HAPPY FRIENDS DAY! (In Finland valentine's is about celebrating friends 😍)

I went climbing for I believe the THIRD time this week. 🤯 Yay! I casually did the blue I was fighting with last time, turns out that I really was just tired. And I started to play on climbs a grade higher, which is exciting. Mostly because it gives me more options, I'm not expecting to be able to climb them anytime soon (at least not on a regular basis), but it's funnn!

 Make a plan

Art - sort of, I watched a process video

 Eat

 Climb

 Eat

Make plan for the week => ☑️ Doodled for a bit. I didn't have any ideas* so I scribbled a very rough still life of my spirally succulent (don't know what it's called)

*I have lost/suppressed the ideas part of me again. 😭 But I've been through this once already, and if I could find it again after a many, many year hiatus it means it's only an access issue.

I forget, I ignore my reminders, I get distracted, I procrastinate, my schedule is too open and somehow it makes it more difficult to plan, choosing tasks is hard,

Just dropping in and read the turmoil of your first post. I get this so hard and I feel for you! I haven't caught up on your journey yet, but I hope you're getting some footing ❤️ I think one of the best things to keep in mind here is just self forgiveness and the permission to start again ❤️❤️❤️ You go girl!

This is so much better than it being about just your partner 😃. Do you have different traditions as well?

I love your plant doodle, it really reminds me of a potted plant I once had. That one didn't have so many eyes though .

Nope, purely a commercial import. But I got candy at the climbing gym, so can't complain too much. 😄

Are you sure? They are only visible  right when the mother is nurturing her offspring.

Turmoil is indeed a good description. Btw thanks for reminding me what I wrote, because I'm already getting off track. 😄 Maybe I should start printing out my challenges. 🤔

Self forgiveness is a WIP, but I'm the frickin' master of starting again. It's all I do. 😅

Thank you!!! ❤️🤗

Not the best of days. Oh right, it's Monday. What a coincidence. 😉

☑️ Work. Started too early. Then got distracted by trying to understand a mystery problem. All day.

☑️ Walk to the coffee shop in the sunset, it was immensely pretty! 🤩

Make a plan + breakfast and coffee (at around 5 pm...oops)

Buy groceries

 Eat

☑️ A few minutes of kitchen tidying - trying to keep the chaos at bay now that it's under control

Chill

Extremely non ambitious plan, but I'm also very tired and bored and weird. Not to mention that my body is sooooore, might've overdone it a wee bit yesterday. 😅

Hey! I had a loot of catching up to do, I think it was almost 9 full pages! whoa.

Very happy to see that you've gone from just managing basic hygiene to making some art and doing the things and climbing three times in a week and quite a lot of household tasks ❤️

Other things that stuck with me;

- purposely 'ruining' your new drawing book with a doodle, I remember all of us talking about this a long time ago :) anti perfectionism victory o/

- embracing your positive enthusiasm/curiosity traits ❤️ learning to channel them productively will be the stuff of legends.

- I am sorry about your latest therapy experience. I have to second the idea that it's probably best to keep exploring this while you're not in immediate need of it. Also I might join you in finding a good one but I might not because it sucks eh. If I do find a good one, I don't think I could recommend this person because you'll need a Finnish one for insurance reasons?

Your POH might help you there. I've had a few good ones, but those don't operate in the region anymore. I've also had the experience of seeing a good psychologist I hadn't a click with, and someone I had a good click with, and it really makes a difference. I heard that the waiting lists can be brutal, so it's better to be a bit too early than too late at the moment.

My Wednesday plans are usually not that much more ambitious  (although work isn't even at the Wednesday list at all).

Excellent. Every successful writer and artist I have read about says that the important thing is not inspiration, but showing up day after day. Uh... I guess that means I should show up, too. Hmmmm. 😕

I can't believe you just skipped out of work for no good reason.  Your inefficiency is costing your company's shareholders money!!!! :P

Those pics are amazing, I am a little bit jealous (but only a little, because I realize the tradeoff there is having to deal with the cold, which I am not about).

As for the IG combo you posted, I was super impressed until I realized she had knee pads on. ;)

Inspiration is like motivation that way...? That actually makes sense.

This is what I don't get, why bother getting on a waiting list, when I don't have a clue if I'm going to click with the person? It seems like the worst deal, wait for n months until I feel bad again, then find out that the person is only going to make things worse.

It's not a bad plan! But it does get boring if it happens too often.

OH NO! Poor shareholders! 😫

...

Oh well. That's what happens when they're a cheapskate company, who don't share any of their profits. 🤷‍♀️ Zero fucks given.

I wouldn't recommend living in a cold place. But I would recommend visiting someplace like Lapland, because it really is spectacularly gorgeous!

Hmmm, I sense you want to be challenged on this one. 😉 SHOW ME WHAT YOU GOT! 😄

(Also I can't quite tell, but I think they're actually flimsy pole style knee pads, not hard plastic ones.)

I see it a little differently. Inspiration usually comes at inconvenient times when you're in a relaxed state doing something else, like walking, or showering, or for me, right before falling asleep. That's the time for collecting ideas, because when it's time to face the blank page inspiration will inevitably be off somewhere else... Though admittedly doodling can sometimes trigger that relaxed state too, in which case it is true that showing up can trigger inspiration. But for me it's so far been much easier to start when I already have something in mind.

Yesterday I was really tired after much braining at work.

Today I’m also really tired. First I stuffed my face on too many peanuts because I forgot to eat in the morning. I still feel queasy. 🤦‍♀️

Second I went for a walk, but I wasn’t dressed at all for -15C. Ultra thin pants, no layers, no gloves (I lost them a few weeks back). It was warm yesterday and for some unknown reason I expected it to be just as warm today. Despite having been outside earlier... Ah sometimes I marvel at my logic. (And no of course I didn’t go back in to change, that’d just be silly) Now I’m still tired and cold and have no intention of doing anything that doesn’t involve my duvet.

It was pretty though.

Yes, every day. Twice. After he was murdered by a truck driver, Stephen King got up on his leg (which had been shattered into 47 pieces) and wrote a chapter for his next novel the very same day.*

*heavily exaggerated for narrative purpose

But seriously. I would like to write and paint every weekday, because it gives me purpose. But you definitely don't have to if it's not your main thing.

To be fair, for Stephen King and other professional writers, writing every day is their full-time job. For those of us who have one of those in a different field, I would expect the requirements to be adjusted to accommodate that. :)

Agreed! It's even worse if you get your hopes up and you won't have a click.

Soft cover, I'll have to remember that.

Maybe a brilliant one would be worth paying out of pocket just to avoid the hassle of waiting lists and not being sure if they're worth it or not. Considering the same thing for myself now. The insurance covered ones all have waiting lists and they too often suck. It's almost as if all the really good people decided to work outside of insurance coverage.
