This week's goals

weed 2 garden beds

 pick out flooring for bedroom

water garden

divide dahlias

uncover veggie garden

buy veggie starts

boss battle  for level 6

buy water bottles

Also random thoughts; I've been working on L-sits and sort of cartwheels. But, Steve sent out a email and tutorial on handstands. Plus, I have the NF handstand tutorial and I kind of want to do those. And now that it's nice weather, I want to get back to my staff.

Sounded like a good vacation!

What's involved in the level 6 boss battle?

I'm not sure. It isn't revealed until that day. It will be something to do with what I've been doing .But a few of the exercises (muscle ups ) I've been doing at an easier progression. Until I see how hard it is, I have no idea if I can beat it. I can see how some people like this feature, but I'm a planner and so I don't really like that I can't see until the day of.

ooooh I didn't know that. I think I would HATE it if I were a participant. But as a spectator on your thread, it's kind of fun 😉

Yesterday:

I did great with my morning, mainly because I had somewhere to go. Met with my friends and went for a walk. It was lovely, sweet conversation, and warm sunshine. We walked 5 miles. Then I came home and did my workout. Later in the day though, I was super tired. A combination of allergies, the fact that I'd lost sleep because I sleep horribly in hotels,  eating at a deficit, and a walk + workout. I decided to have a snack, which helped somewhat. Went to bed at a good time, and slept in, so I felt better . I did eat about 100 over my goal, but then I walked 5 brisk miles, so it probably works out.

Today:

Slept in. A little slow on the morning, but not bad. Since Monday I felt like I overdid it on exercise, I decided to dial it down. I did do a rowing session. It was 10 minutes, but it was sprinting intervals , so intense , but short.   Then I  did some light yard work, mostly weeding. I did transplant a plant. My lavender plant is mostly dead. I planted it in the spot where my husband pulled out the stump. It should get more sun ,and rain there. Hopefully,  that will revive it. Right now it sort of looks like Charlie Brown's Christmas tree. Hubby and I went on a walk after dinner. I have about 11,000 steps. I'm tired right now  ,but a good tired, not the overdid it kind. I tracked my food. I went over by about 50 calories, but I may have a snack and go over more.

I think the idea is that it is like a video game, where you don't know exactly what to expect. It did appear today, so I know now what the challenge is. But they don't tell you what you need to win. You put in the amount of reps that you did, and they tell you if you won the battle (I hate that set up)

So tomorrow's challenge

assisted dips

chin ups

one leg lunge

knees to elbows (I don't remember actually doing this in the workouts, it seems kind of random. But I think I can do several)

Sounds like a terrible video game! :D

One leg lunge - is that like the shrimp squat where you don't grab your foot?

Good luck on the battle!

Thanks! I beat it today! Yes, that's how I'm doing the lunge. It's number 6 in this progressionhttp://www.startbodyweight.com/p/squat-progression.html

My morning was good. Started off with Zoom prayer group. After we finished, I had a banana for snack, took about a 10 minute break, and then did my workout. As I said above,  I beat the boss battle! The idea of going against a boss battle is fun. Some of the exercises seem a bit random- I had never done a knee to elbow before, so it seems weird to have it as a boss battle. I was able to do it, but they are hard! Then I did some work for the L-sit. I thought about doing handstand work, but decided I was tired, and it was nice weather so I wanted to go for a long walk, so I decided to save my time and energy for that.

Yesterday and today, I sat out on the deck and read a bit. We've been having unseasonably warm weather, so I want to take advantage of it while we have it.

Now I am done with Level 6 . On the app, they don't have a level 7. The course website has a level 7. It looks really hard though. Not sure what I am going to do next. I could do level 7, or I might do some kettlebell work, or some combo work with bodyweight and kettlebell. For the rest of the challenge, I am just going to do skill work. I wanted to work on handstands and L-sit, so not doing a program will give me that time. If  I enjoy that, I may do that through next challenge to. We shall see.

Today I did  the handstand course work, the L-sit work and then the NF movement(which was 3 sets of 10 reps pushups, step ups, rows) I was really pretty wiped by the end. I signed up for the NF movement because it was a group challenge, and mystery which was fun. But I'm finding it really hard to schedule for. Sometimes it 's just one movement, sometimes, it's a whole workout.  I've skipped the whole workout one before, but thought since I didn't have a workout I would do it today. Which was fine, but I don't think I will again. I'll do their movement snacks, but not the ones with the whole workout, or I will take it down to a much easier progression.

I did level 7 from the handstand course.I had worked up to that level before when I worked on it. I found it pretty easy. Next time  I will see if I can complete the objectives to complete the level.

Weekend adventures:

Friday evening we ate out. I didn't track it in MFP, because it would have been a hassle. I did a good job of eating less during the day so I had more in my calorie budget in the evening. We ate Cuban food. I had Rope Vieja(yum)  It was nice weather, so we had a picnic in the park. I ate slowly, enjoying the food. I ate all the meat, but not all the rice, as I was full. Then we went for a walk on the trail.

Saturday: Did a rowing workout. We went amd did some errands, including buying new flooring to lay down in our guest bedroom (laminate, fake wood flooring)  Didn't do a good job on food. It was one of those days where we were dashing here and there, and I kept grabbing snacks, and  I knew we were having game night, so I wanted to eat less during the day, but always felt hungry, and kept eating. Had  people over for game night .We had flank steak, rice, stir fry veggies. I did good on portion control. Then for dessert I had some of a dark chocolate bar, but kept it to a small portion. We won the game- for this month, we are playing Pandemic Legacy season 3.

Sunday_ A good day. Church in the morning. Lots of visiting with people outside after church. My son came over after church. We barbecued salmon, had asparagus oven roasted with bacon, and rice (I made extra the night before) brownies for dessert. I ate 3, which was more than my plan. I sent most of the brownies home with my son. We just have two, so hubby and I can each have one. Went for a walk in the evening.

All the food sounds wonderful, as does a picnic in the park. I have those always hungry days too, but happily not every day.

I love picnic. I was frustrated with how much I ate, but thinking about it, I really haven't had many of those days. I've had more days where I've delayed, and the hunger went away. Or ate something healthy that was about 100 calories and then be satisfied. I just struggle with eating and the out of routineness of the weekend.

Spells:

Reducto

5 days tracking( Friday and Saturday were each half days, Sunday I skipped)

Reenverate:

set a timer for mornings, get going on mornings

Even on mornings I do this , I forget to track it. I tried to set up a system for stickers but I can't remember. I know I struggled this week But I think I did two days. Oof.  Honestly don't feel like I'm making progress on this goal.

Expecto Patronum;

Goals for week

weed 2 garden beds

 pick out flooring for bedroom

water garden

divide dahlias

uncover veggie garden

buy veggie starts _ purposely decided to work more on weeding and delay this

boss battle  for level 6

buy water bottles

A little over 50% done .25  wisdom reward

Thoughts;

Overall  pretty good on food tracking. Struggled a bit on the weekend, but also made good choices.

Did well on week goals. Mornings, like I said, still struggling. My plan is to just keep at it as a goal and hope to improve.

Next week goals

divide Dahlias

make reservation for hubby's bday dinner

buy gift (ugh, he's given me no ideas and I have none and why is this so hard)

buy water bottles

weed big bed

outdoor patio plants care

paint ceiling trim

I think all those days where you delay are good practice. And one picnic is worth it.

Today:

Slept in, and then was super slow getting going. I tracked food, sorta. I made pizza, and I nibbled more on stuff , and didn't count that. Ok, decided to fix it  bit, went in and added some calories to MFP. That way,  I can look back and get a more accurate count.

Weighed myself today. Down just a bit. I was 126.8. I was bouncing all around 126 this week, so I think I am close to just getting there. I'm going to try and be a solid 126 by challenge end. That will give me a  3 pound loss over 6 weeks, which is decent.

Today's workout.I did L-sit work and handstand. Took video of my L-sit and leg raise.  My L-sit form is improving. I still bend my leg slightly. Not sure why, I have a problem locking out my arms or legs when I am supposed to. Did a video for my standing leg raise. I did great at not leaning back, and raised my leg higher.  I levelled up to the next level for handstands. I was able to do two  15 second pike feet holds on a 20" stool, and hold a full hollow hold for 20 seconds. The crow hold was for 5 seconds, which I was able to do a while ago.  My story on handstands; I was really into them for a while, and got so I could hold a handstand against the wall for 60 seconds. Then I tried to learn the kick up. I tried for several months, got frustrated, and quit working on handstands. Now, I'm ready to try again. NF has a nice set up, where you work on the skills in small increments.  Some of the stuff I am working on now, is stuff I used to be able to do, but need to brush up. Doing them again will give me a chance to improve my form. And  I should be able to level up fairly quickly, which is a nice confidence booster. There are several levels for the kickups, you start low, and then go medium, and then high. So , hopefully, I won't get as frustrated.

Also went for a walk, and am now going to go for a short walk in the evening. Mr. Incredible is too tired to go with me. He ripped out part of our carpet in the guest room, to get it ready to lay the new  "wood" floor

Many moons ago I loved handstands. Learning the kick up was tough. The first time I did it it actually started with a full on handstand! I think its something with worrying about hitting the wall that makes it harder to do. Great job keeping at it. Your videos/pictures of form are a great idea to keep progressing!
