[Doctorake] Basic Challenge

So I have been very intermittent in my NF postings and not very committed. I am hoping to change that with this challenge. I want to get back into working out and eating healthy as well as continuing my 2021 goals and doing regular productivity. Going to keep it really simple for this one.

 

  • Workout daily - Weights 3 days a week, cardio the other 4 days. For the first week I am going to do 20 mins cardio and see how it goes. At some point in this challenge I will up it to 30.
  • Eating whole foods only - Leaner cuts of meat, veggies, nuts, avocado, and some whole grains. I will occasionally eat out and try to make a decent choice on the menu.
  • Post a picture of dinner daily - This helps me stay on track.
  • Establish 3 goals weekly in other aspects of life and accomplish them.
  • If the challenge goes well, potentially add something to the list in later weeks.

Fitness

  • Visible abs
  • Run 2 miles in sup 13 minutes
  • Squat 285 for 5 reps
  • OHP 120 for 5 reps
  • Bench 185 for 5 reps
  • Deadlift 355 for 5 reps
  • Clean 135 for 3 reps
  • Do 15 pull ups
  • Do 50 pushups
  • Complete a 75 Hard
  • one week of resting heart rate sub 50
  • GORUCK Heavy(Covid Pending)

 

Fishing

  • Have all gear in easy to grab cases/bags
  • Eat a whole snapper
  • Spear a snapper
  • Spear a mahi
  • Catch a lobster
  • Finalize my rod layout in the boat
  • Begin fly fishing
  • Catch a blackfin tuna
  • Catch a sailfish
  • Catch a yellow edge grouper
  • Catch a keeper gag/black grouper
  • Target and catch a mangrove snapper purposefully
  • Target and catch a flounder purposefully
  • Target, catch and eat a slot Snook purposefully
  • Target, catch and eat a whole Pompano

  • Catch some saltwater fish on the fly rod ~ 10 new species for it

  • Set up one fish tank

 

Garden/Yard

  • Neat and well organized garden in containers and beds
  • No empty containers with only soil sitting in them
  • Automated watering
  • Rain barrel

 

Video Games

  • Finish Zelda
  • Finish Zelda 2
  • Finish Ori

 

Miniatures

  • Paint 500 points of space marines
  • Paint my ork kill team
  • Begin thunderhawk gunship assembly

 

Board Games

  • Play 4 new board games I own

 

Adventure

  • Make the crossing to the Bahamas in the boat this year
  • Week in the keys
  • Week in Wisconsin
  • Book/Plan a trip to Japan
  • Camp overnight 6 times
  • Kayak camp on an island
  • Catch a trout on a fly rod(adventure because I can not do this in Florida)
  • Become scuba certified
  • Begin releasing youtube videos at least every other week

 

Reading

 

Car

  • Get the body off the Miata
  • Powder coat/paint all the suspension
  • Redo the brake system
  • Get the Exocet body on top the car
  • Get the car started with the body on top(somewhat drivable)
  • Money pending find an EG civic hatch and buy it

 

Life

  • Reestablish my emergency fund to 6 months of paychecks
  • Watch all Star Wars movies
  • Watch all the Marvel movies
  • Finish cleaning/organizing/decluttering my house edit: move out and sell my house included

Just working on the beginner phase 1 of starting strength. Squats, alternating OHP and bench, and deadlifts for likely a month

  • Eating whole foods only - Close, I had a sandwich since it was in the fridge. Gotta be a little better, didn't overeat though.

These fish are strange. Most grouper live on rocky bottom in relatively shallower water. These guys live in 400-600 feet on a muddy bottom. My buddy had been catching them so this was my third try, ended up hooking it in 550 feet in the gulf stream off Florida.  Used an electric reel with a 9lb weight to be able to hold the bottom in the current.  This fish was one of the tastiest fish I have eaten, such nice meat. I posted a picture of a recipe a few posts up. It ended up weighing 28.11lbs.

Week 1 wrap up

 

 

Week 1 goals

  • Finish squat rack set up
  • Fill and plant new planter
  • Drop parents boat off at dealer

 

Finished all my goals and nailed the workout! Eating was not the greatest but not absolutely horrible. All in all not bad week. I still have a couple other 2021 goals I've accomplished I need to post up.

 

Week 2 goals:

 

  • Organize fishing weights
  • Get my GoPros ready for use
  • Mulch the beds

 

Adding to this new week - Stretching after every workout and mental fitness by doing duolingo for 50xp daily.

Ok, long bad weekend. I did lift on Friday but after that it kind of went to crap. I'll just start posting normal again instead of trying to recap.

 

I have work Tuesday - Thursday this week. Then Red Snapper fishing Fri - Sun. Then work two days then take the boat to the Bahamas!
