had to do an adult thing. I anxiously and obsessively checked my route, the timing, my documents, and showed up thirty minutes early then walked around to make sure I arrived exactly ten minutes early. Then I panicked when they had no record of my appointment, and checked my email to realise the appointment is next Monday, and my anxiety had simply transplanted it to today. But this is the Australian embassy, not the Ausländerbehörde. No eyes were rolled, no eyebrows drawn contemptuously, no long-suffering sights were heaved as though my stupidity were a painful burden to some sadistic bureaucrat whose coffee went cold fifty years ago and who has never experienced warmth since then. No. The guard let me in "I don't like to turn anyone away" and the passport officer renewed my passport anyway, friendly as can be. I am painfully tired this afternoon. I got in 10 000 steps, though. I realised I could make my phone track steps, and started doing it a few days ago. Interestingly, the one hour walk is about 7000 steps, and I wasn't getting much more than that for the whole day--maybe 8000 total. So one long walk wasn't really offsetting how sedentary I am the rest of the time. But just plodding around the apartment in circles like a decaffeinated hamster while I wait for tea to brew is 500 steps. I want to move around a little more during non exercise times to see if it gives me a mental/energy boost and to get the recommended 10 000 each day. And I also thought a five minute hamster walk might help me to feel less groggy before lifting workouts. After all, I used to walk to the gym. 5 Quote Let cheese and oxen and mead crowd out our secret desires for power and domination - Harriet the Viking Just be bold, fluid and unapologetic, not small, hairy and indecisive - Harriet the Artist You can absorb me! - Harriet the Contextless Guru Link to comment
fearless 2.0
yay to getting the passport done! I am very anxious when it comes to bureaucratic stuff and can totally relate to you being nervous. Also: we are in a pandemic and its awesome to get 8000 steps in when the outside world is almost completely closed to us. You are doing better than you think. Willowy: the neurotic food-hoarding behaviour and ravening hunger of earlier times is gone and I am finding calorie counting easy and effective 😮 A few days ago Mr Harriet told me not to buy new clothes because I might get smaller... and despite the weight going down on the scales it just did. not. compute. Today my jeans are a bit loose. Probably just stretched out from wearing. Not sure I really truly believe I'm going to get thinner. If you don't want to do a second walk, I'd consider trying to add in a bit of misc movement instead of aimlessly puttering around the house to get more steps in. While walking is amazing, the 10000 steps is not based in any science, it's just a random number that sounds good. Instead you could do a stretch, or a few push-ups, or swing a sword, or whatever random movement you feel like. Nothing strenuous, just random movements here and there to boost your heart rate. Moving moar parts of your body == moar better! And if you really want to get in that arbitrary number of steps, you could always aim for a weekly 70000 goal since sometimes you do two walks. Just my 2c. 🙂 1 Quote Link to comment
