Asha Phoenix
I'm starting to get the feeling that, at least for now, my challenges will come in essentially two parts. One part being one 5-week challenge, and the other part including the same goals, maybe slightly modified, during another 5-week challenge. I'm excited to add some new goals, and also try to see some consistency (since that seems to be the theme of the mini-challenge this time around) with some old ones. I've titled this one A New Chapter because I will be starting one part way through this challenge. I get to marry the love of my life part way through May, and begin life with him. I'm looking forward to what life will look like together with him and the memories we'll get to share as a married couple. Having said that, the remaining final details of planning the wedding have become more and more stressful as the wedding day approaches 😂😅, so making time for my goals on the days leading up to the wedding might be a tad challenging and stressful for me. So, we'll just see how things go! 📖A New Chapter📖 Vitamins (V) - As with my last couple challenges, I would like to be more consistent with taking my vitamins every day. There are some general ones, but also stuff that I take to help with my stomach and my mental health that I really shouldn't miss (but I sometimes do cause I get busy and forget......) Reading (R) - My goal with this would be to read at least a little bit every day. Whether that means reading a physical copy of a book when I have the ability to, or listening to an audio book while I'm working on other things. > I'd really like to be able to finish reading the Silmarillion by the end of this challenge. I've had it for around, if not over, a year by now and would really like to be able to get it back to my friend. >> The books I'm currently in the middle of at the beginning of this challenge are: *The Silmarillion by J.R.R. Tolkien *The Rising: Antichrist is born by Tim Haye & Jerry B. Jenkins Language (L) - For years now (probably since at least High School, if not earlier) I've wanted to learn another language. Spanish is one I'd like to start with, and then just see where things go from there. I've tried multiple times to start and learn, but haven't stuck with it. My goal this challenge is to spend at least 5 minutes/day working on my vocabulary and learning Spanish Water (W) - Again, I bring another goal from previous challenges. I've still not been as consistent with my water intake as I'd like to be. I'd like my intake to be at least 71 oz/day. I think this time around, instead of just saying if I hit that or not, I'd like to actually write down how much I actually drank that day. (I probably won't include coffee in my water intake unless I drink it black). ------------------- Looking forward to seeing how this challenge goes, and how my Zero Week compares to the rest of the weeks ('cause typically I've noticed I tend to do better on Zero Week....😅) 2 Quote Sunrunner | LVL 4* 153/195 (78%) “It was difficult to think about worshiping God when so many things were going wrong. Asha Phoenix
Zero week went decently well (which I kind of expected). So I'm hoping the rest of this challenge goes as well as this week did. I trained someone to take over one of my jobs for me while I'm not able to be there over the summer, and I'm looking forward to my last day of work this week. (At least for a while, maybe forever there depending on how things go....) Spoiler Stress levels have still been through the roof, and trying to figure out how to work my varying work schedules around each other, plus wedding stuff, has not really helped my stress levels.... So here's to drinking coffee late at night hoping it won't hurt my anxiety levels any....🤦♀️ And due to some of my past coming into my present (and my current lack of taking my vitamins and other pills....oops), my depression and all that comes with it has started to get worse... Asha Phoenix
This week went as I thought it would.... not as great as Zero Week Week One: May 9-15 V - I haven't taken my vitamins in like, 2-3 weeks...... which isn't a good thing. I can feel the difference in my body (and also with my emotions/depression..... 😕) I'm hoping to do better soon, but don't expect to next week since it's really busy and I'm not sure if I'll get a chance to count them out at all (which usually helps me stay on top of them.....) idk. maybe I'll convince myself to count them out when I'm done posting this... 🤷♀️ R - I think I only missed 1 or 2 days. I finished the audio book I had started at the beginning of this challenge. Still working on the Silmarillion (which I plan to take on the honeymoon ). I've decided I won't let myself borrow anymore audio books until I've finished the Silmarillion since I've been using free time to finish audio books instead of actually sitting and reading the book that I need to finish. L - I missed three days this week. The first day I missed, I must have been super tired that day, cause I didn't even realize I had missed it till I went to practice the next night and was like "oh, I missed last night.....Guess I'll try again next week...." And then I was on the road most of the weekend, so I missed another day.... But 4/7 days isn't bad. W - ......Aaaand the water...... lol Sunday: 71 oz Monday: 71 oz Tuesday: 56 oz Wednesday: 56 oz Thursday: 71 oz Friday: (kinda guessed on this one) 56 oz Saturday: (also guessed on this one....forgot to track my water this day) 24 oz Total: 3/7 days that I hit the goal. 2 days I got decently close. ______________________________________________ I'm not terribly upset with how this week went, but I'm honestly not expecting much better next week, except maybe with my vitamins. Heading into wedding week and things are going to be crazy busy leading up to the weekend! But I'm SO excited to be able to marry my best friend! (wanted a gif and realized I already used the Cinderella one, so found a fun one. lol) Quote Sunrunner | LVL 4* 153/195 (78%) “It was difficult to think about worshiping God when so many things were going wrong. Asha Phoenix
A half update.... With last week being wedding week, and this week being the honeymoon, I didn't track ANYTHING the past two weeks..... I would have kept track of things probably at least a little bit if I hadn't forgotten my notebook that I've been using to track stuff back at home. I know that I didn't take my vitamins, but I got at least 32 oz of water in me every day this week (I know I need more, but the water where we were didn't taste the best....). I also decided to restart my language learning, so I went into the app and reset it so that I could have a fresh start and feel like I actually know something. lol [I also wanted to go about things differently with my learning and wanted to be able to write down phrases and words as I learned them and didn't feel like going back through and try to figure out which ones I had learned and which ones were "new".] All this to say, I am going to try to make sure I actually track things and hopefully do better with everything else this coming week I hope everyone has a great weekend and enjoy your Memorial Day. Don't forget those who have given their lives to serve this country and give you freedom. (And those still grieving their loss) Thank you to those of you out there that serve/have served this country ❤️ Quote Sunrunner | LVL 4* 153/195 (78%) “It was difficult to think about worshiping God when so many things were going wrong. Asha Phoenix
I know this is about a week late, but better late than never, right!? Week 4: May 30-June 5 V - No vitamins were taken this week. Up until the end of this week I had really been slacking on them R - I only read one day this week....but I'm not expecting to have much time to actually sit and read except maybe on the weekends. L - [5/7] I'd say I did decently well with language learning this week. The trouble I have right now is making time during my day to sit and learn. This summer will be busy for me, so we'll see how this goes. W - I think I did pretty good with water this week. I can't complain Sunday: 71 oz Monday: 71 oz Tuesday: 40 oz Wednesday: 56.2 oz (idk....lol. the app I have apparently gives decimal points even though I log it in whole numbers.... 🤷♀️) Thursday: 52.2 oz Friday: 44.2 oz Saturday: 56.2 oz _____________________________ Looking forward to updating the following week (this current week), and finishing out this challenge. Tbh, it's honestly felt SOOOOO long this time around and I don't know if it's because I've gotten super busy, or just because it's summer time and my brain just wants to let things be and not keep track of stuff. lol Quote Sunrunner | LVL 4* 153/195 (78%) “It was difficult to think about worshiping God when so many things were going wrong. Asha Phoenix
Final week: June 6-12 V - [6/7] I've done really well with vitamins this week. Counting them out at the beginning of the week and also having someone else that is taking them at the same time I am has helped quite a bit. R - Outside of policies and schedules for summer camp, and maybe social media....lol, I didn't really read this week. I'm hoping that as my schedule starts into more of an actual routine that I'll find/take the time to read. L - [2/7] As with reading, having a new schedule that I'm getting used to has made finding/having time to learn a new language difficult, but not impossible. So I'm hoping to do better with this one as well in the future. W - I did pretty well with water this week I think. Being outside in the hot sun probably helped a lot with that, as I'm sure it will the rest of the summer, at least that's my hope. lol * = Hit goal that day Sunday: 56 oz *Monday: 71 oz *Tuesday: 96 oz *Wednesday: 71 oz Thursday: 56.4 oz *Friday: 87 oz *Saturday: 71 oz _________________________________ Part of me is glad that the challenge is over, mainly because it means a new challenge to start. Most (probably all) of my goals will me the same, so that will probably be helpful with starting into a busy summer. Looking forward to the next challenge and ready to see what this next Zero Week has to bring.
