I did a final push before vacation to start off in a good place.  Total loss so far is 1.8 so it's averaging out close enough.  I'm hoping all the walking on vacation will counteract the vacation food. But we have rooms with kitchens or st least fridges so I can at least start each day with something healthy.

Ooooh vacation! Have fun!!!

Ah, I've been in the rut of watching the scale trend downwards during the week only to rise alarmingly over the weekend.  I need to get my weekends back on track.  My slow weight loss was reversed in a single weekend.

Back to it.

You probably know this, but a sudden spike in weight is probably largely water, eg if you ate salty food. But yeah, it’s good to get weekends dialed in so you aren’t undoing all the hard won gains (losses) of the workweek!

Speaking of water weight gains, I had just that happen for this latest weigh in. I'm not concerned and am actually relieved that the scale only went up 1.1 pounds considering my ankle sprain on Wednesday and the sodium laden/didn't track calories holiday weekend I had. I'm back to tracking today and hope to see some downward movement at next week's scale reading.

My sprain sucks, lemme tell you. I'm trying not to feel guilty about being unable to do my favorite workouts. I'm simultaneously trying to motivate myself to do seated exercises apart from gentle ankle stretches, haha. Funny how the mind works. I'm just going to focus on keeping my calories in weight loss range and getting to the pool to do some gentle walks in the shallow end.

After the quick drop of the first two weeks I'm not surprised to go back up a bit, especially since last week was a bit rough. I stayed mostly on track, but it was not the greatest and I went out to eat a couple of times. I'm still well on track, just need to keep at it

Tomorrow and all next week I’ll be away from the scale, so weighed in a day early. 151.9, up 0.1 from last week. That’s okay. I have big plans for the upcoming week*

*where ‘big plans’ = lots of time sitting on the dock, paddling the canoe, picking berries, napping in the hammock, and hearing the loons at the cottage.

Weight has been responding nicely, this week’s stall notwithstanding. This will be my first time away from the usual routine, bodyweight and food scales, and so forth since starting the challenge, so I”m excited to see how it goes! Would LOVE to come back with a peek into 140s territory.

This week I stayed in the 67 range all week including the weekend.

I have one week until the start of my holidays.  I'd love to at least see a 66kg at some stage this week.

Week one of my holidays is visiting friends which may result in some less desirable food choices, but they are pretty health type so maybe not.  Then I'm off hiking for 4 weeks and planning on eating normal backpacking food with further consideration.

July 1  I started to weigh in daily, bright side I never have gone above 280.

But swing from 280 to 276 to maybe 278 this morning.

---

Still somehow losing weight.... I found it challenging to stay below 4,000 calories  some days this last week. Going to see if I can stay below 3,000 all week. I can if I'm intentional!  Working on good changes to make it easier. Didn't realize I had this struggle until I started tracking... 2,000 is my calorie goal and slowly will get there!

Starting weight: 248.8

Week 1: 247.2 (down 1.6)

Week 2: 248.2 (up 1.0)

Week 3: 247.0 (down 1.2)

Week 4: 250.8 (up 3.8)

OK well that sucks but it's vacation weight and most of it is from sodium and carb bloat.  Other than the first couple days with a kitchen in our Airbnb we ate out for every meal  And traveling with 2 teenagers already makes it difficult to find a place everyone likes so veggies were hard to come by.   I tried to be really mindful and practice intuitive eating on the trip.  We ate at irregular hours so we could eat when we were hungry and I often left food on the plate so I have those wins to celebrate.  I have another trip this weekend so I can't weigh in until Tuesday.  I'm back home now until Friday but having grocery issues since there was a mass power outage and a lot of stores had to throw away refrigerated food.  None of the fruit on my list was in stock and only half the veggies were in.   I'm just planning to do the best I can while I'm home and keep plugging away.

Clawed my way back to decent nutrition and had a big whoosh yesterday so I'm back on track. It still wasn't a great mental health week, but I'm pushing through.

This week I have a sister stopping by on her way to move out west, we're seeing Black Widow in theaters (and most likely getting dinner), having the in-laws come out for a few days, and having a house warming party so it's gonna be iffy again

Well, this was supposed to be my last weigh in before heading off on holidays - until they decided to do a snap lockdown and close some interstate boarders.

Good news is that I did see 66kg this week and kept it until today (Sunday my official weigh in) I was just in the 66 range with 66.9.  Now I've see that number I feel I can track to be in the 66's consistently.  Then just one more kilo to go to be at my goal.  I'm not sure where I'll eventually land but I'd like 65 to be my top weight in the next 12 months.

I've had to cancel plans already but there is a very remote chance that i can still do part of the trip in just over a fortnight - if the lockdown/boarder position doesn't change in that period of time.

An upside is that I've lost most of this weight in lockdown so I can use this time to dial in some more.

Ouch for that, hopefully you will hit your goals if you are stuck. That would be a bummer on trying to get a holiday...

Hope you find some rest and some motivation on keeping going!

plateau city! But in between weeks 4 and 5 weigh’ ins was a delightful holiday at the cottage, celebrating hubs’ bday, our anniversary, and much of the extended fam being back together for the first time in over a year. Drinks, desserts, and happy hour nibblies abounded, went over calorie goals every dang day, and I didn’t meet my step goal ONCE all week. So I feel pretty blessed to be at the same weight as pre-vacay!

NOW I am back home, yoga studio is open, and dance troup is organized. Likely to be a relatively active week, woo! Many steps today in the name of raiding Pokemon legendaries. And back to my usual food routines: just taking turkey meatballs out of the oven, yum!

Getting there! Losing weight fast is not my forte. But I’ve been logging food super consistently and pleasantly surprised at the level of control I feel when I do so. Now instead of grabbing a snack then throwing up my hands and saying “this day is a bust, I’ll start over tomorrow and do it perfectly”, I track it and as often as not, can adjust the rest of the day accordingly to still finish in (or near) the good zone. Progress scan day so hopefully those will be reinforcing too!

I wet up again, and sadly gaining has extended into this week as well.  I had another trip over the weekend so that got in the way of recovering from the vacation weight gain.  I'm a little discouraged and struggling a bit this week with the 'why bothers'.  I have another roadtrip this weekend but I'll spend more time in the car than at my destination.  I'll start my new challenge next week and I have very few planned obstacles.  I am planning to buckle down and bring it for the remainder of the PVP and the duration of the next challenge.

Slow going, but I’m still in it. Fully tracked food for 6/7 days over the past week, and activity pretty solid given the heat.

  • 3 yoga classes (ok two of those were yin, which is mostly holding long deep stretches, but very welcome)
  • hit my Move goal 6/7 days
  • session of strong curves
  • Mid-distance bike ride (24 km) yesterday
  • No dance class because storms 😧
  • More alcohol than optimal: margarita on Thurs, 2 glasses of wine Fri, glass of wine Sat 😬

It looks less significant than it is.  After the previous week's weigh in at 251.6, I continued to gain and maxed out at 254.6.  Recovering back to 251.4 is very welcome.  I'm hoping the new challenge brings more progress.

Might have been a bit of a fluke as I was not on track this last week while we were working on a house project. Plus this morning was a bit higher. Tonight we're celebrating getting our part of the project done (contractor is coming out the rest of the week to do his part) by going out to dinner and a movie. We're going to a sushi/hibachi grill and I always over order and end up stuffing myself silly, but hopefully this time I remember how many maki rolls is too much and order one less :) And I have chocolate covered peanuts for the movie and we always get junior popcorns (our theaters gives them out for free on Tuesdays) and usually a soda. But then I'm planning on being back on track so fingers crossed next week isn't a gain
